Great local business, making fresh beer. Can grab a pint, try some of the 30+ beer on tap and take home a growler of what you like best. Nothing beats local and nothing beats fresh beer. Update: the "Bernie Sanders" NorthEast IPA is my new favourite. Update: so glad this place here and it just keeps getting better.

Lots of beers on experimental stage and most are available for growler fills. Decent size of taster room with some board games. Max capacity of 15 per sign. They are apparently known for their sours, namely Raspberry Sour and Purple Draank. Friendly staff with a variety of munchies and cool crowd. We will likely come back when we are in the area.

Great quality beer. Owner and staff are great. Very reasonable prices. The owner took us out back and gave us a free beer tour and tastings.

From my blog post: Old Abbey Ales is located just off the Trans Canada Highway on Fraser Highway so it is very easy to access. When you arrive you will find the entrance to the taring room (to be a lounge in the future). Once you walk into the brewery you will find the tasting room. There is a good sized bar where you order beer and fill growlers. They also have a few tables to stand at and enjoy your beer. Once their first batch of bottles is finished bottle conditioning they also have a cooler for them. Currently the brewery is not doing tours but I got really lucky and the owner was their and was happy to give me a personal tour of the brewery. The brewery currently is based in two different rooms. Once is the brewhouse and tank farm with a second room that has the bottle conditioning room and coolers. The brewhouse actually has two different brew systems. The main systems is a 10 barrel brewhouse with 20 barrel fermentors. This system will do most of the bottled beer that you will find in store. The other system is a much smaller system that will provide one offs and different pilot brews for the tasting room. It is helpful that the owner of the brewery sells brew systems and thinks this endeavor will help both sides of his business. When you leave that room you move onto the cooler where you will find their tanks that feed the taproom. A second cooler is close by where they hold their hops and their casks. Once out of the cooler I was lead over to check out their bottle conditioning room. It may not be the prettiest of finishes but it should really do the job of making some great bottle conditioned beers. When you turn around from that room you will find their grain and bottle storage. I have not even said who the brewmaster of Old Abbey Ales is yet. If you know Dead Frog Brewery in Aldergrove you may just be familiar with Tony DeWald the brewmaster here. I expect great things in the future especially with the hope of the brewery to have 15 beer on tap in their tasting room at one time! Head over to the brewery to check out the beers they launched with that include Belgian Single, Blonde Ale, Rye Pale Ale, IPA and a Dark Strong Ale. Check out the brewery as soon as possible!

20 (?) beers on tap. When I walk into a brewery there are usually two or three beers that look interesting. When I walked into Old Abbey I wanted to try about ten of them. Did I love them all? No. But they are trying things that are different. Props to th

It was very chill. They have 2 locations and this one is the more 'lax version off the side of a road. Their other locations is in Chilliwack which is more established as a restaurant type. After talking to the guy at the till, he mentioned that they switch flavours every thursday. That was intriguing and made this place more interesting. I guess it's a place I'll have to come back to time to time. This place is more known for their sours. I have to agree. The strong blueberry one was really good. It was packed with flavour, thanks to the blueberries. Some of the other fruit sours were a bit of a miss. I had high expectations for the strawberry one but didn't really get strawberry unless I thought about it... My fave thing about their flights are the drink cards that go behind each flight glass. It was a nice touch to be reminded of what you got and read the vision behind the drink. (Almost wish the photos weren't of the cans but more of a moodboard to convey the flavour's vibe).

It's not often that you find a fantastic burger in an industrial site, but it happened to us today…read more Heading back home from a meeting in Chilliwack we searched Yelp to try a new place. This establishment will see us again for sure! When we walked in they said they didn't have any tables available due to a large group reservation. Thankfully the owner came out of the kitchen and said the group had changed to tomorrow, lucky for us and the other couple that walked in right after us. All of us were newbies (they said they would be back too). The service was very good, the beer excellent, the onion rings and waffle fries also excellent, but the star for sure is the burger. I had the BBQ Bacon burger which features an oversized burger patty, along with the onion rings as a side. The char on the meat is fantastic, and the taste amazing. Maybe a little less bbq sauce, but that's a personal thing. The lively K had the single cheeseburger which was a good size for her and the waffle fries. We both ate half our burgers and got a to go box so we could finish the rings and fries. I've read the burger is as good the next day, so we'll see how that works. The Pac-Man console is the ultimate touch. Great place, highly recommended! Oh. The burgers were good cold the next day right out of the cooler as we were road tripping. Ate the half's at the Horseshoe Bay ferry terminal!

There is no outdoor seating. Staff are friendly. The beers were decent nothing really stood out. Also the flights are smaller than other places - they are 4x 3oz which is not very good value at all. Knock a star off. The one I liked the most was the Dope sour cherry. Not a bad place to visit, but also not worth a special trip out.
