I procrastinated in finding another PCP but when I recently discovered a potential health issue, I set up my first visit with Dr. Kathleen Ranola through the Queen's Healthcare systems. She and her staff are AMAZING. Jocelyn, the receptionist was so nurturing in helping me secure my first visit. She was efficient, responsive and precise in providing me details on where to go and what to do. Janet, the Medical Assistant was just lovely. She was friendly and patient, asking me those uncomfortable "first visit" questions in a way that was comfortable and supportive. She immediately made me feel at ease there. Dr. Ranola was simply wonderful. She was attentive and kind and seemed genuinely interested in my well being and health. She ordered those annual (not fun) visits and just seems to be everything one could hope for from a PCP. I am feeling so relieved after my visit and look forward to her guiding me on any health issues I may encounter as I age. Her office is conveniently located in the Mary Savio building on Kaahumanu street in Aiea/Pearl City. The parking is easy to maneuver through and the building is clean and welcoming. The staff are friendly and remember you when you come in for treatments, especially your first anxious appointment. They let you know what they're doing and check to see if you're comfortable before starting the treatment. I was pleasantly surprised to see my mapping improve slightly on each treatment. Dr. Imanaka is the psychiatrist who goes over the mapping results. He's very personable which makes it easy to ask questions and he even shared information to help my husband who is not a patient there. I give them 5 stars !

One of the Doctors is also a Veteran! Which is significantly damaging to my mental health. I feel betrayed among a plethora of negative emotions. Absolutely no one deserves this type of treatment, ESPECIALLY from a Pyschiatric/Therapy Group that you are literally paying. You should get penalized for no showing, it's your JOB. I don't have to see you if I don't want to. Maybe we don't want to sometimes, we are obviously seeing you because we have mental issues. Don't take it personal when we no show, you're already getting free money when we miss an appointment. Ever heard of Compassion? Again, IT'S YOUR JOB, we are the ones giving you money and taking times out of our lives. Put your office staff through proper training or something. You're a Pychiatric Consultant!! Learn how to talk to people without an attitude, you are a reflection of your provider. If you can't handle the energy YOU put out, and just hang up on patients, and claim abuse, you should look for another job. Accept when you're wrong, and take responsibility. You're going to be alright, it's ok to admit when you're wrong.

He provides amazing care, spends time with you to really understand how you're doing. He has offices in Waikiki, downtown, and Mililani so lots of options if you're wanting in person. He also does virtual appointments too. It's really easy to get appointments as well - He works weekends and evenings which is super convenient. I appreciate how kind and empathetic he is. If you are looking for therapy or medication management go see Dave Fields ! He's one of the few providers who actually cares.

Eventually I insisted on getting a referral to cancer Center oh Hawaii after learning that they were doing state of the art procedures. Figured it was worth looking into. I ultimately chose to treat my cancer in Hawaii rather than going to the mainland because of the wonderful Dr Lederer and his kind and professional staff. Just starting down the path to hopefully being cancer free...but I feel a lot more positive because I am working with these fine caring people.

I was able follow them through the process with a wrist band that tracked his progress through the surgical day. Surgery day was surprisingly smooth. The anesthesiology team kept us comfortable, and the state-of-the-art facility felt more like a welcoming environment than a surgery center. They woke up with manageable discomfort--no worse than a tough workout--and was walking the halls just hours later. The nursing staff was phenomenal, checking in regularly and encouraging mobility with kindness and expertise. By week two, my cousin was off prescription pain meds and moving better than he had in a decade! Physical therapy started gently, and with each session, he regained strength and flexibility. Six months post-op, he's back to hiking local trails, gardening, and chasing his grandkids without a twinge of pain. His only regret? Not doing this sooner! Always caring, attentive and SUPER knowledgeable. She is always able to work around my schedule for appointments. If I need paperwork done for insurance she is ALWAYS willing to complete quickly. My history with other doctors is they HATE insurance paperwork AND, IF you can get them to do it they want to charge you EXTRA! For insurance I have HMSA. I have never paid anymore than the little copays for visits. I can text and email her and she responds quickly. She always keeps up on my prescriptions and when I need refills she sends them off to the pharmacy IMMEDIATELY during our visits (not common). So there is no waiting. Sooo many times before I've shown up at a pharmacy only to find out my prescription wasn't called in... I'm lucky to have her as my doctor.

I am writing this review because it is incredible and inexcusable to me that this office can ignore…read moretheir own patients. I broke my foot in three places and was in a lot of pain. I saw Dr. Harris who I have to say was excellent. He took care of my broken foot and also injected my knee and my hip and solved some other issues. However, my broken foot was extremely painful. I took pain medication as per prescribed, I do not like pain medication so I tried to not take it as much as possible. However, at the beginning my foot was so painful I could not put any pressure on it or sleep however, when I needed more pain medication this office completely ignored me. I called several times and I was told someone would get back to me and they never did. I was without medication for an entire week and almost had to go to the emergency room, I just laid in my bed and waited it out until somebody called me one week later! When I told Dr. Harris what was happening he apologized. However, this same scenario repeated itself a month later I wanted to come in and get an injection in my foot so that I would not need any more medication, but I could not get an appointment and I also was having a lot of trouble walking, I called the office and asked for some pain medication and an appointment. They would not refill my prescription unless I came. I was ready willing and able to come in but I could not get an appointment! Then the doctor was going on vacation so I asked if I could at least get something to get me through the week so I could work and then I would come in. No answer. Then the doctor came back from vacation and I tried to get into see him but I could not get an appointment. I asked to speak to him on the phone and they said they would call me back and they didn't. He also told me to message him through the portal which I did, now it is Friday and I couldn't bear to go another weekend without any medication to help me walk. I messaged him in the portal. They read the message at 1 o'clock in the afternoon and no one ever got back to me. So here it is another weekend where I will have to lie in my bed because I cannot walk without pain. This is nothing short of malpractice, and I am disgusted with this office and their lack of communication. I saw another doctor in this orthopedic group several years ago for another broken bone and she was amazing. She always called me back when I called and she checked up on me after surgery. If I was in pain, she gave me advice and told me what to do prescribing whatever I needed in addition to physical therapy. As I said , Dr. Harris is technically very good and he seems to be a very nice guy, but his talents are wasted in an office with little to no communication. I will be finding another orthopedic doctor.
