The receptionist or whoever he is that answers phone calls is ABSOLUTELY RUDE AND DISGUSTING. I believe his name is Kevin. He is bad for business and his customer service is deplorable. I called, maybe a total of three times (within a 1.5 month period) asking questions before I committed to paying close to $200 to be a part of their program. The first time I called, I'll be honest, he was helpful. However, I saw a few bad reviews online and that prompted me to call in to inquire again about a possible refund in the event I was unsatisfied like a few of their prior patients. Kevin then asked me "Why do you keep calling? Either want to join us or you don't! We keep records of every phone call and you've called before. What are you doing?" Mind you, I've spoken to this man maybe three times within 6 weeks. He made it seem like I was doing something illegal by simply calling their establishment and asking about their services before coughing up money that's pretty hard to come by. He then put the doctor on the phone after I expressed my dissatisfaction with his utter disrespect and when I explained how rude he was, she said that I was right or maybe it was her way of coddling me to get my money. I absolutely would never do business with this establishment. Any company asking a potential client why they are calling is not somewhere I want to be associated with. Kevin (if that's his name) could've handled the situation much better and should've put the doctor on the phone immediately if he felt he had little to no patience left to assist me. I want to note that my experience was a few years ago, however the experience has irked me enough that I feel it needs to be shared. As an ER nurse of ten years, I feel it is my duty to share this as others may go to this establishment and trust their care. After having some unexplained weight gain, I visited Dr. Aron who performed her health history and assessment on me as well as some blood work. I was given an unrealistic caloric intake goal and also handed a bag of unmarked pills to assist with appetite suppression. On my initial follow up, she reported to me that my thyroid levels were abnormal and handed me Synthroid to start taking. As a nurse, I knew taking Synthroid without having a pre-existing condition could be detrimental to my long term health- which prompted me to follow up with my primary care. Follow up results were completed, and have been so multiple times over. My results were 100% normal and have continued to be so. Trusting an establishment that hands you pills with minimal information, very basic follow up, and instructions that ultimately threaten your health for short term relief is dangerous and needs to be addressed. Update: Dr. Aron attempted to now act "polite" via a Yelp messages only after seeing my honest review even though she was extremely rude and dismissive to me in her office. She asked me to take down my review but I'm sorry for being HONEST. Not sure what "anxiety" or "uncertainty" she's talking about in her reply, I wasn't anxious at all during my appointments. She literally copy/pasted her information in the reply from a quick Google search. Back in November, I read rave reviews about Doctor Aron that perplexed me. I was to her office in May 2017 and met with her assistant - a very nice young woman, I NEVER met (despite what Dr. Aron claims) her on that day and I wasn't particularly impressed. I was given a bag of red vitamins, which did nothing and $100 went by the board. I decided this wasn't worth the time and certainly not the expensive and I was wholly unimpressed. The other evening, Dr. Aron telephoned me to discuss what I wrote. For the moment, I had no idea who was calling, so I did return the call. Her male receptionist, a very surly, churlish young man, tore into me for writing a "hateful" review about her and attempted to lay me out in lavender - boy, did he have the WRONG guy at the end of the line. Dr. Aron came on the line - she seems like a very nice woman, and I have no doubt she has helped many people and those raves were not without merit. I told her that I would poof the original review, which I did and I would think about coming to see her - she very generously offered me a free consultation. Now that several hours have passed, it is my firm belief that this is just not a good fit FOR ME - I was put off, to say the least, but this boorish man who was on the verge of screaming his lungs out at me for my November review and that was a HUGE turn off - for me. So, the best I can say is that Dr. Aron seems to be a very nice and capable doctor - but upon reflection and looking back to that spring day nearly two years ago, I believe there are far more effective programs extant, again, speaking solely and exclusively for myself. If that sounds harsh, that's not my intention. These matters are highly subjective - and when I don't get a good vibe from ANY establishment, I follow my intuition and, invariably, I am right. I don't know how helpful this is, but this is my experience with this office and there's really nothing more to be said. Still thinking about this 2 years later so I thought I should review. In 2018, I was looking to lose some weight and was trying different was out. At the time I was going to the gym at least once a week but I knew I needed to have a lifestyle change with my nutrition. I contacted the Weight Loss NYC after finding some fantastic reviews and thought it would be the answers to my prayers. Someone working took my bloodwork and some other tests and told me to wait for the doctor. I then met with Dr. Aron and at first I didn't think it was her as she doesn't particularly resemble her online headshot, but she sat down with me and just spoke about what would be best for me to lose weight not really asking about my current lifestyle of anything or what foods I usually prefer to eat. She put me on a 1200 calorie vlcd diet, gave me a generic meal plan, and handed me a bag of not labeled red pills to take as a meal suppressant. Now at this point, I was pretty disheartened. With her spectacular reviews, I was wondering why I didn't get a more specialized meal plan or idea of what should change diet wise. I didn't want to feel to critical thought as I thought "well she's the professional" and said let's be open minded and give it the old college try at least until the next consultation. Now a week into attempting to follow this very low caloric diet, I went to the gym. Halfway through my workout, I feel extremely weak and sick and call my mom. She immediately tells me to stop and eat a banana because I'm obviously not I taking enough nutrients to exercise. I should also say that at this point I shared my experience at my appointment and the plan I was told to follow, and to say the least my parents were very wary of her advice. After me almost passing out during that workout and just seeming so lethargic and unhappy during the two weeks, my parents told me no more. My dad found it sketchy that the bag of red pills wasn't labeled, the model meal plan seamed unhealthy for substantial lifestyle change (snacking on cucumbers when you don't like cucumbers isn't an answer), and that her lack of care to me specifically as a client isn't an answer... and honestly he wasn't wrong. I thank God how my parents always lookout for my physical and MENTAL well-being. We called to make a new appointment and asked to get faxed my bloodwork. I was told that they could only give it to me in person but honestly at this point I decided this place wasn't going to be the answer for me. Anywhere that leaves me with such bad vibes and leaves me not liking anything about my eating habits/body isn't going to help me in the long run. I know you might be asking, "why post this two years later?". Well honestly, in 2019 I lost over 30lbs by myself through healthy lifestyle changes to what I eat and how I work out. I'm not perfect but I've been able to continue to a long lasting and fulfilling lifestyle and weight loss. How I eat now, I feel full with good nutritious fuel that I enjoy and don't want to cry or panic over a "cheat" meal. I have balanced. Looking back at who I was in 2018, my self esteem and where I was left me in a place of desperation looking for a way to change but I'm lucky enough to have found the change for myself and have a happiness and confidence that I'm very proud of. If this facility works for you, that's awesome. I'm happy for you. I was happy those transformation photos I saw those years ago. I wanted and wished it had worked for me. I write this review though, for the person like me who read reviews and mostly only saw good so I assumed the bad were overreacting. Basically she puts you on a vlcd (very low calorie diet) and gives you a bag of pills. And in my case, not even the fda approved weight loss drugs that seem to work like phentermine. I got a bag of red pills that, after researching, I learned do nothing for suppressing appetite and are the main ingredients in condoms. Like a fool willing to part with her money, I went for the follow up. I lost 1 lb in two weeks...she gave me an annoyed look and asked "why?". Isn't that my line? As for this counseling and behavior modification her website promises, all I got was a two minute visit with a disinterested doctor who told me to eat less carbs. An absolute waste of time and money. Took complete advantage of someone who was too desperate to lose weight. I've learned my lesson and I hope this review helps someone else too. read more

Honestly this was the worst experience of my life. First and foremost when i walked in they asked me for my height and weight...isn't that something that they should be doing. They took my measurements and put me in the room to see the dr (who is NOT the same person on her website) either she took that picture 40 years ago or is a completely different person.
