This was my first time doing an olive oil tasting and I'm so glad we went here. They have a good amount of extra virgin oils, infused oils, as well as balsamic vinegars ranging from light to dark. Some of my favorites were the Tuscan, Andalucian, white truffle, garlic, and peach balsamic. They give you some delicious sourdough bread to dip them in. And yes it's unlimited. Such an awesome deal for $20 also. They have a huge outdoor area surrounded by these beautiful huge trees with tons of shade and tables to sit and enjoy. The staff here were all very friendly and we even bought a few bottles to take home. This is such a fun and unique experience to do with your loved ones. Highly recommend.

What a neat little hidden gem! You can come here and be immersed in surroundings of all things olive oils. Wonderful Olive Oil tasting venue with big beautiful trees that provide a sanctuary of shade while you partake in olive oil tasting! You are given a tray with slates for all olive oil flavors as well as balsamic vinaigrettes along with a hefty slice of bread. Go have a seat under the trees (where you will also find the cutest hanging chairs for your enjoyment) and taste away. The coat for this is $40 There was a man, I believe his name was Ron that walks around giving you a little bit of history as well. Definitely include this in your things to do in Ojai. Plenty of free parking.

I was already a fan of Ojai Olive Oil because my mother-in-law would gift their olive oil and balsamic vinegar. It was my first time going to an olive farm. The grounds were nice and peaceful. It was family and dog friendly. I didn't do a tasting because I was only looking for a gift. The tasting appeared to include your choice of their local olive oils and balsamic vinegars from Italy that were locally flavored. It also included some bread from a local restaurant. The customer service (5 stars) was great as they answered all my questions. I got the Signature Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Traditional Style Balsamic Vinegar based on their gift recommendations. I was given a sample of the Traditional Style Balsamic Vinegar since I have only tried the flavored ones. I liked the rich flavor so much that I got one for myself. I also bought the Ojai Pixie Infused Olive Oil. The olive oil had a balanced essence of Ojai's signature tangerines that wasn't overwhelming. I mainly used the balsamic vinegar and olive oil to make an easy yet flavorful salad dressing or have it with bread. I wish I bought more as I'm currently savoring each delicious drop. I've seen their products sold at other spots in Southern California. It's worth a try even if you can't make it to the charming Ojai farm.

The olive oil taste place is located few miles away from the old town, about ten to fifteen minutes drive. They have designated visitor parking lot, equipped with mobile toilets. Other than the tasting room and outdoor seating place, there's not much place you can walk around, mostly private area and not open to public. They have a small dog playground next to the mill room. The tasting exhibit room is clean and organized, there are tons of fresh olive oils and imported vinaigrette for tasting. It's totally worth the $15 for tasting all, you get the chance to try four extra virgins (used to be five but 1850 has been out of stock), six infused oils, and nine vinegars. My personal favorites olive oils here are Andalucian, Ojai Pixie, and Tuscan Herbs.

TLDR: 5/5 - Beth and Sophia were absolute gems who are servicing a lovely experience of good tasting olive oils and vinegars at a reasonable price and homey location. I kinda won't stop talking about this place and I think the rest of my party can agree. Getting there: It was roughly 10 minutes out of main street. Our maps (Apple) were fine but I can understand the confusion. There's sort of a dead end one way so you have no choice but to go the other way so its ultimately not hard to find. It is a one way road however so drive slow. Someone will have to back up. Location: Dirt road, parking is free, no reservations needed. There's lunch tables for you to enjoy under the shade with hammocks which was actually quite breezy and not hot despite it being 92 degrees outside. Experience: 5/5 - As a party of 5 we waited while another group was wrapping up with the two service ladies. Once they were done we were generously walked through some of the history followed by the directions. They were so real with us by only getting two trays ($30 for 5 ppl then) and thank god! I love the kind of honesty and actually not wasting their product for the sake of economic gain. In fact I think 3 people could easily share 1 tray so note for yourself based on how many people you have. We didn't even fill our cups most of the way and had plenty left over. The service was just so nice and refreshing. Beth and Sophia were so kind and knowledgable of the product. Quite actually expanded our minds on what we could do with balsam. We didn't know there was even balsamic vinegar here that came with the tasting! With this knowledge I won't let you down beth, you expanded my culinary language. We each got a bag of bread (not stale btw) and followed the directions of how to go about the tasting. It was also just so refreshing to not have an alcoholic tasting and for such a reasonable price! Some of our favorites were Oil: Tuscan, Andalucian -- Infused: Lemon, Tuscan Herb Vinegar: Fig, Peach, Espresso, Pomegranate They also have soaps, lip balm, you can buy a whole pitcher worth! We left with some reasonable priced bottles (imo). I had such fun, thank you again!

So many olive oils!

What a cool experience! I've never been to an olive oil farm but being able to see the groves of olive trees IRL was such a highlight. Then being able to sample all the olive oils and balsamic vinegars was like icing on the cake. They don't have gluten free bread here, but they allow you to bring your own GF option with you. I would recommend bringing a really simple GF cracker that can be easily broken into dipping sized pieces. There were sooo many kinds of olive oils to try and you can go back for refills as many times as you want. For $15 for a board, I felt like it was a great deal. Standouts included the Andalucian oil, the rosemary infused oil, the lemon oil, and the Tuscan oil. Service was a little strange at times with a few of the staff members seeming annoyed we were there. We were greeted by a woman who seemed a bit agitated by our presence which was strange. Other staff members were helpful and friendly. Reading the reviews, it appears this is not an uncommon experience with others noting the same off-putting vibe. I ended up going home with a bottle of their infused truffle oil and I've been using it on pastas, popcorn, and GF bread. It's so yummy! They also ship nationwide which is great if you aren't able to check a bag on the way home.

I loved this place. There are so many beautiful mature olive trees in their compound. I loved roaming around the area. The people that helped us were very informative and friendly. We had to do the olive oil tasting, it was a great deal and it came with fresh loaf of bread to dip with all the olive oils and balsamic vinegars. I definitely will come back. I came home with a couple of my favorite infused olive oils we tried.

Great place to learn all about olive oils! They offer $15 olive oil tasting on weekdays and $20 on weekends. You'll get a tray to try all 21 types of olive oil and bread (such a great combo!). Unfortunately, they ran out of the 1850 so we doubled up on one of the oils. I appreciated the staff letting us know that a tray was shareable, so for our party of four we shared one tray and it was more than enough. We still have oil leftover after we all tried everything. My personal favorites were the lemon, Tuscan herbs, and white truffle. It was my first time trying anything other than the standard olive oil (non flavored) and I really enjoyed the various infused flavors! It was a little confusing trying to find the place, but once you get to the fork based on your gps you should hang left and drive up the one way dirt road. Free parking lot parking!

Cindy L.

Had a great time sampling olive oil and balsamic vinegars! I love that they had hammocks around the area and the sampling is only ($15) for the board Their bottles of olive oil and balsamic are a bit expensive but you can definitely taste the quality.

this was definitely my favorite thing i did in ojai! i've never been able to taste a difference in olive oils but I definitely could with this tasting. I split it with my friend and that was perfect! would definitely recommend this! there's a parking lot in the front, it's all dirt path so be aware of that. the road to get here is really narrow and can only fit one car at a time so make sure you're careful going up (when it gets to a one car road that portion of road is really short so you'll be fine!)

Food Sourdough was solid. The olive oils and balsamics ranged from good to delicious. Best olive oils: Sig, White Truffle, Lemon Best balsamics: Peach, Espresso, Pomegrante, Fig Service 5/5 Atmosphere 5/5

Oh, hi
Kevin M.

After our Valentine's Day brunch at Rory's Other Place, my wife and I headed to Ojai Olive Oil to check out the tasting room. This was only a 10 minute drive from town and *disclaimer* you will drive through water to get here since it's located in the canyons (yes, I was unsure if I was going the right way). Parking is free and you do not require any reservations to visit. The tasting itself is only $15 and one board is enough for two people with unlimited sourdough bread. The woman who rang us up was so kind and knowledgeable. She gave us a run through of their history and the unique flavors each of their olive oil has. As for seating, it's going to be on outdoor picnic tables under the trees with some swings. Ojai Olive Oil does not sell wine and instead, they offer complimentary water. We spent about an hour here and it was a fun activity to do. My personal favorites were the infused Rosemary and infused White Truffle. This is a very common outing in Ojai since we saw other couples in town afterwards at one of the wine tasting rooms. You will definitely need to head back to town afterwards if you prefer to use an actual restroom than a porta-potty LOL

This was a really neat experience. We are not drinkers, so it was nice to do a tasting with something that didn't involve alcohol. The customer service here was top notch. The ladies working inside the store were so helpful and nice, and Ron the docent was incredibly knowledgeable about olives and the olive oil process. The infused olive oil was, not surprisingly, a big hit with us. You can never go wrong with a garlic infused anything, really. Absolutely delicious. We really appreciated that the olive oils were organic, as was the sourdough bread that was brought in from a local bakery. The weather was fantastic today, and sitting under the shaded olive trees, while tasting some fresh olive oil was the perfect touch. Don't forget to ask for a military discount for $2 off!

I knew Ojai was famous for its olive oils, but Carolina especially embodies mastery and craftsmanship as reflected in her offerings of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. As I was the only patron in her shop at the time, I was privileged with her showing me various unique combinations of balsamic and olive oil. She certainly lives up to the Italian stereotype of having good taste. She suggested against me buying food for my mother for Mother's Day, but she understood when I insisted that my mom is a foodie (where I get it from). Carolina herself is classy and refined, yet still so open and welcoming, all of which also is reflected in her store. It is thus no surprise that her shop has been around for over a decade. I hope her shop is there when I am 100! If there was ever a place to stop in Ojai, I would recommend this place. A truly unique experience, unparalleled. As for the food, everything we ordered was just okay. We had the beef tartare, the black truffle risotto, the veal osso bucco, and a side of mushrooms. Nothing really stood out, especially for the price. The ingredients were clearly fresh and high quality, but the flavors felt muted and a little too subtle. For a restaurant at this level, I expected more depth and more memorable dishes. Overall, not terrible, just not impressive. I wish the flavors matched the quality of the ingredients, the service, and the price point.
