I've casually known the owner Jim for a few years and knew he was an honest, stand up guy, so when I hit a deer and damaged the front end of my car, I thought I'd call him first. The very first thing he did was ask if the kids and I were ok. I've never had a body shop take the few seconds it took him to see me as a person and not just a client/paycheck. The second thing he told me was "My job is to do the work for you and make this as easy as possible for you and your family." That alone made me feel like his business might be the best choice for me to take care of my repairs. He immediately made time for me to swing by and check out the damage, took all the photos and explained how to work with the insurance. He made this process SO EASY, I couldn't believe it! We were leaving town the next morning and I worried our trip would be peppered with calls from insurance but he was so thorough, the only call I received was insurance telling me they issued a check for repairs. He kept me informed through the whole process, from progress to parts delays, so I never felt like I was unaware of what was happening. I realized I needed something out of my car like 10 days into this, and he met me personally to make sure I could access my vehicle and get what I needed. I would never have imagined I'd leave a review for auto body repair, but they made it so easy and the quality of work they did made the vehicle look better than before I even hit the deer! The price was very reasonable, and they went above and beyond in so many ways, including checking my battery and recharging it for FREE, simply because it was the right thing to do. The service department is horrible!!…read more I had an accident while vacationing in the area. My 2024 Jeep was taken to this dealer to be diagnosed for error code. I had left my vehicle and went home because there was going to be a wait on parts at the tire/suspension shop where it was towed. After tire/suspension work was completed an appointment was setup for the next day to have Don K service clear and check error codes. Jeep was at this dealer for 4 days and they never looked at it. When the tire technician followed up with them to remind them I was flying in the next day they told him they couldn't work on it because they didn't have warranty or owner information. This was not true, as tech had given them everything they needed. (Hello - Why not look at the VIN!) When I landed I was updated of the situation, I went directly to dealer service department and was told they would get it in the next morning, that never happened. Same story the next day, so I asked to speak with the service manager (Derick) and service advisor (Darrel). They said they would get it in that morning and call me in a couple hours. The call never came so I went back, Jeep hadn't moved. At that point I had enough of being jacked around and had my husband come pick me up and haul my Jeep home which was a 13 hour drive each way. GOOD RIDDANCE TO YOU Don K!!! I don't know how you stay in business! Also at one point during my dialogue with service manager, Derick, told me "to get my shit off his lot" but the service advisor talked him down since I came from so far away. Looking back I guess I should not have wasted my time and had my husband come earlier... It was a very expensive trip back Whitefish to get my Jeep, for myself with air fair, rental car and motel room for multiple nights. Then my husband to having to drive up as well. This was a horrible experience and I pray no one else will have to deal with this place like I did. Upside -- When we got home I got my Jeep in to my local dealer and they had it fixed in less than two hours. Now that's great service! I was every happy to see that he was able to get the swirl and hard water spots out; however I am unsatisfied with the overall experience for the following reasons. 1. He had my vehicle for 4 days and it turns out he didn't actually start the process until the morning of the last day. I expect he spent about 4-6 hours on it. He made it sound like it was a 2 day process which justified the high cost of the service. 2. When I got the car home I found that he didn't even touch the engine compartment which he says he forgot. He wanted me to bring it back, but after the 4 day process I decided to pass. He should have offered to refund some of the cost of the full exterior detail service. 3. Sill plates were not even wiped down. Technically this is exterior since it is exposed to road wetness. 4. High cost. He said he charges between 350-550 for this service. I was of course charged 550. I didn't complain about the cost since it sounded like he was going to do the BEST in the county type of job on it. This is the 3rd detailing from 3 different detailers. Every experience has been a disappointment. This one being the most frustrating due to the cost versus outcome. I recommend finding a detailer that has been referred to you by friends and family.
