Ordered mulch and gravel which didn't come. After three weeks they still haven't issued a refund.

Called ahead to confirm that dumping was free, just liked I've been doing for the last year. Then the manager told his intake to start charging trucks with trailers that come in after a couple loads that afternoon, and my crew had to pay. The same guy came up on a fork lift pissed off and yelled at us that we weren't dumping in the right area, when another gentleman told us to dump where we were dumping. If I was told it wouldn't be free, I would have dropped at Kurtz. Will not be recommending or utilizing Ohio Mulch as a business owner moving forward. read more

I have been buying bulk mulch at the Roberts Rd location for going on 15 years and spend about $2,000 per year. I bring a flat bed trailer so I'm in and out a lot and I only have one beef, and I hope the owner is listening, being that I am a steady and loyal customer. And that beef is the horrible mud lane on exiting the property when leave with my shiny new SUV and my trailer fully loaded. That's it. That's my ONLY complaint after all these years, which is actually a compliment. My experience is that the help has always been efficient and as courteous as any reasonable person could expect. These people work hard especially in the Spring when everyone wants their mulch at the same time. I read some of the critical reviews here and all I am saying is my experience has been pleasant. Yes there are times I have to wait. Hello people. That's what happens in the Spring, just like the nurseries get swamped. Now, back to the exit lane. Why? I don't understand. You have gravel there and bobcats that could solve the problem at least temporarily. But obviously we would all prefer a permanent fix. So how about it? And anybody who reads this should reward them with buying more mulch so they can afford to keep up with the place. At first, terrible experience. I ordered 2 yards of topsoil and made sure to confirm by phone that I would be notified ahead of time before the delivery, and that the driver would knock on my door so I could show him where to dump. I heard nothing all morning, only to discover after lunch that they had dumped the load on my driveway without calling or knocking. Now my vehicle is blocked in and I have 4-5 hours of manual labor to move the dirt. Absolutely terrible service. Edit: Customer service returned my calls and made it right, waiving the entire delivery fee on a future order. They were very kind and sincerely apologetic. I'll be back in the future! read more

I had wanted to stop in and speak to a live person. I wanted to see the different mulch offerings as oppose to looking at everything online. My hope was I could get all the information I needed during this visit prior to bringing the truck over and buying all the mulch for our yard. The day I stopped by it happened to be raining. I did not have an umbrella, but I didn't think it was a big deal because I was going in the small office near the entrance. When I opened the door I was greeted by a wall of cigarette smoke. I saw that the only employee behind the counter was smoking and talking on the phone. When she noticed me, she opened a drive thru like window and stuck her hand out of it. I waited a minute or two thinking she would get off the phone. Well, guess what, she didn't. The cigarette smoke really started getting to me, so I stepped out the door on the small landing and proceeded to get rained on. I watched through the glass door as she continued to smoke and talk on the phone. I waited minutes, and minutes, and minutes. When I was totally sick of getting rained on with no umbrella I opened the door again thinking this has to cue her to put out her cigarette and get off the phone. She did not do either at first. She didn't put the cigarette out until she finished smoking the entire thing and her extremely important "customer" phone call ended with her saying "I love you". I don't know if that is how she speaks to all her customers, but I can tell you when I left some time later, she didn't say I love you to me. I was completely frustrated, but I had still had no answers to all my questions. So I started to ask them. She basically did not move from behind the counter she just pointed me over to some bins set up like a bulk foods sections, but filled with mulch. I was trying to get specific info on pricing and then that is when this visit got really good. She told me that ALL the prices were wrong on all the display mulch. That I should not pay attention to the prices listed. And then when I wanted to clarify coloring of the displayed mulch she said that all the display mulch is really old, so whatever I purchase will look nothing like it does in the display. Then why the heck am I here. The prices were wrong, the display was old so it was not a true representation of what I would be buying and now I smell like smoke. Needless to say, we did not buy our mulch from this Ohio Mulch location and I will never go back to this one. read more

Mulch quality is extremely terrible. I bought 80 bags of the absolute black code #9952. Most of the bags had mold in them and seemed very old mulch from last year or the year before. Every single bag had tones of rocks in it. Mulch wasn't shredded evenly. It was either Finley shredded or big chunks of wood. The price wasn't even competitive comparing to Home Depot, Lowe's or Walmart. $1.39 for one cubic foot for this garbage quality is an extreme. I just wanted to support our local neighborhood business but unfortunately I was very disappointed. Would. It recommend it to anyone. read more

I am so upset with Ohio Mulch!! Ordered 16 yards of mulch and was originally told that it would be delivered on Thursday but wasn't. I called about 4pm on Thursday to inquire and was told it would be delivered on Friday. Thankfully that we had arrangements for it to be spread on Saturday. Well while I was gone on Friday they made a delivery but some of it to the wrong house. And they had damaged our tree when they dropped it off!! Our neighbors two doors down came and told us they had the rest of our mulch! Both our neighbors and us called them. They said they would rectify on Saturday. I told them we hired people to spread on Saturday and they blocked the truck of our neighbors so it needed to be taken care of early Saturday. I called at 8:30 am Saturday to follow up and was told they would have someone out by 12 noon to take care of it. Well at 1:15 pm no show and I called again and was told the truck had a flat!! We waited until 2pm and then started moving the mulch out of our neighbors driveway! It took us over 3 hours to move!! And as of 5pm no show and no phone call!!! This is inexcusable!! read more

Could be some of the most rude people on the planet that work here. It's unfortunate our tax dollars already go to this place. Residential yard waste drop off has been free for years. I went today and found out they now charge. OK, I get that... but it's $14.95 for up to 2,000 pounds. So, whether you have 10 pounds or a ton it's fifteen bucks just to drive in and out. Won't be back. read more
