My first visit to Ohio city nails, inside of the salon was fine - things were clean and chairs were disinfected between uses which was great in light of the pandemic. My nail technician was so sweet and so kind. Everything was totally fine about my experience, but when I was asked about what color I wanted, I said a pinky orange. I ended up with a very bright orange that the tech picked (don't nail salons usually let you look at all the colors on the wall and let you pick your color by looking at the bottles?) kinda strange... but my nails turned out pretty nice, but did have one bubble and a rough spot and one bleeding cuticle. prices were pretty good, but no raving review here... read more

I decided to get a manicure and pedicure, as I was the first customer of the day! The prices were reasonable. I paid $63 for a gel manicure and regular pedicure. My manicurist was lots of fun and very patient. This salon is full service as they do lashes, waxing services, nails and permanent makeup and more. It was my first time coming here the people were very talkative and friendly. But the manicurist that did my nails whos desk was by the register,I watched her work on a regular customer she took the time and effort to make their nails looked perfect. When she got to me which was about an hour left before closing, she rushed to do my nails and there is no problem in that just as long as you know what you're doing.She was so bad, One Nail was crooked from a nail repair and not actually a nail repair because she just threw some acrylic over it and didn't even form it which I had done before but it wasn't done correctly .the nail polish was peeling I had ripples in my nails,polish was unevenly laid buy the cuticle.I only got a fill-in & polish but by the next day, 2 of my nails had chipped at the ends,$27 gone down the drain.bad experience I will never go there again. read more

I have been working in the Catastrophe Unit for 1 month straight 7 days a week from 7am to 7pm, so to have a day off I really wanted to get my manicure and pedicure. I came in as a walk in, the wait wasn't too long. The man who did my hair was fairly new but I still decided to give him a chance. When he removed my polish and shaped my nails, I advised to him that there is still red nail polish from the before polish that is on my nails, he ignored me and painted white over it and still missed some areas. On top of that I have air gaps and runny polish. I usually tip before the finishing of the manicure in which I did in this situation as well, I didn't expect this poor of a job to be completed. My nails are really embarrassing considering my nails are white with remaining old polish still on it and has a runny polish look to it and I got gel, I am very upset. I got a pedicure Friday, no top coat. I got them redone on Monday. The worst mani ever.

It's a NO from me. After 4 attempts to get here ( the other 3 the salon was closed even tho they said they were open according to their hours ) i called, MADE AN APPOINTMENT to have dipping powder applied, get there and they tell me they don't do that. Okay cool, but why tell me that on the phone and make an appointment? Not to mention the girl who greeted me had her sassy little Latina attitude on and I'm not the one for that. You're running a business, make sure you know what products you provide, what services you do and don't offer , and make sure your staff has professionalism because it can get ratchet quickly. The first time I came here I was treated kindly and the nail tech seemed really sweet, so I came back today. The moment I walked through the door for my 2 pm APPOINTMENT (key word in boldface type) the owner of the salon gave me the dirtiest look. I tried to dismiss it and not take it personally (I had a rough week. Maybe it was me and I was deflecting?) at first. When I made the appointment the day prior I made her aware of a couple things: I needed to soak my nails off and I had a time frame. She made it clear to me she could get me out of the door in less than 2 hours. When I sat down at the nail tech station the technician was quite busy. I waited 15 minutes just to get a bowl of acetone to soak my nails in. This is a quick step that could have been done while I waited, and saved us both time. As I sat there the next hour and a half (yes. Wow!) soaking my nails she took her time beind me on a client all the while complaining about many of her clients out loud, which I found to be extremely rude. After this long wait and she is finally done with said client I realize my meter in the street is almost up, and ask if the assistant can pop in a couple of quarters so my car didn't get a ticket. I notice my acrylic is almost soaked all way off, and having been to many nails salons over the past decade I realize all she has to do is pop the rest off. She berated me for taking my fingers out of the bowl to scrape or file off excess acrylic, which all nails techs in my experience do with this service. She then continues to yell that I will be there until 6, 2 hours later than stated, and a long 4 hours after the service had begun. As anyone could imagine, this upset me as Friday is my day off and I have more to do than get my nails done. She stated also that "she was busy with other clients" but I made it clear to her that is why I had made the appointment in the first place and that is why I had the inquiries I had the day prior. She then summons the owner of the salon, who gives me a gruff look and demands ad explanation from ME. I'm in tears at this point and explain what I'm explaining here on yelp right now. She doesn't care. Coarsely tells me "I don't know what you're on." (I was tired) files off the rest of the acrylic, and yells at me that she can't service me and I need to leave. I have never been treated so poorly by any establishment. I would rather live with fungus on all 10 of my nails than ever walk through their door again. Today was my first time visiting Ohio City Nails. The shop is easy to spot directly on Lorain. They do walk ins which is a bonus for my busy schedule. Overall great service as I came to get a pedicure and wax, but the Indian woman who serviced me suggested I get a thread instead and at no extra cost and I was VERY impressed with her threading skills!!! My pedicure was also impressive considering my workman's long neglected feet would've been quite the job for me to handle alone. The staff was courteous, quick, and efficient. The only reason I'm giving Ohio City Nails four stars is because I just got home to admire my lovely pedicure and found that my sock had stuck to one of my nails, indicating that the polish was not completely dry on my right big toe. This is what I had feared before leaving because I didn't wear sandals so I figured I would need more time to dry. The lady assured me I was completely dry, though I wanted to sit longer for an assured guarantee. I would definitely highly recommend and I would go back but I would request to sit longer. read more

My first time going and I will NEVER go back !!! It took a hour and 45 minutes for a fill. One thumb had to be done 6 times and the other 5 times because the polish wouldn't cure/dry and was wrinkled!! Another tech even tried to fix them and it took multiple try's !! My nails are bumpy and uneven. They are rough on the edges and only one very thin top coat applied so my nails are rough and bubbles on some. I've been getting my nails done for over 25 years and have never had these problems before. I was trying to use a local but that was a bad decision !!! I will never go back !!! read more
