Sweet Haven ticks all the boxes: various small candy in bulk; taffy in bulk; old-fashioned packaged candy; higher-end chocolates; Jelly Bellys; and of course FUDGE. It's a dangerous and delightful place. I'm not sure about the prices. This stuff *seems* expensive, but since you don't buy an armload of candy very often (do you??), it's hard to tell. So just go ahead and treat yourself (and your kids I guess, but mostly you, because sugar is bad for kids) and see whether you can make it last beyond the journey home at the end of the trip.

They have lots of the small candies and old fashioned things. They do not have a huge selection of bulk/bin candy though and this is why they lose a star. A five star candy shop has everything I ever dream of from chocolate covered honey comb to bridge mix to sour candies in all animal shapes and sizes. I guess most of their stuff doesn't melt though which is a plus in the summer.

I don't know what this farm market is like during the rest of the year, but when we visited in late summer, there was a lot of fresh produce for sale, including lots of local blueberries and tomatoes. They had so much produce that they even gave us a carton of yellow cherry tomatoes for free! Yeah! I love free things! The tomatoes were super sweet and delicious. We mostly stopped to use the restroom (yes, they have a public restroom) and to grab something for lunch. They have lots of different varieties of sandwiches, all with local ingredients. I got the turkey and white cheddar sandwich, and it was excellent. They sell half sandwiches and whole, and I got a whole sandwich because I was hella hungry. They also have a refrigerated case of salads, like pasta salad, potato salad, bean salad and the like. I got a tub of the pasta salad, which was perfectly dressed (not too oily), and had shaved carrots, grated broccoli and cherry tomatoes. It was excellent, too. Barden's also sells whole pies, donuts, cookies and other baked goods, which I was tempted to buy, but I was trying to be good. But now that I'm sitting here writing this review, I'm thinking of the blueberry pie I saw sitting on the stand, and I wish I would have bought it! Dang it! If only Barden's wasn't so far from me.

This being my first ring, I wasn't sure about the fit, though Ward advised that a ring should "pop" over my knuckle to ensure a true fit, but I insisted on a ring that fit loosely and comfortably. After much ado, trying on different sizes (and arguing over who would pay) I left the shop with a beautiful Claddagh ring. Though within the hour, I realized that Ward had been right, the ring was in fact, too big. I called him, explained that I'd make a mistake on insisting on the bigger ring and he insisted my boyfriend and I come back to get a ring that fit. After sheepishly apologizing while trying on a smaller size, he said with a smile "If this is the worst thing to happen to me, today will be a great day!" Ward's geniality and concern of my comfort with my precious ring will ensure that I always make a trip to Biddy Murphy any time that I'm in South Haven and I encourage all visitors to stop in.
