And I found she had some other discontinued patterns that our other dogs have sported. It was Christmas in spring! She even offers bookmarks that Lupine will make just for Pet Expectations, and custom patterns only available from Jill. Sometimes her prices are even a little lower than buying direct from Lupine. She may not always have stock on hand, but will get it. If you can wait, helps to save a few dollars. Besides Lupine, Jill has an extensive list of other pet products you might not think you need until you see them. ;) Jill's communication and customer service are phenomenal. She's lovely to speak with. Always get a personal thank you email for an order and another when the order ships. She's even called to let me know an item wasn't in stock and did I want to wait until she got it, or cancel that part of the order. Shipping to US addresses is only $2.50 for orders under $49, after which it's free. And she offers little gifts with each order. :)

The owner, Jill, personally handles the orders, and is as friendly as can be. She is very customer service oriented. DOESN'T EVEN DESERVE 1 STAR -- EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED…read more I am genuinely so disappointed and thoroughly shocked by this experience. We went into PetSmart to buy a 50-cent fish, and somehow this turned into the most ridiculous experience. The employees wanted me to tell them the exact dimensions of my tank and basically everything that was in it before they would sell me the fish. Like... am I supposed to have the exact measurements and entire contents of my fish tank memorized off the top of my head while I'm standing in the store?! I came in to buy a 50-cent fish, not take a pop quiz about my aquarium. Then they told me they would not sell me the fish because they didn't think I was bringing it to a safe location. Excuse me?! You have no idea where I'm taking it, what my setup looks like, or how I care for my fish, yet you decided I wasn't providing a safe environment based on a few questions I couldn't answer perfectly on the spot. And this is what REALLY gets me: PetSmart had well over 200 fish crammed into a small tank together, but they refused to sell me ONE fish to put in my own larger tank, which is actually bigger than the tank they had all of those fish living in. If that store tank is supposedly acceptable for hundreds of fish, then why is my much larger tank supposedly not safe for one fish?! The fish was 50 CENTS. What more could I possibly be asking for?! I wasn't asking for some exotic animal or something unreasonable. I wanted ONE little fish. Apparently, though, I'm expected to spend $40+ on a new tank because the tank I already have supposedly isn't good enough. If there is a specific tank size required to purchase a fish, THAT NEEDS TO BE CLEARLY ADVERTISED BEFORE CUSTOMERS WAIT IN LINE TO GET A FISH. Don't advertise a 50-cent fish and then suddenly tell people they need to spend $40+ before they can take it home. It is also pretty ironic that PetSmart will put the fish in a tiny plastic bag for you to carry it home in, but then act like you need an extremely specific setup for it to live in. If these standards are so important, they should be consistently applied. And honestly, the employees' attitudes were the worst part. They were incredibly rude, dismissive, and acted like they couldn't care less. I understand wanting to make sure animals are going to safe homes, and I completely support responsible pet ownership. But there is a respectful way to explain a policy, and this was NOT it. If PetSmart truly believes a fish needs a certain size tank to be safe and healthy, then PetSmart should make sure the fish in their own store are being kept according to those same standards. I left the store genuinely shocked that I was refused a 50-cent fish because they decided my home wasn't safe without even seeing it. The entire situation could have been handled politely and professionally, but instead the employees were rude and made me feel like I was doing something wrong. PetSmart, do better. Be clearer about your requirements, treat customers with respect, and maybe make sure your own fish displays reflect the standards you expect customers to follow.

They truly are concerned about pets. I have so much positive to say about Rhonda and Second Chance…read morefor Homeless Pets. I've adopted three kittens from them. The kittens were always very well taken care of and you could tell that they came from quality foster homes. Very reasonable, adoption fees, spayed, and neutered and current on vaccinations. I've also had the pleasure of fostering kittens with Second Chance. The owner does what she says and supplies you with everything you need to take care of the animals. The commitments are not long and she is able to take the animals back as promised and on time. I recently was in there, and there was a woman trying to adopt a dog. It was obvious the woman did not have a home. The owner was not going to allow the woman to adopt the dog because she did not have a safe place for the dog to live. Although the woman was very upset, the owner was very professional and kind as she explained that she could not in good conscience adopt a pet out that didn't have a safe environment. percent she is concerned about the welfare of the animals. I will always refer people to them whether they're in the market to adopt an animal or if they're interested in fostering or volunteering there it's a great place with low overhead and a lot lot of love.!

The people who run this organization are incredibly charitable and put so much effort into these dogs and cats. I recently visited and they had three dogs available. They were happily running around inside their enclosures outside under the shade of the tree. There were lots of other dog runs/kennels that looks much smaller, but also like they were no longer in use. There were not a lot of animals to choose from-but maybe that's because they all found homes or were in foster homes when we visited. Hopefully that's the case-and they are getting closer to their goal of No More Homeless Pets!
