This is the only place in town I bring my vehicles for oil changes. They're a sister garage of Rush…read moreAutomotive (located behind MainLane) and they both do great automotive work! MainLane is only open on weekdays so I usually make an appointment to get an oil change. Although they do great work, it will still take about an hour for an oil change (even with an appointment). They also do "peace of mind" inspections and caught an issue with our truck's CV axil recently and was able to get the parts ordered and fixed the very next day. I'm overall very satisfied with this company and will continue to use the for all of my vehicle needs.

Good prices, but they tried to upsell me…read more I keep full synthetic oil in my van, and it had only been about 8k miles since my last oil change- about 500 miles more than I usually go, but still 2k less than the manufacturer recommends. First they tried to say I was 5k over the recommendation (probably based on an old Valvoline sticker- Valvoline stickers recommend a change every 3k miles as a default). When I reminded them it was full synthetic, they said well maybe it's only 2-3k over then. They said they recommend changing oil every 5k regardless if it's synthetic because "the dealership says 10, but they want your car to break down after your warranty expires". They showed me medium brown oil on a sheet of paper and tried to panic me into a whole engine oil flush talking about how dark it was. Among other things, they also suggested a $316 new battery, and a $195 washdown for an "undetermined fluid leak". I've checked my batteries recently myself and they were both fine. My van itself also monitors the main battery voltage when the van is on, and it's saying it's fine right now. I'll keep an eye on them, but they didn't even know there were two or where the second one was, so the whole conversation felt weird. All in, I declined $653.39 worth of upsells on the $89.12 oil change I came in for. I'm not saying they're bad mechanics, but it certainly seemed like they were trying to take advantage of someone they knew they wouldn't see again. The only way I got them to leave me alone about it was telling them I couldn't afford it. Just saying no wasn't enough.

I wish negative stars was a thing! I hope to save others from our same fate…read more This shop had my brothers truck for a YEAR! It went in for transmission work, every time we called to check in there was a different excuse as to why it wasn't fixed. When I finally got involved two months ago the owner Robert kept giving me the run around, "health" problems, labor issues, etc. while I understand life happens never in my life have I seen a company do such terrible business. Last week my husband and I went to the shop and my brothers truck was blocked in a field by several other vehicles. Tuesday we went to get the truck after telling Robert to have it ready. Robert had the truck in a bay and blocked in by other vehicles; so we couldn't tow it if we wanted to. Robert asked for one more day. We told him one day. Today he called me this morning saying a part was broken. I told him to either fix it or have it in the driveway for a tow truck today. We literally picked it up and drove it to another shop. The truck drove worse than when we originally took it into A Plus Automative. There's no telling what this new shop will find. To make matters worse as we left and I followed my husband in my personal vehicle, an employee from A Plus started following us. Very creepy. STAY AWAY! Read my other reviews for recommendations for our go to shop.

HORRIBLE HUMAN BEINGS- crooks. Bad reputation throughout the industry. DO NOT CALL THEM!!!…read more THIS COMPANY WILL BE SHUT DOWN SOON. BBB is not happy! Ty is horrible, and the older gentleman will cuss you out and then hang up on you, multiple times. lol, like a professional. They stole $85 from me because they had to "pay a mechanic to hook my car up to their diagnostics machine". I'm sorry? I've never, ever been charged for a diagnostics check. I have been charged for similar things, but I was ALWAYS warned prior to them hooking up my vehicle. However- I live in N Austin and my car broke down Sunday night in Giddings. Called the next morning to get it towed to L&M transmission in Bastrop. I told them I was financially not prepared for car work so please, please call before any charges were incurred. I was already scrambling to find funds where I could. "Sure ma'am, no problem" they said. I was quoted $5000 for my transmission repair & towing. When I told them I was offered free towing due to my major repair work needed. Ty then changed his quote to $4000. [$1000 for towing from Giddings to Bastrop? ~20 mi ] I couldn't afford the work needed on vehicle so when I told them I would have to get it picked up, they got all pissy and said, "Well you ain't getting yer car 'til you pay this bill!!" I told them that's why I was calling. To settle my tow bill before I had it picked up. They charged me $200 for towing and $85 to pay another mechanic to hook my car up to a machine, without warning. When I reminded them what I said, and that I'd be happy to pay the tow bill, all hell broke loose (I assume because this is an everyday occurrence for these piece of shit people). This is when the cussing, yelling, banging fists and hanging up on me occurred. I would call back and they would not answer. And when they did answer, I was put on speakerphone for the entire office to overhear my private conversation. I kept my calm- and would call back saying' "hi! I think we got disconnected!" They didn't pick up on my facetiousness, clearly, because they would laugh and say "nope! He didn't care what you had to say, he hung up on you." A manager is given that right? Ty the owner informed me of this. Bless his daughters heart, who works the front desk. She seems so embarrassed to be surrounded by such knuckleheads- but you can't do much when it's family, right?

I left their place with the same problem i came in with but 1200 less in my pocket. Overall i felt cheated and lied too. I didnt even want to take it back to have them fixed what the did wrong. Afraid i get taken again. Very sad and disappointed
