The inspection/quote was free, and they even got everything temporarily working during the visit. After diagnosing the issue, Jerry explained that we'd need a new breaker panel and to add proper grounding, since one of the breakers was burned and could become a fire hazard--especially with our home being from the 1940s. I was honestly worried it would be really expensive, especially since this was our first quote--but the price was actually reasonable, so we decided to move forward. They started the job the very next day--even in the rain. We felt bad because the weather was rough, but they stayed professional and clearly knew what they were doing. Nic provided a very comprehensive presentation and walked us through the process. They provided an initial estimate, then came for a home visit to verify a few things. The estimate did not increase. We were able to schedule an install for the following week. They also coordinated some asbestos removal work we needed done. Communication was quick and thorough. The installation was done by Xavier and his team of 4. INCREDIBLE. Very respectful of our space-- at the end of the day, even on the days where they were cutting holes in the wall or dragging out old equipment, you couldn't tell they were here. Xavier was also great with communicating each day's activities and hours, and was mindful of my working from home and family dog. At the end of the job he walked through and explained how to use the system, as well as next steps for our permitting and inspection processes. There was a problem with a disconnected hose that was taken care of the next day. They also noticed some the asbestos abatement was not completed, and took care of communicating with the vendor to correct it. Definitely going to have to keep this company in my back pocket if I ever have any electricity…read moreissues... So I woke up around a week ago with a frig that had no light on when I went to try and get water. I started checking things in the frig and found 2 outlets not working. Then I found 2 more outlets in the Living Room that also were out. Everything else in the house was fine though. I reset the breakers and GFI switches. Nothing worked. So we rushed to get as much refrigerator and freezer stuff to a friend's house. But we needed an electrician. How could only part of the house be out of power like this? Monday I looked for a quote on Yelp. Never have tried before but within minutes a bunch of companies messaged me. Bayside Electric was one of them. Not only did they respond to me within an hour on Yelp, they also called and left a Voicemail. I talked to someone named Kaylee I think and she gave me the good news that someone might be able to come out in the afternoon. She wanted to call me back and double check to be sure. But within the hour, she called me back and an appointment for that same day was set. She also informed me of the rates beforehand. Chris was the gentleman who fixed our problem. He was super kind and professional when he arrived. He came with bags on his shoes to not track dirt in the house. He fixed our issue within minutes and educated me on the issue. Basically one of our breakers burned out so he just ended up replacing it. He also gave me two other scenarios, one being cleaning out the whole circuit breaker or the other option of completely replacing it. But never once did he ever feel like anything was dire. You know how you go to typical auto shops or even dealership and they make you seem like your car is not going to run the next day unless you get whatever they recommend fixed? Chris never did any scare tactics to make me seem like we were in trouble. It was so refreshing. When I mentioned that he said its because Bayside Electric was like his previous employer. Family owned so they aren't ever pressured to make sales on every service call. They are just there to help. So yea thats my story. If you are having any electrical issues this holiday, I highly recommend Bayside Electric. I can always get behind a company that doesn't want to treat their customers like a number.
