I've gone to ordering all of my office supplies on the apps since that became the only option back during the pandemic and I realized how convenient that is. However, I accumulated a ton of in cartridges. So I had ink cartridges that I needed to recycle for $20 rewards credits and went to OfficeMax in Evergreen Park, Store #6245, on 95th Street just west of Western.The THREE employees were polite and helpful, but I was baffled at the fact that they did not have TurboTax! Horrible customer service; ZERO stars. Did an online print order which was never fulfilled until I had to come in myself at 2:45 and I STILL had to wait. Totally defeated the purpose of ordering online and I was on hold for 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged I was on the line. Will not do business here again! I sent a emailed print job on Thursday while I was inside the store to have done on Friday. I was told by Bill that I would get a call Friday morning to come in to pick up my order. Bill told me I would get a call or email regarding my lamination order. My print and lamination job was $15 paid in full on Thursday. I never received a call or email, so when I went in on Saturday to pick up my order it was not ready, it was printed but not laminated. I had to assembly my order myself, I cut and placed the printed items and placed it within the lamination sheets myself. Then a very nice young lady completed my order. This location is under staffed and Bill needs to be retrained or replaced due to bad customer service skills. I give this location1 star. read more

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! We ordered a shredder from OfficeMax on 03/18/22. On 03/28/22 they delivered an "air purifier." I notified them immediately about the wrong delivery. Twenty (20) calls and 15 days later, OfficeMax still has not processed our refund. Every time we call, we are transferred overseas and receive a different answer. OfficeMax wasted no time picking up the air purifier, but they still have not given us a refund ... our purchase was over $1,400! BUYER BEWARE - DO NOT SHOP AT OFFICEMAX! read more

Me and two other people are waiting in line to utilize the Fed Ex shipping and printing services. We stood there and watched the rep help three other people. A lady walks up from nowhere to the counter (in front of us ) and he immediately starts helping her, and left us standing there. Needless to say it's never enough people in that department but a ton of red shirts walking around the store. So unprofessional ! This place was bare. Maybe because it's due to the pandemic. I was lucky to get the ink I needed. During these times I feel they should be more lax on the tax exempt for businesses. I brought my letter in and the lady gave me the discount but then told me I had to mail in a request form then they'll send me a card in the mail. I don't need all that. All I needed was the ink without tax. It was complicated. I had to go back for more ink and she was like I have to charge you tax. The take all forms of payment and has a big parking lot. read more

I visited this store yesterday (2.23.22) at approximately 7:35/7:45pm CST (I left work early to ensure I arrived before closing). The store was closed early and the doors were locked. No employees were present. I called today and asked the closing time. The employee responded that they closed at 8:00pm. Therefore, whoever is working the last shift decided to close the store before closing hours. This was a huge inconvenience. I am extremely disappointed. read more

The printer cartridges were not stocked properly. There were items missing as I located my items in a shopping cart. I was glad to locate the items and the location of printer ink cartridges was not clearly identifiable. I walked the store and had to request assistance to discover the location in the front of the store. I discovered the ink recycle program from another customer. I should of been informed of that during my purchase. read more

The customer service here is horrible I walked up to the print counter and wasn't acknowledged while the worker stood behind the counter and talked. Another lady walked up and we both just stood there and we had to wait until they finished their conversation for them to even acknowledge us and then my order wasn't ready. When the finally printed my order they just continued with their conversation and told me to go to the front and tell them I had 10 prints. I hate to complain but I was on hold for 25 minutes without any acknowledgement! When the gentleman in printing services (Ronald) finally picked up I explained that I had been on hold for 25 minutes and asked if that was normal. His response was 'that depends'. He never offered an apology, said they were busy...nothing...just 'what do you want?' When I asked to speak to the manager he responded that he was the manager of printing services. If I want the store manager that would be 'Telly' then hung-up. Total lack of respect. I live walking distance to this location but will never use their services again. read more

So I frequent this store to buy ink. Everytime I go in I wrestle with the thought of buying a new printer because of how much ink use. Out of the dozens of times I've stood in the printer area no one has ever come up to me and asked if I had questions or needed help. Today that all change. The store had a large team of people doing inventory. Marilyn who does not work in this location but is the store manager for the Hyde Park location came right over and answered all questions and explained everything thoroughly. I now know Laser Jet printers are better for business due to the volume of printing. I also Laser Jet ink is a powder substance so it uses less than an ink jet which is liquid. So thank you Marilyn because if it weren't for you I would not have made this purchase. I'm giving 2 stars because I cant believe no ever help me in this way. I live in Beverly but I might be traveling to Hyde Park from now on. read more

IT happened twice and first time she ignored my question and went into an office and pretended she busy, she has a bad attitude and not at all manager job fits her. she doesnt belong there. read more

This location has by far the worst printing services. The self service machines are ALWAYS out of service and the staff behind the desk are completely incompetent. Even if you email your documents ahead of time expect to have a wait even if NO ONE is ahead of you in line. Do yourself a favor and head up the street to Fedex! If you want SERVICE, DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE. I have gone there 3 times, within the last week. I would like to have my printer connected, and was told the IT person was not there. I went back Sunday, and was told the IT person left early to go to church. Tuesday, I called to see what time the IT person was going to be in. I talked to the person, and was told he would be leaving shortly, however, Nancy, would be able to take care of everything. I went to the store, asked for Nancy, one of the clerks told me that Nancy wanted to know what I wanted. At that point, I realized that she was too busy for me, a paying CUSTOMER. I just wanted to pay, to have my printer connected remotely ASAP. Tomorrow, I am going to call Best Buy, to see if they offer this service. In addition, I am going to call their corporate office tomorrow. Additionally, this person, is suppose to be a supervisor. A more appropriate response, should/could have been, "I'll be with you shortly, or I am on my way." Not, "What do they want?" read more

Worst customer service ever. Corporate needs to come in and do an overhaul. I called on a Wednesday night to see if I could email a document over to be laminated and pick up in morning. Girl on phone had no clue what this was and if I could even do this. Put me on hold, never got back to me. Went in first thing the next morning straight to the back. 10 mins went by before someone acknowledged me, with two people in front of me 10 ft away. One other customer was there, I have no clue if they had even acknowledged her. A woman employee walked by and finally acknowledged me, saying she'd be with me in a few minutes. I only stayed another 10 mins before I walked out. Now on a campaign to bring a kinkos or staples to the area. This place is a joke. First time I have ever yelped. I had to. I have been in this store several times and have never had a good experience. read more

I bought a scientific calculator for $139.99 for my son who is a high senior from them back in June of 2014. The clerk told me about the extended coverage which I bought to cover item for 2 years. What Office Max didn't tell me was that the warranty would take effect AFTER Texas Instrument one year warranty,thus my actual coverage would only be for ONE year! I found this out when I called extended coverage folks at Asurion because calculator not charging fully anymore. They told me to call Texas Instruments for help. I talked to Asurion supervisor Melissa and told her that was crap and to refund my money for her company's bs plan. It seems Asurion is a separate company from Office Max and they sell their bullshit plans to customers of various stores. Avoid Office Max and Asurion if possible. If you must shop Office Max, do not let them talk you into buying one of these useless ass extra warranties. read more
