I had some items printed at the store and was not impressed with service. I stood at the front desk for almost 15 minutes along with other customers as no one was there attending the front. I came here on an early Saturday afternoon for a large copy job (apx. 500 pages), and some prints from a PDF that I had downloaded on my phone that needed to be on cardstock. I am tech savvy and know how to make copies and print from large copy machines at the office, but I have never been through the process of doing it via retail before and am unfamiliar with the process. I walked in, and went to the counter that was labeled "print." No one was there. Instead of coming to me, a female employee called to me from the corner register of the store. I explained to her that I had a large copy job and needed items on cardstock as well. I explained that I have not done this before, and need help. Instead of showing me what to do, she pointed to the opposite corner in the front of the store and said, "The printers are over there. When you need the cardstock, you need to go over there (pointed to the first counter I was at where no one was standing) and ask [insert co-worker's name] to put card stock in for you." I really got the sense that she did not feel like helping me and that I was an annoyance by coming in, and should have been born with the knowledge of the process. I told her I needed to print a PDF file from my phone, and she said, "You can't print it from your phone. You have to e-mail the document to... I think... I think it's [insert email address].com, I think." Didn't write the e-mail down for me, and it was too long for me to remember. I ventured over to the copy area. The copy machines looked very old. There was not a lot of work space. There was a notice taped to the printer that if you need to print a document, you have to download an app to your phone and send it from there. This was very different from what the employee told me. I downloaded it, and it didn't work. I think I looked clueless. The guy who eventually made his way over to the first counter that I was at when I came into the store came around to answer a question from another customer. He didn't seem super helpful to that guy, and didn't ask me if I needed help before returning to the counter. I took my $250 worth of business elsewhere. Awful printing service. Did the job wrong and wouldn't even fix it. Very unprofessional and both sales staff who are managers where rude.

I have been to this store several times - mainly for printing business copies/items. I have filled out Officemax's surveys after my bad experiences and never heard back. I do not find their staff to be friendly. Sometimes a newer cashier will have good customer service, but overall they are crabby. They do not look at or preview your printed items before giving them to you. More than once I've been handed copies where the entire image is not on the page, though I select "size to fit" or whatever when printing. If I ask it is always my fault, and sometimes they fix it, sometimes not. Do not use this store, the fedex across the parkinglot is much better. read more

I walked into this OfficeMax last night a few minutes before closing time. (8:57-8:58) I needed to get some copies that I sent to them for printing. I asked, as a matter of fact to the guy who was close to locking the doors, "you're closing soon", he gave me this pissed off look and then said "the F word", so I could clearly hear it! I couldn't believe it. I said "wow" and then he muttered something to himself and kept doing that as the NICE people at the service counter were getting my copies. I was told this guy was the Store Manager as well. What?? Nice way to treat customers! SO unprofessional! Yea, I know retail people can have bad days, but, this guy should be fired, today. I've already filled out their survey regarding what happened to me last night. If you can at all do it, avoid this store. Doesn't deserve anyone's business as long as this guy is running the store. Had some laminating done here this week. The man delivered excellent and friendly customer service.

I had some basic photo-shop work done. Some work had not been done correctly, and files were saved in the wrong format. During this experience two of their customer service reps made off hand comments, were very rude, and essentially blamed their work-load for their rudeness (even though I was first in line, was paying, had paid before, and even allowed other customers a head of me while they struggled to understand how their equipment worked). Only one customer service rep was knowledgeable enough to complete simple tasks efficiently, while always remaining professional. The skill level among staff varies significantly, and less experienced service reps seem to be allowed to compensate with rudeness. However, their manager John will blame you for bringing it to his attention, treat you with suspicion, and run the clock up while making small talk (and not working) while over charging you. I have had better experiences at other Officemax stores. CUSTOMER BEWARE, THEY WILL BLAME YOU FOR THEIR SHORTCOMINGS, WHILE EXPECTING YOU TO PAY FOR IT. read more

Bought a laptop for my son 20 months ago for less than $450 for Christmas. The Chanhassen location had sold out of the product, so we bought the computer at the EP store with agreement from the Chan store they would support it. The laptop malfunctioned after 17 months. We delivered it to Office Max in Chanhassen, MN, ten days ago and paid a $100 minimum for repair. We just minutes ago got off the phone with the repair technician named Lily who informed an additional $400+ would be needed to complete repairs. Moreover, Office Max currently has the same computer listed for $449--more than $50 less than the repair. We told them to send it back and we will repair it ourselves. Do not buy from Office Max and expect reasonable support. read more
