But for smaller sales - this might not be the place. I wanted to update my bedroom with a few new pieces. Came with measurements and a floor plan and my designer came up with a really creative way to set up my room. Sounds great - right? It was, until when the furniture was delivered, I discovered my designer had ordered the wrong size dresser/chest unit. It fits in my room but not in the way I thought it could be arranged. I called the store immediately, the designer came to the phone but offered no apologies, no options. It's a custom piece, of course, so I can't return it. But I am deeply disappointed and will not use this particular Ethan Allen again. Buying furniture should be fun - and for the price, their customers should be thrilled with how the room turns out. I can't dump tens of thousands on furniture right now - there will be plenty of business for them over time.

Ordered custom furniture for a new home that was being completed. Unfortunately there was an…read moreexplosion in the home just prior to purchasing it and I was forced to postpone the delivery of my furniture order (had nothing occurred the order would have been able to be delivered on time). This is where Ethan Allen customer service fell apart. Other vendors gladly agreed to hold my orders for many months with no issues due to the unusual unforeseen circumstances Ethan Allen refused to extend the time of holding my furniture frequently citing the terms of the contract that I had signed and that it "wasn't their fault". They wanted to force me to pay outrageous storage fees and to pay for the furniture in full, site unseen. I was forced to secure a unit at a storage facility near the property and have the furniture delivered there. This is still an expense, but much cheaper option than what Ethan Allen was going to charge me for storage. They even had the nerve to not deliver the complete order to the storage facility. They had to make a 2nd delivery to the unit a week later with the missing items. The storage unit is near my new home but is a 200 mile round trip from where I am temporarily living. So I had to travel a total of 400 miles because of their negligence with the delivery. Manager Barbara and salesperson Deborah were absolutely abominable and have zero compassion or customer service skills. I realize what occurred fell outside the parameters of their precious contract, but this was a very unique and unusual situation which required them looking past all that to help out a customer. Shame on Ethan Allen. They represent themselves as a high end store...when you are purchasing. Once the purchase has been finalized their true colors shine through. ** I live in Congers NY. We moved up to Carmel this past spring - the previous owner of our house had tried for weeks to set up a cleaning, but couldn't get anyone to respond, so they purchased a gift certificate from Schech's for the cost of opening the pool and gave it to us when we closed on the house. My husband called several times and tried to get someone from Schech's service to commit to an appointment. After receiving no reply, he made a trip to the store in person. The salespeople said they would communicate with service, but we never received a reply. I finally sent an email to the website to see if anyone would reply, and received a response from Barbara Schech-Freer. I replied that we had a gift certificate and were extremely flexible on which date the opening would take place, only asking that they put us on the schedule as soon as possible. A week went by with no response, so I emailed a final time to ask for the cash value of the gift certificate, since we were forced to go elsewhere to have the pool opened. No reply to my second email was ever received. I understand that it's a very busy time of year for the business, but it shouldn't be this challenging to receive a simple reply. If they had told us they weren't able to take us on as a client, I would have understood and not written this review. To completely ignore us this way speaks volumes about the importance they place on customer service, and so I suppose it's just as well we signed a contract with Strongman Pool Service instead. Strongman's team is prompt, thorough, reliable, and reasonable. They send us an email with a photo of our pool after every service call, along with detailed notes about what was done and results for each water test. If you own a pool in Carmel, you have options other than Schech's. Based on my experience, I highly recommend you explore those other options.

There's an upstairs with a coffee table, a bean bag chair and two chairs (and lots of artists wares for sale on the wall). The sausage I asked for in my Eggs Benny was delicious! They were clearly homemade sausage that had a nice rosemary flavor. My husband's breakfast star was the chef made ham steak slices, and the rosemary sourdough toast. Yes, I recommend the food here! We were rather disappointed by the temperament of the person we assumed is the owner... when asked if they would please lower the music a little, because I'm healing from a traumatic brain injury (and it was blasting commercials and music; it wasn't a pleasant music track or album), said with an attitude "Sorry I can't control where the speakers are", and from that point seemed a lot less friendly. Her attitude didn't ruin the taste of the food, but this was a special outing (my first in 3 years since falling on black ice), near Goodspeed Opera House. This is a touristy area and people that run breakfast/brunch spots are usually friendly and eager to help with small requests. Often interactions with the restaurant staff adds greatly to the experience. Her sour grapes and refusal to help me feel comfortable by lowering it a smidge (I was already wearing noise cancelling ear buds, just so you understand how loud it was and that she didn't turn it down even a tiny bit), made breakfast less nice. We won't be returning ~ there are so many restaurants struggling to survive after Covid, we'd rather spend our time and money there.
