She listened attentively, and immediately understood she needed to escalate. It was an excellent call. Then comes manager Fernando... Fernando proposed options, clarified constraints and limitations, and he ultimately delivered exactly what I was looking for: a super comfy desk seat, at a great price. We are talking excellent customer service--as good as it gets. I've been coming to this office Depot for years, and I always find what I'm looking for. The prices are always reasonable, but the customer service is the best part. And my last visit was so exceptional, that I decided that I finally needed to leave this location a well deserved five star review. Employees are friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, I don't live in the area and it was the earliest appointment for a pre-TSA checkpoint application available for my needs. Application agent was very polite and thorough. Sorry to say the ladies restroom was atrocious. I felt as if I had entered a sewer tunnel. I can see why a key is needed to enter so unsavory characters cannot use it, but alas, someone did! It needs to be hosed down and disinfected immediately! I should've taken a picture, but I didn't want to spend any unnecessary time there. The lady has a history of telling people to leave. Other negative reviews refer to her gesturing customers to leave. The script is "You raised your voice We asked you to leave. You're refusing to leave, So we call police" The asking to leave is further Unfair and intentional provocation. It's an escalation. SCAMMERS!!! Do not buy from this store ever if you don't want to get robbed!!! Tracie Parsons the General Manager gave the worst customer service. I paid for a $500 Visa gift card from this store. It was declined when I tried to use it. I found out the card was not loaded and was not activated via the Visa gift card customer service. I was advised by the Visa customer service to go back to the store so they can help me fix it. But all Tracie Parson told me is that as far as Office Depot is concerned, they have activated the card and that there is nothing they can do about it. She sent me home with an empty, zero balance gift card that I paid $500 for. It's just the worst experience. Parsons even said that she "doesnt know" where all the cards I have came from inciting that I am scamming them?? How dare she when I have the printed receipts that have the card numbers matched on it. How can a store treat a customer like this??? I have all the receipts, I called Visa customer service in front of her but she wanted nothing to do with it. She didnt care if she sold me an empty zero balance card and charged $500 for it. WHAT A SCAM. I know this can be resolved because the Visa Customer Service told me that the store only has to call them to resolve the issue and have the card loaded but Tracie Parsons does not want to do anything about it. I have already filed a complaint with the BBB as this is a very UNFAIR practice. I FEEL ROBBED. I want to warn you guys to NEVER BUY FROM THIS BRANCH. As a proof I attach the PAID receipt of the gift card and the card itself. Called to see if I could make photo copies there, the gentlemen who assisted me was pleasant and helpful in answering my questions. When I arrived during my lunch break during both visits, there were no line. There are 2 copy machines and are really easy to use. After completing the photocopying, you obtain a print out of your activity at the machine which you take with you to the cashier to pay. The machines are in excellent condition, are clean and all copies came out nice and clear. The work station next to them provide some office supplies and a cutting board. I used their paper clip remover, stapler, and pencil. :) Self Service: B&W for 8.5x11: $0.12/copy (I did 98 pgs total on 2 different trips) Color for 8.5x14: $0.61/copy (I did 4 pgs total) Staff whom I encountered were all pleasant. When the copy machine had an issue and did not print out the activity sheet during my 2nd visit, one of the cashiers reached out to another associate from the back who came by promptly to fix the issue. I had a great experience this place despite of negative reviews. Maybe I just lucky that I found a good employee that works there. I don't know his name but he's about in his 60s Asian guy. I was looking for office desk and he was quick to assist me and answer all my questions. Overall I was very pleased with the good deal that I got and the kind of service I received. I researched online and they have the best price and no extra charge for delivery. The furniture arrived on time, assembly was a bit challenging since directions are just illustrations not written but I was able to manage to put them all together by myself which gave a sense of a great accomplishment. My mom ordered hand sanitizer online and it said it was ready to pick up so when she went in she told the cashier she ordered hand sanitizer and the guy in a rude tone said, "we don't have sanitizer, we haven't had it in weeks" and told my mom that he was gonna cancel the order so then my mom asked for the manager but the cashier didn't want to go get her before canceling the order first but then the manager came out and gave us our order and then asked the cashier "did u even look"? Franny and Kristina helped me track down Avery products that I desperately needed for the holidays, pulled the stock for me and had it waiting behind the counter when I walked in. They even went "above and beyond" by pulling a selection of pop sockets because I had mentioned in passing on the phone that I needed a new one. This is the go-to place for my wife when she needs to get printer ink - and she'll buy random office things from time to time. We appreciate that they have a recycling program that benefits the consumer as well. I am knocking down the review though because last time I went, which was during back-to-school season, the line was super long and they had two registers open - and for a while only one. A manager came but all he did was help out one of the people at the register with something. Some people were so annoyed they left the line and some customers walked in, saw the line and left. How a manager sees the long line and doesn't man a register himself or get additional help is beyond me. Other than that, the employee who ultimately helped us was nice and we got out of there with what we need. 5 stars for products Minus 2 stars for poor preparation for back to school season and a seeming lack of awareness in adjusting accordingly. read more

I stopped in to this Northridge Office Depot to make some copies, and to pick up some basic office supplies that I needed for a project. I love the fact that on their phone app you can jump in line as it were much like making a reservation for a restaurant before you get there. Not knowing how busy they would be, I made my reservation and headed in. Sure enough, when I got there there was a line at the copy area. I discreetly tried to tell the woman working behind the counter that I was next in line based on my reservation so that people would not think that I was trying to cut ahead. She pretty much told me too bad I needed to wait in line. Once I got to the counter, and I told the woman exactly what I needed. She took the job for me and then disappeared. I stood there waiting for about 10 minutes not knowing what was going on. Another woman that work there finally came over and I asked where my copies were and she called the other woman who apparently had decided to go on a break. The woman that went on the break left my work sitting on their copy machine and never said a word. I understand that this particular location is very old, it smells pretty bad, and is not the a pitta me of what anyone would perceive a decent office supply place to be. However, Customer Service is customer service. And customer service at this location does not exist. read more

They moved their printer ink from one side of the store to another since the last time I visited. They didn't have a section(printer ink) properly closed off or any signage saying customers not allowed and I walked towards it not knowing it wasn't allowed because it's a shelf against a wall in a store. Two employees at the same time said something to me and I didn't hear them well so I asked for clarification on what they meant and they I guess repeated what they said the first time around and both at the same time in a rude tone. Apparently, when you ask employees here for clarification they rudely reply. Next time I'll shop online or at another retailer instead of dealing with unnecessary abrupt employees here. read more

As with most Office Depot locations, as long as you don't need to rely on the employees to help you find/decide on something you are good to go. Most employees here are just here for the job and aren't too knowledgeable on the products that are sold there. Which is fine if you know that's what you're going in to. I've come in a few times to just pick up a few supplies, but most recently we came in to buy a new office chair since it was at a great price. As expected, we asked the employee if the 2 boxes we saw at the entrance were the only ones they had and we got just a 'maybe? I'd check back with all the other chairs over there.' I guess it's better than nothing, but I personally would have liked more. But once we decided on the chair, we put it in a cart, had an easy, lovely checkout experience, and went on our way. read more

They called my wife told her the order was ready, we show up to the store and no bossy knows anything about the order. I give them her name number and anything else they asked and they couldn't find it. Cashier even doubted me making sure I placed it In the correct store, so I get a a little closer to the printing each order shelf and find the order in about 5 seconds. I ordered an item online for store pickup. When I parked I looked at the email and chose curbside, which liked me to a page of their website. The website then told me to provide the make, model, and color of my car and once I had, said someone would be out to see me shortly. I waited 10 or 15 minutes and even tried resubmitting, but no one showed up. Finally I got out of my car and walked towards the door, for the first time seeing a sign by the door saying "Curbside Pickup Here" which is not visible from every entry and part of the parking lot. When I got close to the door, a gray haired male employee said "Are you the curbside pickup?" I told him I was and had been in my car, like the website said. He told me I was supposed to come up to the door. I said again that I was following the website's instructions. He told me two more times, very condescendingly, that I was in the wrong and should have magically somehow known to the door in direct opposition to what the website said. When I repeatedly pointed this out, he finally gave up and just said "okay Ma'am" while walking away. His voice dripped with condescension the entire time, and he NEVER apologized or referred to it as a misunderstanding. He wanted it to be clear that it was my fault from the start. Even if it had been my fault, which I fully disagree with, that is no way to treat a customer. This place is practically walking distance from me, but I don't plan on ever going back. I needed something from this store on a Saturday. 15-20 people in line waiting to pay for their stuff. The line is moving very slow. When I got near the front of the line I discovered what was causing such a delay. The cashiers are signing up some of the customers for their reward program. I understand that the management wants everyone to join their program but you have to allow some discretion when their is a line. Most of the stuff you sell is available at other stores and on line. No one wants to wait in a long line, especially in these times. read more

I went to this store today and had a horrible experience. Cashier Julie was being extremely rude. I felt like she was not only being rude but racist as well because she kept ignoring me and just helped the Hispanic patrons. When I brought this to the manager's attention, he said his name was Fernando. He had no skills to de-escalate the situation. I really don't think he is the manager or has the qualifications to be the manager. He had no training whatsoever to listen to customers. Kept acting like a know it all and didn't even bother listening to customers. He kept saying that I had no right to feel like how I was feeling. If I felt like I was racially targeted, that's how I felt ! He didn't even bother to listen. He kept saying maxicans are more racially targeted. He was arragont, rude and no customer service skills. He said get out of my store and stood by the door. This is to a long-time business customer who has done thousands of dollars of business. But Imagine if there was a trained manager here, instead of this Racist Fernando, who could have simply listened to the customer's complaint, apologized, talked to the cashier later on and handled the situation. The manager told me all epsom display printers where hollow shells that were for display only. I told him I was sure this one had ink in it. He blew me off, so I loaded paper into the fucker and printed a printer status sheet. It's fine and dandy that they don't wanna sell me their floor model they don't have to lie to me like I'm a freaking idiot. Every single printer there was a completely functional printer the dude straight just lied to me just to shut me up. Also the entire time that I'm doing this they got there "Toughest" Employee guarding the door like I'm gonna fucking book out after I fucking drank a soda. Just fucking staring at me the whole time. Standing by the door and as soon as I went and got in line he stop standing by the door so that's exactly why he was doing it. I spent 87 bucks at the store I gave the lady 100 bucks and told her to give the rest to her fucking security guard. Only thing that dude stopping his freaking by the hospital after I fucking run them over like a fucking Mack truck if I decide to go out the door and he tried to stop me. Yet another TERRIBLE experience at Office Depot. In need of replacement printer cartridges, I went to the Office Depot website. Found the proper cartridges and wanted to pick them up at the store. After hours of chat online and searching, I decided to go to the store and was sure they would help me. NO and NOPE. The manager, Gregory, was irritated and condescending. With a nasty snarl on his face; he suggested he would help me with an online purchase. I needed the cartridges today as the printer wouldn't work without it. At that point with his nasty stare, I threw my arms up and walked out. I found them cheaper on AMAZON. What has happened to service today.
