So it's not quick or efficient service by any means, also no respect for people's time. If you wanna have laminating done, you will wait 15-20 minutes for it to heat up. Cool I said I'll go next-door and get some Pet supplies that I need for my class. 30 minutes later I return, nothing is laminated. Turns out someone did not load the laminator or whatever that means. So you have to wait for that. Another 15 minutes, nobody shows up. I had a limited amount of time to get this task done for my students: my conference period. So now 45 minutes and can't get the task done because I'm out of time. This is not the first time this has happened. Both times AFTER the fact, the employee literally said I suggest you go to FedEx for this. Really? You're turning customers away? To top it off there's two employees working in the office section where you get copies and laminating and other stuff done. Well, I wish you had suggested that to me when I arrived, that would've solved everything. I definitely don't recommend coming to this location and I definitely won't be returning. read more

Replace management or shut the whole store down. I'm not sure when it got this bad as I've had a previous decent experience with this store however today was just ridiculous. With such a large store you'd expect to see more than one employee working. I went down all the aisles looking for someone. Nothing in sight. I saw that the person at the printing area was already helping a customer and had a line so figured someone else had to be in store for the floor, cashier something. After some time I finally saw another employee however after making eye contact with me she chose to stand near what appeared to be a break room ( she was not on break) instead of actually help. This happened 3 times before someone else came in to work behind the printer counter. After I finally finished she finally went behind the check out area. Clearly whatever convo she was having was more important than communicating or offering assistance. Side note they charged me double the price of my items as a service fee ; what a joke Stick to the other locations !! read more

I must say that the first person I saw and asked for help was Omar and he told me he could not help me, he just pointed me to the self service printer machine. I was stool for a couple minutes since I didn't know how to use their equipment. Omar told me he could not help me and that's why it's called self service. I was shocked when he told me that. What ever happened to costumer service. He said I won't help u but you can ask her if she wants to help you it's up to her. Johana helped me get it started and I got it right away. I always order flyers for my business from a different location and Seth who works printing is absolutely amazing, however they recently moved him so someone else printed my flyers. I requested and paid for color ink, however as you can see the top was color and the bottom photos were black and grey. I was closer to this store so I returned the flyers at this location and the person who helped me was Julie. I walked in positive mood I didn't really care to complain just wanted to return them. She wanted to argue whether this was color or not. I said "ma'am I do not want to argue with you, the island is suppose to be blue not Gray" she cut me off and said that's how color is but I'll return it, not wanting to fuss I just shut up and didn't say a word until she processed the return. I did not want to return her energy which was completely uncalled for if you were going to refund it just say "I'm sorry they didn't meet your standard, let me give you a refund". I suck at fixing images, but Nick took the time to correctly size and print them for me and even gave me tips on how to efficiently and cheaply complete the project I needed them for. I only come to this Office Max as a last resort. The staff are usually no where to be found or completely indifferent. Examples: One time I was looking for a printer toner and saw a guy not doing anything so I was going up to him to ask for help he saw me coming, but right away he turned and asked a pretty girl in a skirt who was minding her own business if she needed help. Can't say I wouldn't do the same thing if I were in his shoes, but still, be smooth about it, bro. Another time I was at the help at the customer service with nobody in line and was told to come around to the other side so I did. There were 3 people there with one taking out the plastic theft deterrent casings they use for inkjet cartridges and handing it to another guy who was putting it on a shopping cart. They made me wait for about 5 minutes without even telling me they'd be with me shortly. I think I walked out at that point and even wrote the company and their response was pretty much "well, what do you want us to do about it?". So overall, the staff is useless here. Fortunately, a new Staples opened up a bit closer to us and I was happy to give them our business. read more

I spent over 3 hours today trying to apply my rewards certificate to my order, and she was the only one who knew exactly what to do since the website was experiencing technical difficulties today. I talked to 5 different customer service reps at the customer service number and store employees, but she was the only one who patiently solved my issue! I walked in and waited at the customer service area for the three employees to finish their jovial conversation at the copy area. Seeing that that wasn't going to happen I walk over to THEM and ask how I get my Internet order.? The girl "sitting" on a stool tells me "do you see that red area way over there?" Then the tall guy not behind the counter doing nothing but talking points to the kiosk and resumes talking. I walk across the store (I'm handicapped) and figure out the orders are alphabetical by customer name and find my package. I needed some notebooks and notecards to take with me back to college, so I came here since the store is situated close to my house. The notecards were fine. The notebooks, however, are one of the worst and most frustrating purchases I've ever made. Even the lightest use (that is, turning the pages and carrying a notebook from point A to point B) results in the pages becoming completely unstuck from the binding. I've gone through an entire roll of tape just trying to keep all of my precious pages of notes from falling out. Some of the tape-secured pages end up jutting out past the notebook cover at odd angles, and are getting creased and ripped as a result. Additionally, all of that added tape is preventing the notebook from closing properly. It's embarrassing to take the patchwork monstrosity to class, but if I were to switch to a new notebook, I would lose all of my previous notes. Talk about a catch-22! Additionally, even though I bought the notebooks off of OfficeMax's so-called 'clearance' shelf, I paid more than what comparable notebooks might have cost at Wal-Mart -- and theirs probably wouldn't break immediately. Add in the price of all the tape I've been using, and the literal hours I've spent trying to keep the notebook from disintegrating, and you've got one *pissed-off* customer. I cannot wait until Amazon wipes these guys out of business. Until then, they'll have to subsist by ripping off schmucks like me. Do yourself a favor and never buy products from OfficeMax. I don't know if they normally carry inferior products, if they carry products with poor quality control, or if their suppliers leave products baking inside of the supply trucks until they fall apart. I don't understand how people can be a manager here nor why they hire disrespectful and lazy people here. Came here to laminate 30 menus (11x14) on a Thursday night 8:30 and they said the copy service was closed because the network was down. I understand that. Things happen. So the manager and one of the workers wrote a post it saying to get it done by 9am and had my name and number done. However this is what i am NOT okay with: (!!!!!!) I called them at 8am because the workers from Thursday night said to call them at 8am, and they said the copy/print center will open at 9am. Called them at 10:30 and they were saying she has not done them yet. She couldn't even find them at first. She cannot get it done because it's 30 menus too much for her. That's fine again because I understand customers walk in and out but if you can have them done at 12? It'll be 1 1/2 later. Rudely, she replied. I mean I'll try but i can't get it done by that time. Like seriously ???? I'm a teacher. I know how to laminate things and it does not take 3 hours to laminate 30 big sheets of card stock quality paper!!!! The last two times (within the last month) my experience with customer service and friendliness were excellent. Today I bought a paper shredder. They showed me the various features. I made my selection and the staff member carried it to checkout and waited for me while I paid for it, then he took it to my car. It was even on sale! When I got it home and set it up (not much to do) it worked perfectly. Only time will tell if the shredder is durable, but I have every reason to believe that it will last a long time. Prior to going to the store, I phoned them to inquire about the availability of shredders. The person who answered the phone was courteous. When he was not sure of the answer to one of my questions he got the store manager on the phone and he was able to completely answer my questions and took time to be sure I was satisfied with the answers. The previous time I referred-to, the store was busier. It took a bit longer to get someone to help me. Once I got their attention, the rep was very helpful and courteous. He had to go to their store room and dig around to get me the answer. It turned out they had a delivery coming in and he checked to see if it was on the delivery. While I waited, I had time to think about the fact that it might have taken longer to get to me, but there were other customers who also were asking questions. The rep had not simply put me off by saying something like, "If it's not on the shelf, we are out of it." read more

When I kept pressing as to why I was told they need to record in their system the 3 digits code on my card. I refused to give them this info and cancelled the transaction. I submitted a poster online to have printed at office max in Meyerland on Thursday night at 7pm. It said it would be ready by 7pm on Friday. I called on friday at 3:40pm to check on its progress. They had not even started on it because they did not have the paper I requested. I asked why they didn't call me or text me, so I could choose a different type of paper. They said they were busy. I asked for the manager and told her what happened. She said they shouldn't have done that and apologized. Big whoop.
