As the Staples near the Target (off Jacks Valley Road) is long gone, this Office Depot is pretty much the only choice in Office supplies superstores. I've visited enough of their stores, that when in need of something (e.g., binders, boxes, folders, etc.), it's pretty easy to know where to go. I've to this Office Depot a few times (see above shopping list), the last being to make some copies and ship out a package. Regarding the later and considering my Genoa address, I've learned to give the local Post Office a lot more attention, being that it's a bit of a longer drive. read more

Office Depot, Carson City (Fairview) I drove down from North Lake (about 50 minutes) to purchase a laser printer. I typically shop locally up in Incline at Rainbow Office Supply, but they didn't have the laser printer in stock that I needed that day for a last minute project I had to have done the next day. I crossed paths with the store manager while shopping for the printer and he gave me red carpet customer service - along with another woman who had even more questions than I did! He showed me the options in my price range and even found one in stock that I hadn't looked at online! I went ahead and decided to buy a bunch of other office supplies I had not planned on (no, seriously ... the hubs set a budget for me before I went down there lol, which I had no problem exceeding lololololol). The cashiers were SUPER helpful and very friendly - so uniquely so that I bought them both a soft drink while I added one for me to my purchase! The printer box was huge and the store manager offered to help me out to my car - but it was like the hottest day of the summer so I told him I could manage on my own. He insisted and when he managed to fit it into my Honda CRV I was SO grateful I didn't have to do it on my own (I'm short, chubby, and kind of strong but the size of the box would have been a bear to get into the small space on my own lol!), COVID has made it impossible for businesses large and small to find and hire good staff. Most businesses (particularly the large ones) are suffering because they just don't have anyone with the customer service skills needed. For the STORE MANAGER to jump in and BE THE CUSTOMER SERVICE example on this day, was epic! I have only great things to say about this store, from great customer service who handles all mail service and copying jobs, to the various products they sell, and the postal services offered. I appreciate their various writing and recording materials, home office supplies, home office furniture, and home goods. EVERY time I've entered the store, it's Always Clean, Organized, with a Large Selection of office supplies for businesses and home use. Each time, I entered the store, I am Always Greeted and Treated Professionally with curtesy and genuine care. I have often used their copiers for important documents to scan, print, copy, or email for quick deliveries to recipients, in which has been a God sent service. They offer self-service, or paid service for printing and mailing which is always handled quickly and professionally by staff. I bought a $12 stapler, got home it was broken. Returned it the same day instead of doing an exchange they gave me a gift card, instead of letting me grab the stapler and doing the return the lady had me stand back in the long line after I had already stood in that line. (Which is not good customer service if you ask me) I decided to come back the next day and get the new stapler and they wanted to charge me 6 more dollars. After I had already paid $12 for the same stapler the day before. Because I didn't have my receipt she put $6 on the card I'm assuming. The lady didn't even let me know that. This is absolutely ridiculous. I will not come back here. I just wanted a stapler. Work on your customer service. You're in the service industry. You don't treat people this way. read more

Staff is okay. They don't really seem to know what their talking about. And the friendliness of the interactions are hit or miss. I went in to buy a computer and for an associate in that department. His answers were short and he basically just read the tag to me. They have a great selection of office supplies but I would rather give my business to a small local shop especially when the customer service isn't great. read more

Really disappointed in this location. I worked here many years ago (2015 - 2017) and used the print services well after I quit as the team was very efficient and reliable (from about 2017 - mid 2022) for my business, but recently (last 3-6 months) the current team doesn't seem to care as much and can never seem to get my print orders correct like the old team could. It's really a shame as I don't want to use a different location, but really tired of bringing in my own supplies for them to print on and them messing them up and needing to buy the supplies again. read more

They way overcharged me for an item that showed a cheaper price online and a second time they scanned price for printer ink only 83.00 online yet their scanning showed 159.00 which was for the extended printer cartridge in a box for just the regular cartridge ! I went to Office Depot to have some memorial cards made. I did not realize there was a 3 day turnaround, but the woman behind the counter graciously squeezed my project in, as it was small. (15 bi-fold cards) The cards turned out ~almost~ pefect. The font on the printed interior portion was tiny! I had used Times New Roman 16 font, and it had been reduced to what looks like 8-10. It doesn't even look right on the page, as the original should have filled the page, and the end product is about 2/3 of the page, and not even centered. When I brought it up, I was told that I must have an old version of Word so that is why the font size changed. I told them that, no, I have the latest version of Word in Office 365. So then they said that I should have submitted the document as a .pdf which would not change. Good to know after the fact. There was not even an offer of a discount on the cards.... Now I know for the future to submit projects in .pdf, but it would have been nice if the person who made the cards had at least centered the writing on the page. So, overall, the cards were good, but the font should never have changed for the interior page. I would go here again, but mostly because it is the only game in town. In the past I have done my printing at Staples, but there is not one close by. read more

We purchased the Norton software for 10 devices on sale for $50. It was a deal until we got it home and the code was invalid. Norton wanted access to my computer from India which I'm not going to do. Office depot wouldnt help me even though the manager said she would call me back. Ultimately office depot got $50 for an invalid code that I couldn't use. I stopped in to email two things and print them, she gave me the email address to send and she stated that she needed to help other customers while I emailed, which I completely understood, I stepped to the side and emailed my documents and returned to the back of the line when I got up to the counter, she stated "I got them but I need to help the customers behind you before I can print them" she completely disregarded my business, I was so offended that I just looked at her and said never mind and I went to the ups store and I was in and out in 5 minutes. Every time I go in they try to deny our tax exempt status as a business despite us having the card and neccessary paper work filed with them, and today was at least the 7th time that they did NOT honor their own in store marked sales price. Today's excuse for charging me $15 above the listed price was "There's nothing I can do sorry, theres no one available to check the price they are all ignoring me, and if I leave my post (so and so) will be PISSED AT ME." Over charges as result of flasely advertised prices over the years, have to be in the thousands by now...Buy online! Save money, aggrivation, and avoid shitty customer service. read more

They are way under powered with associates in the printing department. The line always takes forever to get through. I had a set of blueprints done here and they said they could only print 3 at a time because their program skipped pages if they did the whole project at once. That required the associate to spend all day on my 47 pages. The associate gave me the time needed to get the project done and I appreciate that but the manager doesn't do anything. How can you offer the array of services that Office Depot does and underman/undertech your building? The card machines and printing devices should be a fairly easy thing for a company providing web design, paper and printing services to get right. read more

THE WORST. on 9/26, the HP computer that I bought online was supposed to be delivered. No Show. On 10/1 I call and they said " Oh it was lost in transit, We will resend it and you will receive it 10/4." On 10/3 I get an email saying "we cancelled your order, please reorder the same item." Little known secret, Office Depot has a mailing center that ships USPS, FedEx, and (no longer) UPS. Been here several times mostly just for shipping services because it's much more convenient than waiting in long line at the post office. Service is always friendly, fast, and helpful. Today, I went to mail an Amazon return with a prepaid UPS label. The clerk informed me they no longer ship UPS (bummer), but he told me what the two UPS locations are in town and even packed & taped up my box for me! So great! read more

The staff is not too helpful...The women working there would rather discuss their personal lives with co workers than actually help a customer....We all have bad days--this store has bad years...After we bought a decent computer for $400.00 and had internet connection problems with it a week later, the store manager told us we had to return the computer to HP for exchange, We then worked on the new unit ourselves, and got it working with the internet...When we had more problems with the same HP PC 6 months later we paid these clowns in Carson $ 100.00 to "repair" it. Most of their staff seems a bit lazy and almost unresponsive at this Office Depot. Their main goal in life seems to be to get your phone number when you buy a pen from them...The Office Depot in North Reno (by the Del Taco) is a hundred times better store than this clip joint in Carson City. Been in this store 6 times, bought a variety of products, and we have yet to have a good experience. The Wal Mart on Retail Drive in Carson will also treat you better, and has better prices and a far better return policy on electronics. read more

It's a Sunday and the very worst happened. The 'On/Off' button on my HP tower died. No computer, no e-mail, no internet. This is now hell. So I took my computer to Office Depot in Carson City (775-887-9006) and was helped by a very savvy technician, Josh Mendez. He skillfully took my computer apart, cleaned it, fixed the errant button and provided very nice conversation during the intricate procedure. My computer is now quiet and behaving itself thanks to Josh, who I believe should be a model owing to his very good looks! read more

I was being helped with a purchase at one check stand, while a belligerent customer was berating the clerk at another check stand regarding some problem with gift cards. I was quite impressed with the professionalism of the clerk as he kept his composure in the face of unreasonable antagonism, attempting to identify a variety of solutions in between pauses in the customer's tirade. I brought in online printouts of monitors I was considering. We compared them to what he had in stock. I was constantly trying to talk to the store manager, Ro, but because he apparently doesn't believe in sticking to the schedule I can only assume he writes, I couldn't. His poor employees constantly take the brunt of customer dissatisfaction when he doesn't show up on time. His lack of respect to his coworkers and his customers make me not want to ever shop when he is around. He causes visible tension in his employees when they try to call out to him on their radio system and he ignores them. When he gives them lectures, in full view of customers, he talks to them like they are children with limited intelligence.
