My mom and I needed a sweet treat before heading back to our nearby cabin and we found Offbeet at the end of the road. It was just a few minutes before closing, but we were greeted with a warm welcome and when we were checking out they still even offered for us to eat our treats in instead of taking them to go. We declined because we didn't want them to have to stay past closing, and we picked items that were easy to eat on the go, but I wish we would have more time because the dining area, both inside and out, was so charming! I enjoyed my kitchen sink cookie and will make sure to visit again with ample time to enjoy a coffee on the porch the next time I'm in Brown County.

Nashville General Store & Bakery - Chocolate chip cookies

I needed some hydration with a little kick, so I stopped by Nashville General Store & Bakery for an…read moreiced tea. It turned out, they had to make my iced tea special, because they weren't allowed to use the tap water because of some boil order that was established in the area. OK! They were able to pivot and make me my unsweetened ice tea with bottled water, instead. My iced tea was great and just what I wanted. What customer service! I wish I wanted some baked goods while I was here, because this place has all of the homemade-looking baked goods. Peanut butter cookies in a Tupperware container, bread pudding covered in plastic wrap, apple pie in a metal pie dish. All of the baked goods look like they were made by someone's grandma. And they looked like they were labeled by someone's grandpa, carefully, in grandpa handwriting. Nashville General Store has a breakfast and lunch menu along with baked goods, with a big indoor dining room that you can sit in and enjoy your meal. Breakfast foods include pancakes, quiche and breakfast sandwiches; lunch options include things like sandwiches, soups, salads and sides. This place is also a store. You will find things like jams and canned goods, home decor, and lots more stuff with a country aesthetic. It's a cute place to visit to grab something to eat or drink, and look around.

The breading is a house recipe and is crunchy like an onion ring. Delicious! Each tenderloin is breaded and cooked to order and served on a house baked cornmeal bun. The sweet potato fries are served with a spicy jam for dipping. I wasn't sure but it's delicious! There is a shopping area with seasonal decorations and house seasonings and sauces. Mostly stuff you'll find all over Nashville. The dining area features mix n match furniture with a country kitchen vibe. You order at the counter and the food is brought out to your table. We spent $45 for lunch for two but it sure seemed worth it.

This place completely satisfied our cinnamon roll craving! My husband and I split the Maple Bacon…read moreCinnamon Roll and it was loaded with flavor -- sweet, savory, and absolutely indulgent. It was a bit rich for me personally, but my husband was obsessed and would order it again in a heartbeat. If you're in Nashville, IN, this spot is a must-visit! I definitely recommend going earlier in the day since they can sell out quickly. Otherwise, plan to order ahead and swing back. We were so happy we got there in time to grab one!

Several hundred sugary calories, straight to the dome. If you visit a place called Ooey Gooey…read moreCinnamon Rolls, you kind of know what you're getting into. This ain't no health-food restaurant. Just get the thing that sounds the most delicious (probably the thing that has the most frosting), promise yourself you'll work out an extra 15 minutes, and you'll be fine. In my case, I chose a classic cinnamon roll, because I'm a classic girl. But this bakery has 25 different varieties of cinnamon rolls to choose from! You can get a lemon blueberry roll, or a PB & J roll, or a peach cobbler roll, or a coconut creme roll. Then you can customize it further by choosing to add nuts. There's a roll for everyone here. My classic cinnamon roll (which is called the "original") was great. It was soft in all the right places, ooey and gooey as advertised, and just straight up yummy. I don't usually use the word "yummy" to describe anything. But if anything can lay claim to the "yummy" adjective, it would be a cinnamon roll from this place. I visited for breakfast, and because I'm not really a sweets-for-breakfast kind of person, I also ordered a bacon-egg-and-cheese croissant sandwich, to give me some protein for my first meal of the day. I loved my croissant breakfast sandwich almost as much as I loved my cinnamon roll! They don't have very many savory offerings here, but they do make a decent BEC (bacon, egg and cheese) sandwich, and they also offer an avocado toast and a breakfast casserole. The black coffee is great, and you dispense it yourself. Refills are free, because you're dispensing them yourself. Seating is definitely limited. I noticed that most people got their food to go, but there are a few tables inside, plus a few patio tabes outside.

When I visited on a random…read moreSaturday, I saw at least a dozen different flavors: wedding cake, cherry chip, peanut butter chocolate chip, strawberry, lemon and many more. They also had chocolate chip cookie sandwiches, frosted sugar cookies, cake pops and slabs of frosted cake to go. There was just so much sugary goodness everywhere I looked. We picked up a variety pack of cupcakes to go, and my kids loved them. The cupcakes are more on the smaller side, which is great with me because they are so rich -- you really only need two or three bites and you're satisfied. The frosting on the cupcakes tastes like it's a buttercream base. The cupcakes are meticulously decorated -- all of them had a sprinkling of edible gold, so it felt that much more elevated. Fancy cupcakes! If you want to make a big impression on someone, gifting a cupcake or two from this place will do the trick.

We got the Oreo, red velvet, and a big slice of chocolate cake with white frosting, which was my personal favorite. The cake texture was at once moist & fluffy.. The ratio of frosting to cake = A+. The frosting was not too sweet, which was lovely. Sugar Studio knows how to create beautiful and delicious cakes! It's one of my new favorite bakeries! Service was super friendly and parking was easy (they have a lot).
