I did drink what I could but NOPE didn't want to regret it
Maria C.

Found this place in route to pick up dinner. I was excited to try a new place and a plus ... it is a drive thru for adult drinks. I ordered 2 mixed drinks and that was it. One 24oz Mojito and one 24oz Long Island. Now I love these drinks (my husband and I both) I'm sad to report that these drinks were horribly made today. I went on a Saturday evening at about 6:30pm. I did my best to just drink them as I paid $21 total for the two drinks but down the drain they went. I am being as honest as I can with my review. I have now reason not to be. I told myself I would be doing a review because I was super excited this place was in such a random side of town. We tipped the ladies that were working and ended up getting a bigger tip back ... not to return!

Great service and even greater crowd! The people here are so welcoming and free popcorn to boot! Love the drink options and atmosphere.

Best place to go grab a drink. It's a place you go to just relax and get away from everything! Could not recommend enough

Great place to swing by or stay a while. More food options would be great but this hole is worthy of my return!

You go way to the back and down a steep flight of stairs. My son, his wife, and I left my wife and grandbaby in the saloon and headed down. When you get down there, you are suddenly in a beautiful Tiki bar with so many amazing things to gawk at. It sort of felt like waking up in OZ. We were the first people there, so we got to sit at the bar and watch our drinks being made. They have about 15 or so different specialty tiki drinks. Each one comes in a particular piece of glassware. I don't know how the bartender keeps them straight. He was constantly pouring different things into a shaker. Then he would shake it and pour it into the glass that was already filled with crushed ice. One of the drinks even had a smoking cinnamon stick. My drink was really good. It was the Three Dots and a Dash. It came in a barrel and was decorated with a skull toothpick that had three cherries and a piece of pineapple to represent the dots and dash. It was super strong! I was ready to risk it all and go for another drink, but it had gotten packed inside the bar. We could tell the bartender was stressing. They really need two for times like that. My wife spends the night at my son's house in New Braunfels every Thursday to give them a date night. Evidently, this is where they always go. I can certainly see why!

Really cool "hidden" bar under the Phoenix. It's really intimate so it's fun with a small group or…read moreeven a date. The decor is top notch and the drinks are so fun and so different. This is not a place to have a quick drink, as the bartenders really craft the art of the cocktail you order (expect 15-20 min for 2 drinks). I would love to come back and try more!

This is an interesting place with an interesting history. A…read moreformer schoolhouse that opened in 1871, the first public school for Black students in Seguin. It was made possible by the Second Baptist Church. It was called Abraham Lincoln School. In 1892 the school became part of the Seguin public school system. In 1925 the name was changed to Ball High School after its first principal and one of the founders. The school ceased being segregated in 1966. There is a sports bar here called Seguin Schoolyard (opened in 2024). However, the entire grounds are also known as the Seguin Schoolyard as they are an extension of the bar. This review is for everything because it's a really cool concept. There is a huge outdoor area with a stage that is kinda sorta giving Luckenbach vibes. Lots of covered and uncovered seating featuring picnic tables and deck chairs. A great outdoor stage for local and national performers. The outdoor space also has an outdoor bar for concerts. The grounds are lined with several businesses including a bakery, hair salon, art center for kids, cheesesteak shop, the namesake bar, shops, and more. What a great addition to Seguin! Heck, Paul Wall will be performing there in November 2025. The (indoor) bar itself is spacious and comfortable with bar seating as well as living area-style seating. The staff are super fun, friendly, and attentive. Family, kid, & pet-friendly.

There is really only two choices, a mac and cheese place and Mikey's Cheesesteaks which I will review separately. Definitely need more options, not sure if they have food trucks in the summer or not, but need more. Let's skip to the best attribute, the ambiance. Love the old elementary school layout, with the courtyard and various little businesses in the old classrooms. The bar is in what I assume was the old cafeteria, which was roomy with various seating options. There was a couple guitar players playing which was nice, and prices were reasonable. Now the low point. The afternoon bartender couldn't wait to get out of there fast enough. We asked for the game outside on the big TV as there was nobody there but us. She told us to ask the night bartender as she was about to leave (not sure why that was important and she was there another 15 minutes before relief arrived), but we had almost an hour so we got our drinks and sat down. After shift change we ordered round two and asked for the outdoor TV as instructed, but in the meantime someone had asked for the basketball game so we got a TV near us in the bar. Whomever had requested the outdoor TV didn't even make it to halftime of there game, but by then I didn't feel like moving. Great history, great idea, just lacking in execution at this point. I hope things work out.
