Damaged O2 Sensor
Brooke K.

No, I would not return to ORI in the future. No, I would not recommend ORI. No, I would not trust ORI. WHY? $3,000 suspension upgrade: · Reused Old Chassis Leaf Spring Bushings (5th photo). · Reused Strut Mounts and Rubber Pad (3rd & 4th photo). $1,000 Frame Rust Proofing: · Shredded O2 Sensor Cable with Grinder (1st & 2nd photo). Tried Hiding Damage. Would not Accept Responsibility for Replacing Sensor. DETAILS: Took my Tacoma to ORI for a suspension upgrade and frame rust proofing. I live in NVA, a 3-hour round trip drive from ORI. After picking up truck on a Saturday, when shop was closed, got less than a mile down the road when check-engine light came on. Pulled off the road, checked the code, discovered it was downstream oxygen (O2) sensor. After looking under the truck, observed visible signs of damage to sensor cable (1st photo). At that time, could not see the hidden damage until I changed out the sensor. Before rust proofing occurs, a grinder is used to remove surface rust from the frame. When I made my initial assessment, concluded wire had been damaged during the rust proofing process. To avoid another lengthy drive, decided to fix the O2 sensor myself. Considered what happened to be an innocent accident. That was until I replaced O2 sensor. After lifting the carpet to disconnect the O2 sensor, discovered there was no connector at end of the sensors cable, only damaged wires (2nd photo). At this point, I realized the damage was an obvious coverup. Sent ORI email describing what I discovered along with the first photo. I inquired about how they would like to handle this episode. At first, ORI denied it was their fault. ORI tried claiming I ran over something on my way home. When I showed them the second photo, ORI changed their tune. ORI offered to reimburse the cost of the sensor by writing a check, or by performing additional labor. Willing to put more thought into giving ORI a second chance, asked for additional time before deciding. After deciding on a "check," Chris, the owner told me a check was no longer an option. I would have to bring the truck back and ORI would reimburse me in labor for new work. During our conversation, Chris was dismissive of my concerns. Chris talked over me multiple times during our telephone conversation. Again, Chris implied I was the reason for the damage. If this fiasco wasn't bad enough, after spending $3,000 on a suspension upgrade, I discovered ORI reused the old strut mounts (3rd & 4th photo) and chassis bussing (5th photo). I was under the impression the work would include new strut mounts. I have an email stating the struts should have arrived preassembled, which means all new parts. ORI never informed me they would be reusing old parts. As the customer, ORI should have called; I should have been consulted on the reuse of old mounts. Chris's request to reimburse me in labor is poor service and unreasonable. After the experience of having ORI: · Reuse old parts without consulting me. · Dismiss my complaint. · Hide damage they caused. Why would I trust ORI? If I had additional work to be performed, I would have to take a day off from work; they were willing to inconvenience me in this way for a $60 O2 sensor they damaged. Also, why would I trust my truck and safety to a shop that doesn't accept responsibility for their mistakes, hides damage, and reuses old parts? When it comes to my truck, I want to be involved in the decision-making process. ORI shouldn't make decisions on reusing parts without my input. ORI blew every opportunity to make this experience better. Why would I return for additional work?

Gap from body to bumper

This off-road innovations. Shop came highly recommended to me to customize our 2023 Ford Bronco. After paying $5000 for the parts to have them ordered and waiting several weeks for the correct parts to arrive. I brought the vehicle in for approximately 13 hours of work. After our vehicle being in their shop for 4 days, much longer than expected, I noticed the rear ARB bumper was the wrong one. It was too wide where it stuck out from the fender flares by 1.5 inches on both sides. The shop service manager Timmy Rhoads told me it was supposed to stick out on either side of the flares and that it was made to fit the wide and narrow flares. This was a lie, and he knew it was not right. They also installed the wrong light and did not let me know. They gave me BS excuses, saying I ordered a single row light and not the double After several weeks of waiting and being told they the manufacturer again sent them the wrong bumper, we got it in, and it was replaced. However, the bumper was not level, so I brought it back yet again. Also, we had a hitch installed and wiring. The wiring harness did not initially work, and the power line was run o er the heat shield to the exhaust. After bringing the vehicle back, and I had to convince Jon that the manufacturer stated there was no reason for it to be crooked. The shop FINALLY got it or straight and corrected the wiring harness SO... since I was paid in full at $6729.00, and the work was not done correctly, I felt I should really take a look at the front ARB bumper and found this one to be crooked as well in facked it is off by an inch on one side front to back. I sent them another email on Sunday, July 16 2023, and I have yet to get a reply I now have to bring the vehicle to another shop to have the front bumper aligned properly since ORI cwont do. This will be more money out of pocket. It seems like their motto is Never Time To Do It Right But Always Time To Do It Over. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SHOP Save yourself a lot of headaches and bring your vehicle to a shop that will do the work you are paying for and do it right the first time... such poor business.

Excellent service. Had good advice with measurements and offset and wheels and tires and lift for my new look Tundra. It is like a completely different truck now and turns heads already. Thanks guys!

Was looking around for a shop that could install a lift kit in under weeks and was difficult finding the right guys. Called ORI and John helped significantly. I asked if it could be done and whether i should get the parts from them or independently and turns out he saved me 200 with going through ORI. Not to mention the factor of them getting my truck in ASAP. Guys over here were awesome and got everything on making it look exactly how i wanted (probably exceeded my expectation). Happy with the turn out! Thanks ORI

An individual named John, who I later learned is the manager here, was incredibly friendly and helpful.

And, after calling numerous other locations with no luck and rude staff, I called Midas. Amber answered the phone, with nothing more than hospitality in her voice. I asked her about the empty oil drums, and she asked me to hold. I waited less than 20 seconds before she returned with a response. I was told they did have a couple, and was offered them free of charge. Unlike a few other places that want anywhere from $10-30 per drum. When I arrived to pick up the drums, I was greeted immediately. That was a wonderful first impression. I was asked to back up to a bay and the drums were brought out. The gentleman loaded the drums in the back of the truck for me, and wished me a good day. Now, that may not sound like much to some, but as someone who still remembers how customer service standards used to be, I appreciated the hell out of this location. They have a firm grasp on what it takes to stay in business: The customer. I will not even bother with another location for my vehicle needs. This very small interaction with the team members here told me everything I need to know about their business practices. It's absolutely absurd to me that more places don't adopt the Midas way of doing business.

Honest technicians and manager!…read more I am a car enthusiast and have been around the block and know a service center or two. I brought my vehicle here for a third opinion because the two I received earlier at other places were polar opposites. I dont know the name of the manager at this place but he is simply awesome - knowledgeable and honest. What more can you ask for!! They fixed my issue and charged me only part of the amount because it was not fixed completely right the first time. Just sitting in the waiting area and watching the manager deal with the customers and giving them honest feedback and guidance is a testament to why this place is always so busy! Keep up the awesomeness..you have a loyal customer.
