I can't say enough about the service and quality of work at McCarthy's. I brought my 2019 Tesla Model S in for a tire repair and not only did they help me, they exceeded my expectations ten fold. They were fast, thorough and above all else as friendly as can be. Not only that they were fairly priced as well, more so than even Tesla service would have been. I am normally very particular about where I take our Model S and I can say without any doubt that I will be taking any and all vehicles I have to McCarthy's in the future. read more

Can't begin to say how great the guys at the Winchester VA #28 are! My family was in the middle of an 18 hour road trip and lost our brakes, it was a scary situation and we were very lucky we didn't hit anything. (Brakes are not supposed to fail that way) As I at first couldn't find anyone to work on my truck, I ordered my own parts, I ended up receiving a brand new and bad part, which helped to make a difficult repair even worse. Thaddeus, Josh and Chris and the rest of the crew went above and beyond to help strangers. We were treated as if we were old friends. And we couldn't be more thankful! read more

McCarthy's assessed my flat tire, couldn't find any leak, but replaced the valve stem, reinflated it, sent me on my way, no charge. I had damage to another tire, so their search for available replacement led me to WalMart, who not only had my tire size, but patched my damaged one with a warranty for the life of the tire. This kind of service makes bring out of state a lot easier, and having car problems less of a disaster.Please recommend McCarthy's to anyone who has tire issues. read more

McCarthy Tire Winchester replaced my trucks drive shaft U-joints in May. On July 10 the drive shaft failed because the clips were not seated correctly causing serious damage. The shaft wedged in the road lifting the rear and then slamming it back down to the road. Besides the drive train damage, the side dam airbags deployed, seatbelts locked and the fuel tank and exhaust were damaged as well as some suspension part damage. The truck ended up at McCarthy in Manassas and the nightmare begin. It was there 7 1/2 weeks to have the new drive shaft installed, a patch on the fuel tank and a little welding on the exhaust. Clearly it was not a priority to get my truck returned but I was fed plenty of lies I was able to see through. I ended up complaining to corporate and the project moved forward. I should mention there insurance, Federated, did give me a pay out which was not enough to cover all the damage. That war continues. They sent the truck to a collision center for the airbag repair but finding other damage Federated went MIA and so I am paying the difference and figure I will have to go the legal route. It is now Oct 30 and the truck is still gone and McCarthy shows no sympathy or care. I would recommend getting repairs done somewhere else. They do not stand behind there work and customers are not valued. I have made so many phone calls and emails but Federated Insurance and McCarthy will not step up to get my vehicle back to me. read more

Just got some new Bridgestone tires from here as we called them toward the end of their day and luckily they had tires that fit my car so, I got into the shop within 30min. Took them an hour to install the tires and over $800 later I was good to go on my way (I did find it a little odd they said I didn't need an alignment but so far so good). The guy at the register was very friendly, and they have a great tire policy... thus far I'd recommend giving them a go. If you're looking for an oil change that'll run you like $30 for a standard change. Parking is a little odd here as you do have to drive toward the end of the fenced-in area to park, and then enter through the side door for service. The downside was that a week later I took my car to my usual dealership and they were questioning about my tires not being balanced (although this was very minimal and is something that typically can happen over time anyway) and the psi being at 28 rather than 32 already. These tires have managed to increase my mpg by 1.7 compared to the Michelin and Yoko's I've had in the past so, that part is great at least. read more

RV DISASTER-I have a Winnebago RV that I brought into the Manasass location for service and inspection. The repair involved replacing a hard to find front wheel part that, due to my RV being an older unit,, was not easily available, according to the service manager, and had to be manufactured by a specialty co. That part of the job, I have no problem with. They repaired the vehicle, and, with the new tires, my bill came to close to $800. However, they forgot to do the inspection, and when I came to pick the unit up, they asked me to drive it out of a tight place, right behind a parked school bus. I asked that the bus be pulled ahead to give me room to pull out, and the representative declined to do so, saying it was an easy enough thing to do. My mistake, and don't ever drive your own vehicle on a company lot. In pulling the vehicle out, I rubbed the right side alongside a humongous tire, just inches away, resulting in over $5000 damage. McCarthy denied any responsibility in the matter, and I was stuck with the problem and the repair. Also, they broke a couple of other parts in the process of their first repair, which I had to replace. Their customer service was very poor at this location. If I could give them more than 5 stars I would. I came here after my brakes randomly stopped working and I explained them what exactly happened and they checked it out right this second. They told me what I needed to get fixed and worked out a price for me, they were very honest and didn't try to sell me something I didn't needed. Danny took care of me as soon as I walked in, he appears to be a very friendly and honest man. I'm so pleased with how everything worked out, I will definitely come back here. What started out as a decent customer-retailer relationship hit rock bottom. I have a small family business doing service work. We purchased older vehicles and they are paid for, so no overhead. One of my vehicles has tuerned into a money pit, and I've recently had to sink money into it. My last visit was less than a month ago. As I stood by my vehicle, which is older, and the service writer had to show the "mechanic" how to put the lift under the frame to lift my vehicle, the "mechanic" made the statement, "F***** thing shouldn't be on the road." Being at the mercy of the uhh "mechanic", I kept my thoughts to myself. The repairs turned into more and more.... $400-500. The vehicle sat for a few weeks after the repair. Equipment reloaded last weekend to the vehicle, and today, I show up for my first service call of the day, same problem. Called and told well it could be this other thing we didn't see then but we might be able to see it today. And well, the only person here to work on it is.....ding ding ding!....the "mechanic" that supposedly fixed it the last time. And there's a good chance there will be something else that will total $$$$$$$. I am taking it to another shop to have it diagnosed properly and we'll see where it goes from there. A++++ for the friendliness of the customer service. but D- for price. I needed some repairs done ASAP, and they said the parts were really expensive. However I checked the manufacturer's official website (contacted the local dealership as well) and the MSRP for the parts needed were three times less than what they charged me. Labor costs were reasonably priced. They did contact me every step of the way and told me how long it would take, which was great. I would go back for alignment, inspection, fluid changes and possibly tires, but for major repairs I'd probably go elsewhere. read more

These guys were awesome! It's rare to find people who care about their customers anymore. I had a nail in my tire and called the first place I could find on google. I didn't realize they were across town when I called but because of how nice Nathan was on the phone, I drove there anyways. They were crazy busy but he was ready when I pulled in and got the tire off my truck right away. Fixed the hole and got me out of there and back to work quickly. Nathan and the guy whose name I didn't get who did the actual repair were both a pleasure to work with. read more

This place is the best. Been going here for years and years. My Camry has 310,000 miles on it and I partly have these guys to thank for that! They don't gouge you with prices and never ever tell you to do work if you don't need it. I trust them totally....I'll never stop going here. read more

They did an alignment on my vehicle right before a road trip. The vehicle felt shaky the entire way. Once at my destination I noticed excessive wear on my tires that only had 3000 miles. I took the vehicle to a tire shop local to where I was and found out the drivers side was way out of alignment. I had that shop do the alignment and the vehicle felt better. When I brought the receipt and showed McCarthy tires that there alignment was off badly and caused excessive wear on the tires. They initially said they would refund the alignment, $70 and balance the wheels and rotate them for free to make up for the tire wear. Then after they were done with the balance and rotate they said it was needed anyways and that i would have to pay for it, which just happened to be $70. I have since taken my vehicles, family vehicles and friends vehicles elsewhere. 15 people total and 27 vehicles total now no longer go to McCarty tires and I'm working to up those numbers all the time. Avoid them at all costs. My experience was with the shop in Front Royal so I can not speak for their other stores but I will never give any of them my business after this experience. read more
