I brought my elderly dog in for a 4th of July visit. It was supposed to be a 4 day stay. I…read moreexplained to the attendant that he was having incontinence issues, and I was told not to worry, that he would be well cared for. I asked about extra services and was told that since it was going to be such a busy weekend that he wouldn't need anything, and she talked me out of the extras. When I picked him up, I was shocked at how badly he smelled of urine. There is no doubt that they just left him to lay in his own urine the whole time I was gone. The smell was so bad that I had to drive home with the windows down and then took him straight into the shower when we arrived. I don't know if he got any attention or if he was actually let out at all. The urine smell suggests that he wasn't. They could have done so much better. I would not recommend that anyone leave their pets here.

On Oct. 1, 2020, Erin DeMars made FALSE allegations of abuse against La Tour and Elk River Kennels. She stated that her bulldog Olive had blood all over it and was bleeding when she picked it up. In Nov. 2020, a district court Judge determined that DeMars' statements were fabricated and grossly exaggerated. The judge issued a restraining order against Erin DeMars to stop her defamation against the La Tours and their business, Elk River Kennels. A few weeks ago, my review would be 5 stars. Now, however,…read morethey have repeatedly reported they're under-staffed, and today upon picking up my dog from daycare, not only had she been allowed to chew up her harness, leash, and towel (which has never been an issue when staying for a full day of daycare previously), but also somehow she was able to chew through the plastic ziplock bag that contained her food (which was also still full of food, which again has never been an issue on previous days). Although I was told that dogs are not allowed near the bins where the bags of food are kept, I was told by a worker while picking up my dog that "it looks like she got to her food bag," which is made of zip-lock plastic, and now I'm concerned with how much she ingested. Overall, the Lucky Pets staff is aware they're understaffed, but continue to accept dogs into their care that they do not have the staff to properly/safely watch and take care of. Extremely disappointed after how great it was a few weeks ago.
