It has been 2 years since I use services at Stone Mountain Pet Lodge. I still give this location a 5/5 stars. The staff members are friendly and knows my dog by name. (They know my dog's name, but don't know mine! LOL.) My dog has been using their doggy daycare and I know she likes the place because I need to be careful when I say "doggy daycare." The moment I utter those words, she thinks we are going to Stone Mountain and will wait at the door! They will verify the person picking up the dog, which I feel safe knowing that no one is going to run away with my dog. I can also add other family members so they can pickup my dog as well or be notify of any emergencies in case I am out of town (but I'll still be notified as well.) DAYCARE: Pretty self-explanatory. I can drop off my dog before I go to work for a full day for about $40/day. The benefit is that my dog will interact with other dogs and will nap all evening when I pick her up. They will also feed her with the provided food. GROOMING: It is crazy that their pricing is more affordable than the big box stores like Petsmart or Petco while providing the same care. LODGING: I feel at peace knowing that my dog is OK while staying at Stone Mountain. This is the third time I use their lodging service. I like to pick the Adventurer suite because it gives my dog the opportunity to go to daycare during the day and then stay in her suite from evening 'til morning. There are lots of options to add-on like treats, report card, walks, medication, etc. Check-in and out is simple. On my last lodging service, my dog stayed with them for a week. I was able to coordinate with them to provide a bath. Overall, I am happy with their service and will continue to go to Stone Mountain for my dog's needs. read more

This is about the grooming service my golden doodle received. I noticed after getting her home she had a cut by her left eye and was shaved to close under her armpit. Scratches and redness. Also should mention that I do not think they even clipped her dew claw nails. This is very disappointing. I trust my dog to a reputable place for a full golden doodle grooming package and this is how I get her back. I'm disgusted. They said she was really good so how could this happen if she wasn't fighting it. I will never take her there again for grooming and will not recommend this place to anyone. I do bring her to doggy daycare and have never had any issues with that, of course I do check in on the webcam constantly so I would definitely call them if I see anything that doesn't seem right with that. read more

We have used other kennels and doggie day care locations and we have nothing but good things to say about the staff and facilities. Friendly, responsive and lots of room to spread out. The outdoor areas are particular nice in comparison to others. read more

My dog came home twice after daycare and a stay with half day group play with swollen, sore, raw, and irritated paw pads. The surface that their group play is on is far too rough and uncomfortable for most dog's paws. She could barely walk after staying here, and she's a young energetic dog. read more

i have been a customer at stone mountain pet lodge for many years. I called to schedule my dog for a trim and groom and the manager, Kara, said they are requiring a credit card to be held on file in order to book the appointment. i said i would not authorize this and she then refused the service. i asked to speak to her direct supervisor and she said that she doesn't really have one and that she reports to the owners. i asked to speak with the owners and she refused. I have never missed an appointment in all the years that i have brought my pets here. this is a violation of privacy to require a credit card to be held on file. i'll never do business with this place again. I am attaching the complaint screen shots from this business as well. I did end up speaking with one of the owners, Maggie, that seems to have the need to create lies to try and respond to BBB complaints and tries to further justify their poor service. She tries to say in her response that i was "verbally aggressive" towards the staff and that "forced" them to refer me to the owners. She also decided to make up an additional story that i had been "verbally aggressive" towards them in the past. Very strange method of attempting to justify their poor service by making up blatant lies. Maggie and David; why do you feel the need to lie? in the age where everything is available online to be shown and with recorded phone conversations, you'll just look even more foolish than you already do. just own up to your issues, fix them and then move on. see attached BBB statements. read more

I would give no star if that was a choice. I left our cat, two years old for four nights and five days. On the fifth day, we went to pick her up. I went into the area where they call the cat condo as I wanted see how she would react after being separated for many days. I was shocked to see that there was this big cloth covering the entire front leaving the cage completely dark and no air, and right away, I could hear hissing sound coming out of there. she did not know that I was there yet, and she kept hissing in the dark. I never heard her doing that before ... as I was approaching I asked the attendant next to me why and how long she's been covered like that and she said just two days. I asked why, and she said that my cat was being nervous.... I uncovered the cloth and she was shocked as she spent the last two days in the dark not knowing what was going on outside. As she realized that it was me, she stopped hissing. It's been two days since she came back home and she is not the same cat yet. we brought her blanket, food, her pet, and two pompoms but they were still in the bag the same way I put in there. She lost so much weight and her hair was shedding in clumps. But most concerning was how she is still afraid, and clinging to me. Her bed was set up in the closet and that was her favorite place to sleep Before but Now she won't go in there anymore. I called the manager to protest at the way my cat was treated, and he offered no apology. he said that that's the way that they do with stressed animals. I told him that someday, I hope he gets locked up in a cage completely covered in the dark for 5 days, and he went silent . Everyone, please do not take you family member here!!!! My cat is getting better, but I wonder if she will ever be the same ... and to think that she was in that cage completely covered with cloth for days no food and no water.... just breaks my heart. We brought our two dogs here for 4 days while we went out of town. When we picked them up, we were notified that they had diarrhea the morning prior to picking them up. Didn't receive an email, text or phone call that they had been sick. We picked up our dog like this. At minimum, they should have bathed him before bringing him out. We brought our dog here because our normal dog boarding location was full. It became pretty evident in the end why so many spots were available here. It normally costs in the area of $130 at our normal dog boarding location (Dog Days) for 2 nights of boarding and 3 days of play group. What was the price here you ask? $248! That's fine though, right? There has to be a good reason. $5 was charged, per meal, because we included a glucosamine vitamin in our dog's food bags. Their reason given for the charge is that they need special staff to administer the "medication". Let me repeat that. They need... special staff... to administer... vitamins that are already mixed in with our dog's food. Their 2nd reason was that some dogs have allergies to certain medications. So, apparently if you don't pay extra they let other dogs share your dog's food. They also charged an extra half day of boarding because we picked our dog up at 3, even though we paid for a full day of play group the same day.. Their reason on this one? They keep the room available in case we don't show up by the time we said we'd show up by. So I guess it's just guilty until proven innocent here... and regardless you pay... Overall, if you enjoy paying nearly twice what any other place charges for a neat building and landscaping (Neither of which your dog uses), then this is your place. read more

My experience here was really disappointing. I spent $993 to board my two dogs for five nights at the Blaine location. At first, I was really hopeful because the facility was clean and the front desk staff were friendly. I found the staff to be non-communicative and dismissive at the end of my experience. I spent extra on report cards (included in the $993) that turned out to be a piece of paper with stamps on it that you receive at the end of the visit. I had to call twice for an update on my dogs. When I called I was told that one of my dogs had not eaten in two days. When I expressed frustration about not being contacted sooner, the staff told me that they have a '48 hour' policy when it comes to dogs not eating, however, I cannot find anything about this policy on their website. I was told that I could spend additional money on a food topper for my dog if I was interested. When I asked to speak to the manager, I was told that I was not called because my dog was grazing on his food, which counted as eating. While no one ever apologized for not communicating this with me, they did comp a topper to give him for dinner. When I had let the manager know I wanted to pick my dogs up early that night (instead of the next morning as planned), she told me that I would be charged a $50 late pickup fee, on top of what I already had paid for the night that they were not using. The manager agreed to refund the night but took the $50 fee out of the refund (I told her the time I would be picking up). I CALLED AT 5:50 TO MAKE SURE I WOULD BE ABLE TO GET INTO THE BUILDING SINCE I WOULD BE ARRIVING LATE. TURNS OUT, DOORS WOULD BE LOCKED AND PHONE NUMBER WOULD NOT BE WORKING. I don't know how she expected us to get ahold of her and why she did not provide that information previously on the phone. When I came to pick up my dogs that night they brought our dogs to us outside. My 90lb German Shepherd was attached to his leash by his flimsy dog tag ring (not either of the two collars he was wearing). We were next to a busy road. The report card I received ended up showing that my dog had not been eating well for three days as opposed to two. While I am aware some of these things can come down to a dog's temperament, I found that the staff and care provided were poor for spending $1000. read more

On the outside, it looks like a fancy lodge in the wilderness. Has a large retail area. My dog loves going there. He's always excited to be dropped off. He usually goes behind the check in desk to say high to the staff. They are so friendly with him. I use them for boarding all the time. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOGS HERE!! They left my poor golden with feces covering him for multiple days without doing anything about it. No update, no call asking if they could give him a bath, nothing. Instead, they allowed him to be terrified and he now has a terrible rash spreading across his body. My German Shepard was also there and he came back extremely ill. My golden has been laying down with no energy and cry-whining since we picked him up. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE!!! read more

They did a great job! We didn't realize our lab didn't have his bordatella shot up-to-date when my husband dropped him off (first time kennelers). We were super stressed out because my husband was dropping him off on his way to work and I was already out of town. They arranged to taxi him to the vet, get his shot, and take him back to the lodge! It was so nice of them, they charged us minimally for it and made it so easy. He got groomed the day before we picked him up and he looked and smelled great when we got him. We came home to a happy clean dog and would go back anytime! The place is extremely clean and the people are very friendly! Definitely recommend! read more

I called well ahead of time to book lodging for my pet Stella and talked with Courtney. She did not explain that my dog would be housed in a suite without interaction with other dogs. When I showed up to check her in, I was told that it would be extra for doggy daycare. I explained to the clerk that I was not aware but my dog was worth the extra. She told me in a very snotty tone "Did you want to look for other lodging for your pet?" I told her well I don't think that is possible at this point since I was getting on a flight soon. I paid the extra for doggy daycare. When I picked my dog up, she had red lips and looked like she had chewed something for hours on end. When I got her home she started acting different. She would not go outside pee or poop and cowered when being led out. Her anus was inflamed and infected and I had to take her to the vet. Three weeks later and I now have to put her on a leash to get her outside! $419 at the vet for medicine and exam. I am not sure what happened to my beautiful baby there but we will never go back! read more

My pups absolutely love Stone Mountain Pet Lodge. Every time we drive up, they get super excited, and drag me to the door and to the back play area. I can tell they absolutely love it there, which makes me happy. We've used stone mountain for their doggy daycare services, boarding services and grooming services. We have had great experiences with all three. Our dogs love daycare (and we love watching the webcams so we can see them having fun). It's really fun to watch them tromping around all day with all the other dogs. Additionally, when we have had them groomed they have come home nice and clean. The decrease in star is due to the price. The prices here are really quite high compared to other places we have taken our dogs. My biggest issue is that their already exorbitant boarding prices don't come with doggy daycare which means my dogs would just be sitting in a kennel all day. Because of this, we always splurge to add daycare. To do this we are looking at over $110 per night/day for boarding and daycare for our two dogs in the cheapest accommodations. This is before anything else we may need to add (i.e. bedding/blankets, administration of medications, etc) which are an additional cost. Overall, I love this place but have a hard time with the price. We have boarded/brought our dogs to daycare at many other places that are anywhere from $30-$50 cheaper per day. That being said, we will continue to return if we are unable to get family/friends to watch our dogs for us as this is the closest place to our house with the best service. read more

I brought my dog to Stone Mountain for doggy daycare (orientation) for the first time. When I called to ask a question and reserve her spot, the people were very nice. However, when I got there, the staff was unfriendly and were not overly friendly to my dog, which was concerning to me. I no more left and received a phone call that my dog was nervous and not having it when they tried to do orientation. I thought to myself, "have they never had a nervous dog before? Can they really not handle a nervous dog?" They said they had another option for individual care. I asked how much that would be because I did not want to pay any additional money. That person did not know and transferred me to someone else. That person did not know either, asked someone else, and still could not answer my questions about cost. I finally asked for a manager, was transferred, and sent to a voicemail. I called again and talked to the manager and got more a feel of what was going on (apparently dog was showing teeth and hiding in corner). I have a very sweet dog. She is not ferocious! I found out it would not be additional money to put her in individual care so I said to do that. When she was picked up, a report card was not received as I thought we would be getting. This place looked beautiful from the outside, so I thought we would have a good experience. I was surprised and disappointed with the experience we had. read more

We did grooming for our puppy here. They did a good job grooming her coat but shaved off her whiskers and did not clip her nails. I don't know if they cleaned her ears. The groomer complained about my puppy for 10-15 minutes and said she was aggressive towards her and did not stop complaining. This is very out of character for my puppy as she is very gentle and sweet. They did not try treats to calm her down during grooming and kept complaining. I am very disappointed and will not be going back for any service with them. read more

Our dog has stayed here 3 times and each one appeared to be a positive visit. Previously, we had used "Top Dog Country Club" which is about an hour away and we had a couple issues there, so we wanted to try something new. The Facility is large, new, clean, and appears to be run like a well oiled machine. You pre-pay when you arrive and they guide your dog to his temporary home. I like the fact that you can order extras for your dog. We do two walks and two play times a day with a smaller kennel. I didn't see what the point was of having a larger/better kennel with a TV going, so we pay for more interaction with a little less luxury. Each kennel has a door to the outside and they open these doors often for the dogs to go outside (think how the Zoo might do it's doors) to a "run" where they can do their business. Price is reasonable for the peace of mind you get. We'll keep going. read more

I wanted to provide an update to make others aware of our most recent experiences. The time: late summer 2013. It was a sunny day, otherwise unremarkable. The trees were cascading soft shadows of fingerlings grabbing at the...whatever. Late last summer, we received a phone call that our dog had been kicked out of daycare and would be in a kennel when we came to pick him up at the end of the day. In an effort to summarize what was a VERY detailed ordeal, the gyst was that they had witnessed him pinning another dog down by his neck, which was, per their report, only the most recent in a trend of periodic aggressive behavior. Now, I don't want to be that mom who's kid can do no wrong, but we were FLOORED. We had never received any reports of aggressive behavior from Stone Mountain and this kid is submissive to the CATS at home! That said, they're dogs, so who knows what could have triggered him. Only, OUR dog came home with a broken tooth and a hole in his back. Stone Mountain didn't call us to alert us to his injuries. WE had to tell THEM. My question is, if he was pulled immediately following his "attack," then my assumption is that they conveniently missed the part where the dog bit my dog in the back, leaving a canine-tooth-sized hole on his spine. I get it. Dogs argue. Dogs tussle. But the lack of awareness and communication coupled with the fact that our baby came home injured, confused and dejected (seriously...he moped for three days, and anyone that loves their pooch knows that they can) royally pissed me off. And our dog took puppy training there, so they KNOW our dog. The coup de grace was when I called to report the injuries. They stated that they were unaware of the injuries, but that "...many breeds, such as pit bulls and Boxers, tend to be more aggressive." Those JUST so happen to be the two breeds our babe's mixed with. And what's the deal...a discriminatory boarding center? (Oh, and by the way..."pit bull" isn't a breed. Dunce.) It suffices to say that we won't be back. I'm a fun-loving, objective person, but you mess with my kid and there will be some furniture movin' up in this place. read more

I love this facility, and so does my pup! Aside from being a super clean boarding kennel, they also have many things other kennels dont. 1. Webcams! You can watch your pup 24/7 live if you really wanted to. I like this feature because I'm able to watch how the staff treat my dog, and how my dog interacts with the others. 2. 3-4 Large daycare play areas! The dogs are constantly moving around and have lots of space to play as well as rest without feeling crowded. They move the Plat equipment around too. The dogs never get bored. 3. The have fun activities for your pet. In October, they did a costume contest. Around Christmas time, they had Santa come bring treats. Plus, every morning they have a daycare activity for the dogs, such as ice cubes, bubbles, frisbees, etc. The list could go on and on. Yes, they are a bit more spendy, but for me it's worth it. We have never boarded our pup over night, but have brought her to daycare on many occasions, had her groomed there, and we have shopped the petstore. We are very pleased with the staff. We will be coming here for awhile! read more

I needed an emergency boarding for 3 days and this place was the only ones with room to take on another dog because of the Christmas holidays. My first impression was the facility is super clean and the girls at the front desk were all super friendly. I was also very pleased with the price. I dropped bear off at around 2 on a Friday and planned to pick him up on Sunday night. The total charge for the 3 days, 2 nights plus food,5 walks and 4 play times was $87.00. For a nice dog boarding place that is pretty cheap. When you board there you get a coupon for 20% off there toys and bones so that's pretty cool too. When I picked Bear up he had no issues. He was super happy and was not dehydrated at all. I will for sure be going back there if I need to board again. read more

Used to love this place. Have used them for many years with multiple dogs between grooming, weekly stays and even doggy daycare. Just recently in the last year something has changed dramatically and the way they run there business. I have booked four grooming appointment and the last four grooming appointments they have cancelled last min on me with no excuse to why and when they do the employees all tell you different reasons as to why so it obviously they all have been a lie to as why. This will be the last time I ever use stone mountain pet lodge if I can help it. So irritate that this is even happening. read more

We dropped off our dog Kody on Friday July 1st (noonish) and picked him up Sunday July 3rd (3pmish). When I picked up Kody, he could not walk, he kept falling over. I carried him to the truck and put him in his bed and drove home. When we got home, I had to carry him in as well. I put water and food near him, and he drank nearly a full bowl and ate all of his food while laying down. We noticed that his pad on his paw was all bloody and that he had a sore on his hip that he was laying on when I picked him up. Monday, he was able to walk a little, but needed help getting to his feet. I gave him his meds and food, and he seemed to start walking a little better, but still had issues getting to his feet. Needed assistance getting up. We knew something was wrong with him, as he is not usually like this. Tuesday, we went to the Vet (Arden Shoreview Animal Hospital (5 stars)) to see what was wrong with him. The examined him and found that he had a hot spot the size of a softball on his hip/side and and a sore in the middle of this hot spot, right where his hip bone was. It was worn almost down to the bone. They guessed that he was trying to get to his feet, but wasn't successful while at the kennel on a hard surface, thus the wear spot on his hip and pad of his front leg. The hot spot was mostly caused do to laying on that side in the same position for an extended period of time. Unfortunately, because of Kodys age (14.5) and the severity of the wound, we decided it was best to put him down. It would have been very difficult for him to recover and not have the same type of injury happen to his other side from struggling to try to get back to his feet, without laying on his wounded side. Our family knew Kodys day was coming, but we did not expect it this soon, or in this fashion. In his last checkup, the Vet said he was strong internally and the blood work looked great, but he had bad joints (reason for meds), and figured he had at least a year or two left in him. Kody has stayed with Stone Mountain 3 times in the last couple months, and the care was usually good. I also included the delights package so he can get extra walks, as he is older and likes to go out and pee more frequently. I am not sure what exactly happened this time (I know Stone Mountain was busy because of the 4th weekend), but Kody did not get the care I would expect. He had to have been laying there on his side for many hours for something like this to occur. I am also wondering if he was given his meds or maybe even over medicated (because he couldn't walk or balance at all when I picked him up). The person who brought me back to get Kody said he can't walk today, you'll need to pick him up. I could see that he had been laying there for a long time, as the blanket was wet (he had a memory foam bed with, but he was not on it, nor was it in his kennel), not sure if the wet was pee, but it was obvious he was in that position for a long time. I don't know what else to say, I am very sad that we had to let him go. I emailed the boarding manager Amber, but never heard back. I asked for any information to share with us regarding Kodys stay or as to why Kody couldn't walk on Sunday, I would appreciate an email back. I am wondering if there were any issues or problems during his stay, etc. read more

We took our 11 year old German Shepard there for boarding Memorial Day 2017. We made our reservation for the deluxe suite. Our dog has a spinal condition that makes his back leg weak and he has difficulty walking. He was to be in a kennel with not quite so many dogs to aleviate anxiety and stress. He was supposed to have a raised bed, t.v., walked 3 times a day. Soft lights and music at night. When we made our reservation they said this was all they had left and we took it. My husband went to drop him off on friday and they told him they "talked" to me at 8 am that morning and told me they had to down grade his accommodations and I said that was alright. NOT!!! They never called me! They lied to his face.They proceeded to put him in a cage that was so narrow he couldn't even turn around. My husband said not on your life is he staying in there. They finally put him in a 4 x 6 kennel. When we picked him up and I said his name to the receptionist and the people behind the counter all looked at each other. They were cold and rude. Not a smile or hello.I told them we wanted to back with them and get him. The kennel was so loud with barking and the raised bed they gave him was about 20 x 20. My dog weighs 120 pounds. it was too small for him to even sit on. So this poor aching beast of mine had to sleep on the cement the entire weekend. I phoned the next day to tell them how dissatisfied I was with them and I told the girl that answered I would like to talk with the person that supposedly called me on Friday. She put me on hold and got the kennel manager. I also told him I would like to speak with this person he finally said it's not written in your chart. I told him that's because no one called.He told me they upgraded my dog and didn't charge me for it. I had to explain to him that they did not, they down graded him. Then he proceeds to tell me that our dog was in that kennel during his whole stay. Now why would he tell me something like that??? I explained to him I did not want my money back or a discount. i said I am just calling to let you know how disappointed I am in your facility. Don't be fooled by the wording they put out there. Walked 3 times a day means they slide the door up so they can go out side. Fresh running water means a spigot. No t.v..Just a concrete floor and barking dogs. It's just like any other low cost kennel. I must say though, it was clean, didn't stink and the man that took us back to get our pup was very nice and informative about his stay. They also gave him his meds which we appreciated, at a small charge. But that's fine, they have to pay someone to do it. read more

Well first let me say something good. I brought my previous Saint here 2 or 3 times and really a great experience. They always bathed him and cleaned him up beautifully & everyone just great Now for my latest experience with my new 7 month old Saint. Made a same day appt. they led me to pre-room of groomer. Otis didn't really want to go in and receptionist started to try and sooth him and baby talk to him. I asked her not to speak or sooth him when he acts this way as it just makes things worse long term. She immediately left without another word. I spoke to groomer and asked her to not baby him if he acts scared and she completely understood and agreed (great groomer as she seem to "get" it) I went to leave and realizing the receptionist may have taken my words poorly, although I in no way was short, abrupt or rude about it; I went to counter and started to explain which the woman completely ignored me in the rudest way I left saying she was rude and could care less if she wished to behave so poorly Needless to say I returned to pick up pup, who looked great, tipped groomer, told her she did wonderful job but I won't be back as reception is horrible. Many were in huddle as I left; I'm sure justifying their poor behavior I honestly thought it likely an isolated issue until I read previous reviews. They lost my business and two others thus far. By the way, I live in cities and will not be driving 40 minutes one way again. Lots of good groomers around. My spouse & I have taken our dogs here a couple of times, but they recently instituted a policy stating that 2 dogs from the same home need to stay in separate kennels. Our two dogs are best buds who sleep right next to each other at night, so this news was really hard for us to hear. Separating them from their owners is tough enough, let alone from each other. We'll be going elsewhere in the future so they can romp & play together all they want. read more

Went to the Balitmore location for the dog park hours just to check it out. Small indoor and outdoor area. Just not much room to run around and play too much. It was decent, but I wasn't happy because two different smaller dogs kept on getting into altercations with the big dogs. While we were there. These two dogs each got into about 3-4 fights with other dogs. Yet were never asked to leave by staff. They continued to stay and let their dogs play. read more

I am very disappointed in my recent visit to Stone Mountain Pet Lodge. About 3 weeks ago, a homeless cat showed up at my house. After about a week, we decided to adopt him, as we were unable to find his owner. Because he lived outside for so long, I wanted to get him bathed, since he was obviously dirty. I called Stone Mountain Pet Lodge because I had heard good things about them from a family member who had boarded his dog there. The receptionist that I spoke with said they groomed cats frequently, and that they had a specific groomer who specialized in caring for cats. We had to wait 2 weeks to get an appointment with her. Another grooming business in Forest Lake that I talked to was able to get him in sooner, but I decided to stick with Stone Mountain because I felt like they would be the best people to work with. So, two weeks went by and it was finally the day of our appointment. Because I work in the cities, I had to take off work 2 hours early, using my precious vacation time, in order to get home, pick up my new cat, and bring him down to Stone Mountain. When we arrived, we were escorted to the grooming office, where we met the "cat groomer". She immediately told us that if our cat tried to bite or scratch her during the grooming process, she would stop the service immediately and return him to us in the condition he was in (wet, full of soap, etc). She assured us that no matter how well behaved our cat was, that he might not not tolerate a bath, and she seemed to suggest that we shouldn't even try. My husband and I were shocked. This woman was supposed to be a professional cat groomer, yet she didn't even want to try bathing our cat. I can understand a groomer turning down the job if an animal was showing signs of fear or aggression, but our cat was sitting calmly in his kennel and has never been aggressive with us, our other pets, or at his recent vet appointment. We know a bath might be stressful for a cat, but it appeared as though this woman just didn't not want to do her job. It is hard to believe she was a trained groomer, because she showed zero confidence in her ability to do the job, and didn't even want to try! I have no idea why Stone Mountain claims to have a cat groomer, because this woman was completely unwilling to work with us. She didn't seem at all bothered when we chose to leave. When making my appointment two weeks ago, it would have been nice if the receptionist had warned me about their approach to bathing cats. Had I known the "cat groomer" was apprehensive about bathing cats, we would never had made this appointment. As mentioned above, I took time off of work, used my vacation, and waited 2 weeks for this appointment. I could have gone somewhere else and gotten in much sooner, and most likely received better service as well. The women at the reception desk seemed very confused when we immediately walked out. I told them how the groomer treated us and our cat, and they tried to convince us to make an appointment with ANOTHER "cat groomer" on the following day, who would be "BETTER" with cats and would be "TOTALLY WILLING" to work with us. However, I'm not going to waste my time and take MORE time off of work, only to risk being turned away again. After driving home very upset, I called the other groomer I had spoken to in Forest Lake, and they were shocked at how Stone Mountain handled us. This groomer said they would accept my cat with open arms and work with him to make his bath as stress-free and calming as possible. They said they would NEVER return a cat back to its owner mid-bath, but instead, they will take as much time as they need to complete the grooming process. We will be going to this groomer from now on. We are very disappointed in the terrible customer-service and this groomer's unwillingness to take on the job that she was hired to do. We have 2 dogs and 2 cats in our home, and will never bring any of them to Stone Mountain for any of their services. read more

I have brought my dog to Stone Mountain pet lodge numerous times. While it is a beautiful facility, the last 2 times my dog was boarded there she came home sick. First time with Kennel cough and the most recent with a bad bacterial infection. The most recent illness was severe and cost over $1000 in vet bills. While the facility appears to look clean, I can't help but wonder why my dog keeps getting sick coming home from there. I hope that Stone Mountain will look into the possible causes and make the necessary steps to assure other pet owners that it is safe to bring their beloved pets there. read more
