UPDATED (10-14-18): Just wanted to update, as my dog, Irish, has stayed countless times now for…read moreday-play. I had family from Germany in town for 2 wks. Irish was able to spend time with us, but because we were going to various places ...she couldn't come most of the time. It was also too hot to leave her in the car & she still deals strongly with separation anxiety. So nearly every day for 2 wks (not the weekends), she did stay here for day-play. She seems happy when I pick her up each time & even knows where we're going when I say she is going to have a "FUN DAY"! Instead of lying down in the car, she stays upright until we arrive, which is unusual! She even wags her tail at times when I pick her up, which if you read below, this is a big deal, since she is an older rescue dog I recently adopted. The AWESOME STAFF are starting to get to know her & her "ways" a bit more, which is helpful. More than they realize, they have helped me out quite a bit. I do pray she will get better with being left alone at home for short periods of time. However, until we get to that point, I will continue to bring her here when I have dr's appts and/or errands that will take several hours. This way I know she's cared for & won't be "as lonely" if she were just left at home. I do hope they'll start to have day-play on weekends, which it sounds like they may do in the near future. That will help out greatly, as I don't want to just board her, but actually give her some social interaction with other dogs, if I need to go out-of-town for any reason. I also like the cameras in upgraded rooms, so you can watch your dog while they are in there. However, I hope to see more cameras on the premises, so you can watch while they are playing, as well. This, too, may happen in near future, as I'm sure it's a matter of funds. Lastly, I hope they end up with some kind of "frequent day-play and/or boarding" program. Where you can buy X-amount of day-plays and/or boarding in advance to get a reduced price. That would make for an ideal gift for someone! KUDOS TO STAFF! OLDER POST: I've only had my dog, Irish, since April 30, 2018. She is nearly an 8-yr-old rescued Beagle that I ended up adopting. She had major surgery for 11 tumors back in April (one literally the size of a baseball). The vet firmly believes she has cancer and could live for 6 months or 6 years ...there's just no way to know. Either way, she's a sweetheart of a dog and I know I made the right decision in adopting her back in mid-May. Irish does come with a lot of separation anxiety, as well as being scared of loud noises ...particularly thunder & children. Due to all of this, it has been difficult to leave her alone. I've tried various methods to keep her calm while I have to run out to do errands & such. Unfortunately, it will take a lot more time with a lot of love & patience. However, I'm willing to do what it will take. This includes the added expense of putting her in doggy day-care -even if she is not much into "playing" given her age & health. She seems happy enough to be around other dogs & people ...more so than just staying at home while I'm out doing my errands. I'm grateful that Paradise Pet is local & willing to take last-minute drop-ins & of course long-term boarding, if needed. I did use their long-term boarding last month for an unexpected death in the family that took me out to Texas. Paradise Pet took very good care of Irish while I was away. That was her 1st time there. She's been there 2 more times just for day-play. I will be bringing her back for this again soon! Over-all, I'm very satisfied with Paradise Pet & will definitely recommend to anyone that's looking for such a place to either board and/or do day-play for their dog. They take cats, too, but I don't have a cat, so can't give any info regarding that. BIG-BIG KUDOS TO ALL EMPLOYEES HERE ....and to management for hiring such great & caring employees! She had lost weight. The cameras went out several times and I had to call about them not working. My dog had to go for emergency treatment after I picked her up but ended up dying a week later. My dog was perfectly fine when I dropped her off but died a week after being picked up from this horrible place. No one should ever use this facility if you care anything about your pet. These people should not even be in the business of boarding animals because they don't care about your pets.

The poodle mix is skeptical of everything and she absolutely loves the ladies, the dogs and being a part of group play. My puppy thinks its the best thing ever. She gets to see her friends, play and have some manners training. They have helped me with training, we work together, I reinforce at home what they are teaching and working on at camp. We have used them for grooming. They did wonderful with the girls when they were groomed. They really take the time to get to know your dog and to make sure your dog is a good fit for the kind of program they run, which is group play. They teach manners, boundaries and teach the dogs to respect and read cues from other dogs. They've just done a wonderful job with our girls. I highly recommend them for boarding. They actually stay with the dogs 24 hours. We've been clients for about 9 months

We take our dogs here for their regular check up and vaccines, I love that they have an app where you can see upcoming health needs, current health of your pet, upload cute pictures of your pet, etc. We have boarded one of our dogs with FR several times, but now having two we just get house sitters. We were satisfied with our dogs 5 night stay, he got fed, played with the big dogs, and was super worn out when he got home. Every time they go in for a vet visit the staff handles our dogs with care and gives them all the treats to calm their nerves. They've always given us medical advice, etc. We had an instance where our dogs kept vomiting and took him to FR after visiting the ER. They stated he was having bad seasonal allergies gave us two medications and within days he was back to his normal self. Would recommend their boarding, veterinarians to anyone! I am very picky with my babies & FR has always been good to us.

October 2024 My sweet dog Chloe Rai died a excruciating painful death that I don't wish for anyone's animal... I trusted Flint River Animal Hospital to provide care for my beloved dog, Chloe Rai, during a critical medical crisis. A surgery was done to repair her intestines from an intussusception on a Monday. By Tuesday night, I noticed something was wrong postoperatively & Despite my proactive involvement, multiple visits each day that week and my repeated efforts to communicate concerns about her worsening condition... the clinic failed to act with urgency and did not take the complaints seriously. I was told I was overly concerned and that my knowledge as a nurse did not translate into the vet world. Lack of attention to her symptoms, critical delays in care, and inadequate communication about her condition defined our experience. Their inaction led to Chloe's condition worsening, ultimately requiring emergency surgery at another facility in Tennessee.. where i wasn't instructed to take her until hours before her death. There, on Friday of that week it was discovered that her critical condition was caused by ruptured intestinal sutures from the surgery performed earlier that week from Flint River... leading to sepsis and her death. I was mislead throughout my entire encounter with Flint River & I was not prepared for what took place that evening. I sat in their office holding Chloe as she was actively bleeding out as they continued with routine examinations on everyone else's animal for nearly 2 hours, them being FULLY aware of my critical complaint, That her stomach was bloated & she was in pain... The result of this occurrence landed me in an emergency vet in Tennessee and $10,000 in debt... this heartbreaking outcome was not expected & was preventable with earlier intervention and honesty. As a pet parent, I felt dismissed and ignored by multiple staff members. The lack of empathy, accountability, and urgency deeply compounded the pain of losing my irreplaceable baby, Chloe. This experience was not only emotionally devastating and traumatic but financially burdensome. The situation has been escalated to the Alabama Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners and the clinic has been privately held accountable.. Based on what we endured, I cannot recommend this clinic. This is Chloe on her final day. Blessings.

Picked my dog up Monday after two nights. Kennel was nice size. No heat as advertised. Temps were…read morenear freezing. Not an outside dog. Dog had spilled her water, soaking her pillow and blanket. No idea how long her bedding had been wet. She came home dirty like she had been in an old barn, not a big deal, a good bath never hurt her. Owner was very nice, helped me wrestle her harness on and helped get dog's things to the car. Included in her toys was a bone that looked as old as a dinosaur bone and another smaller bone. I hope my dog didn't chew on these nasty things. This would be a nice place for a big outdoor dog but not recommended for a fufu house dog. Just not for my type of dog. Don't hesitate to use this kennel for a sturdy, outdoor dog.
