Quick and delicious! Right across from a park so lots of places to enjoy your creemee in the shade.

Deep City was a recommendation for brunch from a local. It is the sister restaurant to Foam Brewers (right next door). When we walked in there was a small wait but not bad. We headed over to the brewery to grab coffee and to check it out. It is definitely a cool spot. They have a huge selection of beer, a small wine program (who knew) and small bites. Unfortunately they did not have TVs or else we would've come back to watch the football game but we did purchase some beer before heading back over for brunch at Deep City. The menu here is a little more Mexican-forward think Huevos Rancheros, but there was still plenty of items that looked appealing. We split the banana bread with maple walnut cream cheese (to die for) to share as an app which was fresh and delicious. I also ordered a fruit cup which was also good. We then shared their Huevos Verdes which is similar to Huevos Rancheros except it came with a tomatillo salsa. It was good but very sloppy to eat. Overall it was a great experience, and service was phenomenal. A great brunch place while visiting Burlington VT.

A no laptop policy keeps things flowing and encourages folks to talk vs work. Breakfast menu is available all day while lunch starts at 11 and goes until close at 3p. We tried a few things: * croissant - super flaky and perfectly made. * breakfast sandwich - with sausage. Buttery and crispy edges toast with fried egg and melted cheese with sausage. One of my favorite breakfast sandwiches ever. * banner eighteen - a play on cheesesteak with broccoli mushrooms and shaved steak in a sesame hogie. This one had slight spice and a slight taste reminiscent of a combination pizza. It's a big sandwich and quite tasty. * oatmeal raisin cookie - not too sweet which I loved. Chewy. * fresh baquette. Bread . . . . . * maple lemonade - slightly sweet with a good bit of tartness. It was good! I'd definitely comeback here if I'm craving some sandwiches

We tried the eat the east breakfast sandwich ($11) and the vermonter sandwich ($16). I especially liked the vermonter sandwich and the bread it came on. The cafe also sells various bread items and baked goods. One thing to note is that since the cafe is counter-serve, seating is also first come first serve. We were able to snag a seat right as someone left, but for that reason I would recommend coming at a less peak time if able. August First is deservedly a busy spot in Burlington and I would be there often if I were a local.

Since the moment we sat down it felt like we were being rushed out of the place, we would take a last bite (or even have a few bites left of each dish) and a server would swoop in and clear our plate literally as I'd finish scooping a bite off of it. One time I had a plate under a piece of food (food that was from a separate plate the dish was originally served on) and the waiter came over and tried clearing thins and was like "can I get that one too" as if they were desperately relying on every single plate to get back to the kitchen ASAP. Very bizarre. I never had such a poor serving experience until this last visit this past week. Additionally, portion size and cost are still pushing the limits. $4 PER PITA. Give me a break. Half of the dishes we ordered need and/or do better with a pita and you're going to charge $4 per pita. Two people, two "main dishes" (salad and chicken wings - only 6 wings) and one side dish (muhammara), and one drink each... total of $150 (including tip) seems extremely extravagantly priced. I will reiterate - food is very flavorful, fresh, comes out hot, and would recommend highly if that's all the review was based upon. Unfortunately, everything else was sub par and I'm feeling let down by what used to be a total favorite place to eat. Womp womp.
