I live in Virginia and ordered flowers telephonically on Thursday, February 19th to be picked up at their location by a relative on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 11 am for a 12 noon book signing event. The door to the establisment was locked, no one answered the door and no one answered the telephone calls. My relative called while standing at the door of the establishment, and I made three calls from Virginia. No one answered my calls or his call. At 1:11 pm. I received a telephone message from the establishment telling me the flowers were ready for pickup, but by that time the event was over. This place has beautiful bouquets on the first day of delivery but their flowers don't bloom or last. Got the $150 bouquet from my son for Mother's Day this year. It was a lot for him to pay as he is still a student but bless him he wanted to do something special which really touched me. The flowers arrived and were stunning. The feature flowers were peonies which are my favorite flower. I appreciate they came closed and expected them to bloom over the next few days. They did not. In fact they remained closed until I threw them out. In addition,the package came with a photo with your mom but no card holder to showcase the photo. I'm disappointed but more so for my son who worked so hard to give me this gift that really didn't live up to even basic expectations. Won't be recommending this place to anyone. read more

Ooh la la, Ode à la rose! Beautiful fresh, french inspired bouquets! Loved the seamless online ordering and elegant floral selections offered by this West Town florist I found randomly online. The roses looked stunning, although I settled on a brightly colored arrangement in an antique brass vase which looked cheerful and sophisticated. Worse florist EVER! I will not recommend this place. They deliver horrible flowers. The flower are not fresh and dies within a couple of days. Please see attached picture. I called around 1 p.m. Chicago time to request a same day delivery because I had forgotten to send flowers earlier for my sister's birthday. Don't trust this service, I bought roses from the for 250$ they were supposed to be long stem roses they weren't. I called and spoke with Mike when I ordered the roses he said " Yes they are long stem roses they are about 24inch" which I don't know in the actual length of a long stem rose anyway, When I arrived to pick the roses up she gave me the roses in a cardboard box and i immediately knew they were just regular roses, but I gave them the benefit of doubt. I asked the women who gave them to me and she said "these are the roses we have". I called customer service right away. Aki help me out a bit, when I arrived home to get a closer look at the roses, I saw right away they were just regular roses, not only where they not 24inches they were only 17inches no different than Costco. I sent the photo to Aki right away so they can figure this out, they wanted to do an exchange for me but I already felt scammed so I ask for a refund. After talking on the phone with Aki again she told me in order to get a refund I need to drop the flowers off which is ridiculous after everything that happened. I explained I live 25min from the warehouse you guys can come pick them up. About an hour later they said okay we are coming to pick them up, but we are going to charge you a 25$ pick up fee. At this point just come and get the flowers I'll just loose out of my 25$, I don't want to deal with this. Honestly I feel like this entire operation is a scam, stay far away from these people! Don't buy from Ode a LaRose unless you want to run the risk of the picture they show being substantially different than what shows up at your door. That is what happened to me. Weddings are very stressful, in the best of times. In the worst of times (COVID19) you order peonies through Ode à la Rose directly from Holland because you aren't certain how else you will be able to have a wedding bouquet for your wedding that you are having to completely replan because of restrictions. The flowers I ordered were delayed through absolutely no fault of the company, and I was completely panicking that I was not going to be able to have flowers for my wedding. I emailed support to see if there was anything that they could do, and within 10 minutes their support line had emailed me back asking if they could send me flowers from their store to replace the ones I had not gotten yet. I had flowers on my doorstep in less than two hours. They were packed beautifully, they were incredibly fresh, and the store called me to give me instructions on how to keep them fresh before the wedding. I am so grateful to them!!! The below bouquet was put together by me with their peonies and other flowers from a grocery store. I am sure their bouquets are much more lovely, but I wasn't sure who would be open in a global pandemic when I first made my order. read more

But with no visitors allowed, delivery was my only option. I couldn't have been happier with the results, and like one of the other reviewers, I wish I could give Ode more stars. Ordering online was a breeze -- very easy website navigation -- and the day of delivery I received an email with a link to a picture of the bouquet that was heading out for delivery. The lovely staff at my mom's facility texted me a picture of the bouquet after it arrived, and it looked every bit as beautiful upon arrival. Beyond disappointing! Instead of a " bouquet made in our Chicago atelier by one of our talented artisans" as described by the card accompanying the delivery, what arrived was a bunch of extremely ordinary tulips, and a vase in which to plop them. They were the same ordinary tulips that one can buy at the local grocery store like Whole Foods for 1/4 of the price. These were meant to be a birthday gift and my son requested peonies. Their stock answer is peonies are not in season. Any florist who calls themselves, an atelier can certainly order peonies from the supplier; other florist in chicago can order them - and have done! I called their main number and was told that they would like to make it right. I sent an email to them and have heard nothing. I would NOT recommend this vendor. read more

I am very disappointed in Ode a la ROSE and will absolutely never order from them again. I ordered flowers for my mother but unfortunately she decided to go up to our lake house last minute the day before they were set to arrive. I called Ode the night before after finding this out and left a very long, detailed message asking that they do not go out the next day as it will be a total waste since no one is home. The next morning I called to follow up with my request and the women on the phone said 1. she didn't listen to the message and 2. there was nothing they could do as they were already out for delivery. She didn't even try to solve the problem and see if the delivery could be pulled back to their shop so that the order could be shipped on another day. Terrible customer service, there are so many great flower shops out there that cater to their customers, I would not recommend ordering from here and would bring your business somewhere else. read more

I ordered from Ode a la Rose for the first time yesterday and I was very well pleased, as was the recipient of the roses. The online order process was seamless; I was offered a couple of same-day delivery times and the flowers were delivered within my chosen window; email communications kept me in the loop every step of the way (nice!); and the flowers were really very pretty. The loss of half a star is simply because the roses were opened a little more than optimal, which means they won't last quite as long. Free delivery and transparent communications make that concern less of one. I'll absolutely use Oda ala Rose again. read more

Many of my flower were limp as a result of sitting in the cold. How hard would it have been to ring the doorbell or send a text. Even limp flowers can't ruin my 29th wedding anniversary. read more

I used to buy flowers here when I lived in NYC and found it difficult to find anywhere with both a beautiful product and great customer service after moving to Chicago.... I (try) to send flowers at least every couple weeks so naturally I've seen it all from the big online guys and local shops alike. Ode a la Rose is unmatched. My girlfriend loves the flowers and I love having a real person on the other end of the phone. Very disappointed. The arrangement I ordered looked nothing like the picture. When I reached out to inquire I was immediately contacted by the manager, Brecken, who stated that with fresh water for a couple day the flowers will resemble the picture and to contact her back if I had additional concerns. I subsequently contacted her 3 times and have had no response. My rose bouquet not only was a different color but the tops were so wrinkly they looks like carnations not roses.
