I called and ordered flowers for Mother's Day and said how much should I spend to get a nice bouquet. They said between $50 to $100. Ok. So I spent $75 and they charged additional $25 for delivery, and it was only a few miles away. I called them at 6:25 pm and said why weren't flowers delivered? And she said "we are still doing deliveries". My mother got her flowers at 9:15 pm. Mother's Day was over!! And to top it off, the bouquet was such a disappointment. Two roses and the rest fillers. We have a tradition where we give the teachers a flower as a birthday present. And we come here so my kids can pick their own flowers to give to their teachers. My kids are always excited to come here as the owner is always nice and really take care of my kids special order. The price is really the same if you buy at a big chain grocery store. You contacted me (the next day..day of event...3 hours before the event), and you offered a "discount" --not complimentary. Given the circumstances, you should have offered it complimentary, but that is not what happened. By that point, your lack of responsiveness had angered me to a point that I felt compelled to share the details of my experience so that others can weight their options. I do recognize that my order for a corsage and boutonnière were not as important as an event like a wedding, however I do expect professional courtesy. Again, it was less about your failure to deliver as promised (things happen, i get it...), and more about your not communicating with me. A simple text or one-minute, apologetic message. I suspect the average florist shop customer is only interested in receiving their correct order on time and/or to be notified as quickly as possible should there be a problem with the order. There is nothing inaccurate in my comments--nothing. Had you offered it complimentary, i would have picked it up just to make a comparison (i actually found the "half-price" offer a little insulting under the circumstances). I use Yelp to help me decide among businesses, and any comments I make are to help others make informed decisions. One honest, negative experience does not greatly impact my decisions. There are many wonderful reviews of your business. Remember, i was referred to you. But i had a bad experience, and i chose to share it because I think that is helpful to users. I have no other motivations. I wish you well. I just think potential customers should be aware of problems one or some customer(s) have had, and I would hope you would consider handling the situation differently, should it happen again. read more

This place sucks and they do not care about their customer's legitimate complaints. My mother was trying to do something nice for my husband and I and surprise use with a basket in our hotel when we arrived. They delivered it late, not what she ordered (which they didn't even inform her they were out of until she called and asked about the delivery since it had not shown up. Guess they weren't going to bother, hoping to get away with stealing someone's money). The cake was a dry, stale week old piece of cardboard from Mariano's (probably their dumpster out back) and when I left a Google review they didn't apologize for their late delivery or the terrible quality of the items. My mom is the sweetest and we appreciated her gesture but they need to refund her because this was truly terrible. Use anyone else for your gifting needs. read more

Catfish and unprofessional business alert! Stay away from this florist if you want to avoid: 1. Receiving flowers two days later than your scheduled delivery date with no notice of it being late even though you ordered a couple days in advance and received an order confirmation with your delivery date. You'll also receive a deceptive delivery slip attached to your flowers that shows your scheduled delivery date on it. Good thing my building tracks deliveries by date, so you can't pull your fraudulent business practices on me. 2. Having one of your loved ones not receive their flowers at all due to not meeting some "minimum" that their website doesn't disclose in a delivery area they accepted and sent you an order confirmation email for. 3. Being catfished by a florist that uses photos of more elegant bouquets online to lure you into buying them only to deliver a bouquet that looks nothing close to what you ordered and isn't worth nearly the price you would have paid at any other florist. 4. Receiving a rambling, rude message from someone at their store who never mentions her name. Then, when you call back and you happen to get a hold of the rude lady, she hangs up on you after nonsensically saying "Is this you? Is this you? Never mind! Bye."...only to call you back a few minutes later to interrupt one of your work meetings and claim she isn't rude. Um, yes you are. Bye! Avoid this place to save yourself money and heartbreak. This place should not be open for business if they are unable to take customer calls in a timely manner. It appears their mailbox is full, and I have been trying to reach them for the entire morning to get an update on the status of my order. Being that it has not been going well, I would like to get a refund. I have had to place another flower order with Kelly's Flower (175 W. Jackson), who were responsive, prompt, and ensured me my flowers would be delivered to the recipient in time. I wish I would have read the reviews prior to ordering, because even judging by their response to reviews/customers, which are rude, it appears the people who work here are barely managing the amount of requests. If that is the case, they should reconsider their business model. This is unfortunate for them and the customers. I hope they can turn things around soon. read more

Was told that delivery time could take up to 4 hours, which was perfect. After calling my wife throughout the day to see if see had any "missed calls" , I finally called Henry Hampton Floral back 5.5 hours after placing the order only to be told that the flowers were still sitting at the store. I ordered from this store specifically because they are 0.5 miles from my wife's office building. The centerpieces were stunning, my bouquet and bridesmaids bouquets were better than I could have even imagined and the customer service was outstanding. I first discovered Henry Hampton when I stopped in one day to pick up a bouquet for a friend's bridal shower and casually asked about their services and prices. I mentioned my budget (which according to other florists was "very low") and a rough idea of what I was looking for and instead of hearing "unfortunately, our minimum price range is...." or "For that amount your only going to get..." I was told they could most certainly work with me. After an in-person meeting with David to go over what I wanted, we then scheduled a time to look at three samples--yes! They put together 1. exactly what I asked for 2. what they thought would look best 3. something in the middle. I can't tell you what a wonderful perk this is! Not surprising, what they put together is what I selected and I left feeling 100% confident as to what I could expect on my wedding day. And when I had last minute changes, because I did, Denise was wonderful and would send me an updated outline reflecting all changes. The bouquet itself was beautiful. However, the delivery person left it with the building instead of delivering it to my door, so I got my flowers one day after my birthday. My husband looked so disappointed when he called from his business trip and realized I hadn't received anything. Also, many of the stems were short (reaching halfway down the vase) with ragged edges. I trimmed them again with sharp shears but the short stems left little wiggle room. It seems many people don't get great service when ordering online, so I would try calling instead. He did not deliver flowers to the business listed, asked my wife to come to the street when she is busy at work in addition shes pregnant. I was told that they had some ideas and that they would try to put something together that we would be pleased with. I even called and requested that the pick up time be a little bit earlier to fit in with my schedule due to multiple errands that needed to be run. I had an event near the McCormick Center. I called in to place an order and gave my information to a woman. However, this process of ordering was so stressful I could barely handle it. They ended up taking my credit card number down wrong. Some man, I think the owner, had the audacity to be incredibly rude to me as if it was my fault. The florists are extremely talented and they only use the freshest of flowers. I change the water once in the morning and once at night and it isn't unusual for my bouquets to last 10 days.
