Frankly, it looked like a meal designed for me, but apparently that was not the intention. We stopped by the FiDi location after work and found a HUGE outdoor patio tucked away from the street. There are big hedges and lots of greenery surrounding the space, so somehow you can sit in the middle of Lower Manhattan without feeling like you're surrounded by skyscrapers. Very relaxing. Very civilized. But let's discuss the service. Almost immediately after I arrived, someone brought me my own water bowl. Excellent start. And THEN... A complimentary pup cup appeared. For me. No ordering. No begging. No reviewing the menu while wondering why there wasn't a dog section. They simply recognized the most important customer at the table and acted accordingly. Five paws already. Mom had the apple cider, Dad had the Crisp pilsner, and they shared a giant soft pretzel. I conducted a thorough visual inspection of the pretzel but was apparently expected to be satisfied with my pup cup. Negotiations remain ongoing. The staff was incredibly sweet and attentive. Several people stopped by during our visit specifically to say hello to me, which is exactly the level of hospitality I expect. The whole patio has a relaxed beer-garden feel and is especially good for an after-work hang. I remember liking their drinks, but I never stopped back in, as I don't go out to drink too often. More recently, I was here a few months ago with a large group for their Sunday Roast. The staff were friendly and gave us good service, even though the place was crowded, and there was some loud but pleasant live music playing in the background. Of course, a bunch of us got cocktails. I went with their signature Irish Coffee, as I thought the Alexander one, based on a Brandy Alexander, would be a little bit too sweet. Said drink was $17 and had Teeling Small Batch Irish whiskey, Andytown coffee, Demerara, freshly whipped cream, and nutmeg. As can be seen in the hundreds, or rather thousands, of other reviews, their Irish coffee is excellent. It's not too sweet or too bitter, with enough whiskey for just a tiny kick of alcohol, along with a hit of spice. Another person loved the $20 Frozen version with the same whiskey, along with Mr. Black coffee liqueur, cold brew coffee, cane sugar, and cream, and I believe someone else got the fancier Alexander version for $21. Outside of their coffees, there was a mix of other cocktails, including the Doctor's Orders for $21, with Wild Turkey 101 bourbon, Laird's apple brandy, cinnamon, allspice, grapefruit, and lime. I remember trying it as I gave the other person a sip of my drink and enjoying it. The majority of us went with the same $44 Sunday Roast as our main dish. This consisted of a roasted sirloin of beef, bread stuffing, roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese gratin, roasted vegetables, Yorkshire pudding, beef gravy, and horseradish cream. The beef was cooked to my requested temperature, and only a small portion of fat wasn't rendered down properly. However, this wasn't the case for others, with one person's steak in particular having a lot of fat. I partially blame this on the sheer number of orders, but that was unfortunate. The roasted vegetables consisted of carrots and broccoli, and they had a nice char, along with the potatoes. The stuffing was standard, and I liked the unique gratin in particular, as it added an extra texture and saltiness to the dish. The gravy it came with was nice, with some richness and a good beefy flavor, which paired nicely with the Yorkshire pudding and the vegetables. Lastly, I used a small bit of the horseradish, which helped cut the richness. Overall, it was good, but if I had one of the other people's plates, I might have liked it a bit less. This is a tasty place with particularly good cocktails. They have thousands of good reviews for a very good reason. Good luck in DC and Austin as well.

After a nearly two-hour delay, moe. came on at 8:20pm and played until the 10pm curfew. So one headliner delivered a third of their advertised set and the other started 20 mins later. The venue's response was to hide behind their rain-or-shine policy and refuse any refund or goodwill gesture whatsoever, not even a credit. Rain or shine is supposed to mean the show goes on despite weather, not that the venue can deliver a fraction of what was advertised and keep your full ticket price. Pier 17 has a beautiful setting but their customer service when things go wrong is nonexistent. Won't be back.

I didn't know what to expect but I loved the Broadway show and I'm always down for immersive events. So I arrived at the Press Room and saw that there was a bar with a couple of tables surrounding it. It seems to be where the kitchen is for all the wonderful food that Alamo provides during the in-dining movie experience. I had to approach the bartender to find out where exactly this party was and he instructed me to look beyond the large curtain to the side just as if I were searching for the Wizard of Oz. As I tugged myself behind the curtain, I walked into a decent-sized room and with balloons and the words, "Welcome to Emerald City" in the front of the room with a DJ playing today's hits and of course, songs from the Wizard Broadway show. At first, I thought this was going to be a dance party but soon realized that it was going to be a craft party instead. There was a station for making your own broom, one to make a friendship bracelet, and another one for letter writing along with sealed wax to use on the envelope with different stamps. I sipped away an Old-Fashioned in my souvenir Wicked cup while singing along to the Wicked soundtrack and making a friendship bracelet for my daughter. This experience was relaxing and joyful so now I know my type of party consists of a craft night. Close to the end of the night, I participated in a Wicked costume contest. I lost but nevertheless, I had a good time. Ended the night with an order of burger before heading home to show off my creations. I can't wait to check out their other events and come here again!

The only complaint was the water was very hot - always. The room had outlets in all the right places and automatic blackout shades on the windows. I found the 16th floor to be nice and quiet at night. The light control panel and AC panel was at the bed side which was nice as well. I would stay here again. Wall & Water, which Yelp currently lists as closed, is very much open as of May 2022. However, it is only open for breakfast from 7-11. There is no room service option but you can get to go orders. Breakfast was menu based and my basic brekky of scrambled eggs, sausage and toast and potatoes was very good. The OJ was good as well. Free coffee and tea is available in this area as well from 7 to about 2 it seemed. Once breakfast is over the space is quiet and there is a kind of second lobby of the hotel with some nice seating areas right off the elevators which reminded pretty quiet. Centric Bar & Grill is open for lunch (12-2) and dinner (4-11). I had dinner here twice and enjoyed both times. The bread pudding dessert was great. The salmon was prepared well and was as a whole a great dish sides and all. The chicken linguine was good as well. The kitchen made me a nice side salad that was off the menu as well - it was basically just spinach and tomatoes but was a big serving and had good dressing on it. The bartender was friendly and attentive enough and didn't rush you. I'm not sure if he wasn't the greatest bar tender or if his bar stock was just very limited, but he had a hard time going off the cocktail menu for me and another guest I overheard ordering.
