The ladies here opened their store just for our appointment, and we couldn't have had a better time helping my baby sister find her perfect dress. The selection is big, the dresses are beautiful, and the atmosphere was that perfect small shop feel. It was exactly what my sister had been looking for. Although it was expensive, the dress was beautiful and definitely worth it. I had bought the dress, but unfortunately, it was too small. So, I decided to buy it and get it altered by a seamstress. The seamstress did a great job with the alterations, and she hand-made my veils, too. However, the issue arose when my dress was ready and I left it at the store to be steamed and delivered on my wedding day. This was a perk that was explained to my mother, my sister, and me when I initially tried the dress on. But, to my surprise, I received a call a few days before my wedding day, and they informed me that the store doesn't offer professional steaming or delivery. I was shocked, frustrated, and disappointed that we had been lied to in such a distasteful fashion. With only a few days left before my wedding, I didn't have the mental or emotional energy to deal with this let-down. My sister and mother were also upset at having been put in such a tight situation with only hours before the wedding day. We had expected what we were told: that the store would steam my dress and even deliver it on my wedding day so that it would be one less thing for us to worry about. I believe in good business, especially when thousands of dollars are being spent. I will not be making any further purchases from this store. While the dresses are beautiful, I cannot tolerate dishonest sales practices and unfulfilled promises.

My dress is very intricate, it has 5 separate layers of fabric, beading, lace, appliqué, boning, you name it. I was incredibly nervous about finding a seamstress that would be able to make the needed alterations in 4 months, while keeping the integrity of the dress, and making sure it fit perfectly. I found Hanans through various reviews on Google, Yelp, and my favorite place to get the real reviews, Reddit. People love this woman. And I 1000% know why and couldn't agree more. I'd go to battle for this woman. I think I had around 11 appointments with her total? Which is absurd. She was able to work around my travel-heavy job, addressed every little concern or question I had, and gave me the most perfect dress that I could have ever hoped for. I could not be happier with the end result, we ended up going down quite a few sizes or so from the original and it still looks like the dress I bought, just one that's been custom fitted to me. Unfortunately, our experience changed completely after the purchase. Customer service seemed to end once the dress was ordered. After waiting five months, the dress arrived two sizes too small. It was insinuated that my daughter gained weight, which was simply not the case. We were also told the salesperson did not measure her before the dress was ordered, which might have been the reason for the wrong size being ordered. Even more concerning, when the replacement dress was ordered, she still was not measured. We were told the replacement dress would be rushed, but it was scheduled to arrive only two weeks before the wedding--leaving almost no time for the alterations that every wedding dress requires. Instead of enjoying the final weeks leading up to the wedding, we were left scrambling to find an entirely different dress. What was most disappointing was the lack of accountability. We had to ask for an apology rather than having one offered voluntarily. To the store's credit, they did provide a full refund, and I appreciate that. However, a refund could not make up for the unnecessary stress and disappointment during what should have been one of the happiest times in my daughter's wedding journey. I hope this feedback encourages improvements in communication, measuring procedures, and customer care after the sale.
