My dress is very intricate, it has 5 separate layers of fabric, beading, lace, appliqué, boning, you name it. I was incredibly nervous about finding a seamstress that would be able to make the needed alterations in 4 months, while keeping the integrity of the dress, and making sure it fit perfectly. I found Hanans through various reviews on Google, Yelp, and my favorite place to get the real reviews, Reddit. People love this woman. And I 1000% know why and couldn't agree more. I'd go to battle for this woman. I think I had around 11 appointments with her total? Which is absurd. She was able to work around my travel-heavy job, addressed every little concern or question I had, and gave me the most perfect dress that I could have ever hoped for. I could not be happier with the end result, we ended up going down quite a few sizes or so from the original and it still looks like the dress I bought, just one that's been custom fitted to me. Unfortunately, our experience changed completely after the purchase. Customer service seemed to end once the dress was ordered. After waiting five months, the dress arrived two sizes too small. It was insinuated that my daughter gained weight, which was simply not the case. We were also told the salesperson did not measure her before the dress was ordered, which might have been the reason for the wrong size being ordered. Even more concerning, when the replacement dress was ordered, she still was not measured. We were told the replacement dress would be rushed, but it was scheduled to arrive only two weeks before the wedding--leaving almost no time for the alterations that every wedding dress requires. Instead of enjoying the final weeks leading up to the wedding, we were left scrambling to find an entirely different dress. What was most disappointing was the lack of accountability. We had to ask for an apology rather than having one offered voluntarily. To the store's credit, they did provide a full refund, and I appreciate that. However, a refund could not make up for the unnecessary stress and disappointment during what should have been one of the happiest times in my daughter's wedding journey. I hope this feedback encourages improvements in communication, measuring procedures, and customer care after the sale.

However, The Sentimentalist called me on October 8th to let me know it arrived at their shop! I was so excited! Since I was out of town, I booked an appointment for October 15th, requesting to be paired with Lauren again if possible. I parked and headed inside for my 12PM appointment. The associate at the counter got me checked in, asked if I wanted anything to drink, and seated me in my room. Soon, I was met by a smiling and sweet Lauren! She had arranged her schedule to make sure she could be there with me today. She guided me to where my gown was hanging and prepped for me, and stood right outside the curtain in case I needed assistance. When I came out and looked in the mirror, I was so pleased. I had brought my veil and shoes with me for the full effect, and Lauren had even kindly boxed my veil up for me and packed it in a nice tote bag, since I had brought it in all wound up inside the shipping bag it had come in in. It's the little things that really mean so much. Lauren, as well as the other stylists who peered around the corner to see me in my dress and offer kind words, made me feel so beautiful.
