I am lovingly "violating my own HIPAA rights" and sharing something personal because I genuinely wish someone had told me about pelvic floor physical therapy YEARS ago. I've been going to Dynamic Physical Therapy for several months, and I cannot recommend Michelle Sierra and her team highly enough. I've had two children and a hysterectomy, yet somehow no one ever said, "Hey, you know all those muscles down there? You might want to pay attention to those." Pregnancy and childbirth, hysterectomy and other surgeries, menopause and aging can all affect the pelvic floor, contributing to bladder or bowel issues, urgency, pelvic pressure or pain. And this isn't just for women--men can benefit too, particularly after prostate surgery or cancer treatment. For years, many of us assumed these were simply things we had to accept as we got older. Thankfully, we know better now. I'm in my 50s, and while I accept that aging comes with certain indignities, I have absolutely no intention of surrendering to "Poise" or "Depends" without a fight. Michelle and the entire Dynamic team handle a very personal type of therapy with professionalism, compassion, grace and absolutely no judgment. They make something that could feel awkward seem completely normal. If you're experiencing bladder or bowel changes, pelvic pain or pressure, or other symptoms you thought you simply had to live with, please talk with your doctor about whether pelvic floor physical therapy might be appropriate for you. I wish I had known about it years ago. A sincere thank you to Michelle and everyone at Dynamic Physical Therapy for your knowledge, kindness and exceptional care. His office is beautiful and very comfortable (as well as immaculate!) I had the test done yesterday for an abulation, it all went smoothly and I can finally stand up straight and not hunched over to the right. My Cobb angle was 34 degrees and extremely painful. I cannot say it took away all of my pain as I suffer from autoimmune conditions out of anyone's control, but it did make my life more manageable after just one test. I recently had back surgery at Southern Surgical. I had a rough first day post-op... UNTIL I got…read moremy night nurse, Crystal. She is not only an excellent nurse, she is also an angel. Her level of empathy is unparalleled- I feel blessed to have spent that most difficult night with her as my caretaker. She chose the perfect profession - helping surgical patients heal and feel comfortable and cared for. Crystal took me from feeling despair about my prognosis for pain relief that evening to feeling immense relief. In her very first round that evening, 2/19, she made me smile real smiles. She made me feel comfortable, not vulnerable and awkward, which was half the battle. She listened to my concerns because I was in so much pain. She vowed to help me get good rest. She succeeded. I never write reviews- it's not my thing. But this remarkable lady deserves special recognition. Her girls are lucky to have her for a mom. Her patients, I'm sure, agree with me. I bet her employer does too. She deserves a big raise- just throwing that in. I would like to mention one more nurse that was with me immediately post-op in recovery early that morning. I don't know her name bc I was in Lalaland, but I remember her pretty dark hair. She was more of a tough love nurse- she has to be, right? Those OR nurses are like superheroes. She needed to get me alert so I could get to my room and begin my healing. Chop chop!! She was no nonsense- in a good way. But my legs were on FIRE post op- restless leg. And, baby that I am, I got visibly upset and honey she HANDLED it in under 5 seconds. The anesthesiologist of course did his part but it was like miracle time with this awesome lady. And she tolerated me squeezing the hell out of her hand. Class act. - I'm quite sure the last thing she felt like doing was escorting me to my room. It meant the world to me and I'm grateful. She also deserves a raise .
