Wow, this was my first time going to Ocha. My kids have been recommending it for a while and I finally decided to try it out. I'm definitely going back to try other things on their menu, I got their Japanese Toast with bananas and strawberries and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was delicious. They set the bar high for next time. It was worthy of a high end restaurant dessert and the price was more than reasonable. I had to come back after our Yelp event for another visit. I wanted another tea. I was out and about early on a weekday morning. I ended up outside of the Ankeny location before they opened. I was trying to locate what I had enjoyed at the previous visit, but I couldn't remember, so I just went inside. The young woman behind the counter was attentive and happy to help me pick out a good drink. I remembered that it was a fruit tea with the fruit bursts. The place was bright and clean, just like my last visit. It was nice to see that the choices were the same and looked just as good as before. I asked her what her favorite was, and we were able to get a good drink together. I really like the little flavor bursts that you can add to the drink. She had the drink up shortly after that. (Yelp has a check-in coupon) It didn't take long for me to have it gone. It was really good and with the great customer service I know I will be back again. read more

I came in with my daughter to get some delicious craffles at 7:28 sadly we ordered at 7:29 and the girl said they don't sale desserts at 7:30. I had no idea or else I wouldn't have drove 20 min since the website says it closes at 8 and does not say that. I did not see no sign inside that says that as well so I was pretty upset. It would be helpful if you had updated times with that you sold. read more

Cute place, very creative logo! I didn't try any of the milk teas or the bobas, so maybe those would increase my star. I ordered a mango green tea, and the staff was really nice and accommodating to adjust the sugar level for me, even though she said typically they don't as it would affect the flavor of the drink. I told her it's okay as I really don't like sweet drinks and prefer my teas to taste more like tea with a SUBTLE hint of fruit. She offered to do 1oz of mango syrup instead of I believe 3oz. Unfortunately, it was still too sweet for me, likely due to the lychee jelly as well. I have had fruit teas where I can taste a subtle fruit flavor and a strong tea flavor, so I know it's possible, but it was too sweet for me still. I had to water it down with water. read more

Not going to lie... I live around the corner from the Windsor Heights Ocha location so I am probably not going to be a frequent visitor at the new shop. But it's nice to know the option is there when I'm out and about in Ankeny... I frequent Uptown Food and Beverage and The Attice as well as Sportsman's Warehouse... So I am in the area now and then. A Hokkaido at 50% with coffee jelly is my go to! I've gotten to know Aom over the years. You couldn't ask for a better owner than her and her husband Nick. I will continue to support both Ocha locations as well as Eat Thai (in Clive) as much as I can. read more

We were here Sunday before we joined my friend's family for dinner next door at Mojitos. My friend had a strawberry crouffle and a mango smoothie, and I had an almond milk tea and the shaved ice dessert that is pink with rainbow popping boba. It was quite a bit bigger than I expected, so it took me quite a while to finish. Once it melted, it tasted like the Frankenberry cereal milk, after one eats the cereal. The place is quiet and cosy, with comfortable seating. Friendly staff. Prices about average for boba shops. The smell in the place was wonderful, just as soon as I opened the door. Huge fan of Ocha, they open there first location in Windsor Heights near my job and I was hooked. So glad they came to Ankeny. They have a great mix of flavors of classic tea, flavor fruit teas, milk teas, smoothies, and slush. It's great they have options for vegan, gluten-free, caffeine-free free, and non-veg. Now they have Croffle which am super excited about. I got the strawberry on the cloud and watermelon green tea with mango popings. read more

I am so glad this location came to Ankeny. I have a sweet tooth and I love trying their desserts. This time I had the croffle with strawberries. It was so delicious. I do understand that help is tough to hire these days. They have young people working for them at this location and I wonder how many keep to the rules of cleanliness. The thing that stood out for me is the tray of cooked boba exposed to the elements - no lids. With Covid and other viruses mutating and most people not wearing face mask, one sneeze or cough n viruses are transferred infecting customers. Some STis can transfer this way too. It is also a violation to contaminate food served to customers. Was the health inspector blind to this on his/her rounds? There were no disposable gloves worn and my cup was picked up by an employee with her fingers further down the rim before it was filled with boba. She was at the cashing machine during this time. I havent gone back since this happened 2weeks ago. I will call the owner next to tell her/him what I have written. read more

For the longest time, I haven't had a good dedicated bubble tea place to go to in Ankeny. I'm very picky about how I like my tea, and normally I've had to stop in Ames or Des Moines to get the kind I like. When I heard that Ocha was opening a location in Ankeny, I was intrigued and excited. Today, I finally went there, and they certainly met my expectations. The location is small and has minimalistic decor on the inside. I was greatly satisfied with their teas. I got their Hokkaido tea (forgive me if I misspelled that) with honey pearls at 50% sweetness at the cashier's recommendation and I thought it was delicious! It tasted like a combination of coffee, caramel, and milk tea. It was lovely. I did get it in one of the reusable bear cups which were very cute and came with little hats (I now have a blue hat and a yellow hat) and my only complaint with this was that there was no ice in my drink. I completely understand, though, as the openings are small and it would be very hard to get ice through. Overall, I will be visiting again with friends, and I would suggest the same to you. read more

They completely rectified the situation could not have been more professional. I knew they had a good product but was relieved to find they also have top notch management. Everything is a very decent price and they have so many options! 10/10, amazing food and drinks for cheap that are so yummy!!!
