Janitorial service is here at least twice a week if not more, the place is very well maintained and the land lord Rudy is a very helpful nice man, he was flexible with us and very motivating and supportive. Plenty of parking spaces in addition to street parking which is good because its a quit side street. Nice views from both sides of the building. Great location and set back from the train tracks unlike other apt buildings in the area. Very secure building with key fobs. There are homeless people in Oceanside but that is any city. We never had a problem or felt uncomfortable. The apt is spacious for a 1 bed. Kam and Hannah were very accommodating to let us swap out some of the furniture for our own that we preferred. Otherwise was very nice to have some furniture available to us. Well insulated. You do not hear your neighbors. The rooftop was our favorite for the views and to watch sunset with a glass of wine in the evenings. Also, very dog friendly. Our pup played up there with other dogs sometimes but since there a few apts in the building was mostly quiet up there. Kam and Hannah were awesome. They were quick to respond and help with any questions or concerns. I would move back there if I were to move to Oceanside again.

The owner gave a pitch about it being a "community" but the overall feel was almost the antithesis of communal interaction and friendliness. It was actually so strangely quiet and sterile that I left early. Most of the spaces are empty with some early 2000s Dell computers floating around. Free coffee and one or two oranges in an old basket. That's about it. In short, for local Carlsbad folk, I'd save the money and drive to WeWork or just head to Starbucks.

Even as a visitor, each member there took time to introduce themselves to me, they were curious about my own work and eager to support it with their skills, expertise, and connections. This quality of mutual support and care was both a much needed antidote to working primarily alone and invaluable, in countless practical ways, for helping me get through an intimidating tax project. It felt so much more possible and personally fulfilling to run a business in the company of the Hera Hub community. Even after my short time there, members have stayed in touch and become important partners, mentors, and friends. If you have the chance to visit the space or better yet work there, by all means do. It's a huge gift to the area and will likely be a gift to you on your professional journey too.
