Well it was a typical rainy spring day on the West Coast, but if you are up here then why not take a walk along the water and then duck into the Ocean View?
This is part of a hotel and it is one of the only places with a view of the water. Most of the other places in town are on the Main Street but this is elevated just enough to see the waves crashing in.
We had a nice cocktail of the house red and a Syrah as we enjoyed the waves and the wind lashing the coast.
We also had a whitebait fritter as they were in season. The entree came with a fresh salad which was great. The fritter itself has so much egg though that it really overpowered the whitebaits delicate flavor, so yuh might want to find another spot that does it as a cake or perhaps another way.
Anyway, there aren't a lot of choices in this town, but this is a nice spot for a quick bite and contemplating what winter must have been like a hundred years ago :-) read more
