I read all the good reviews so was hopeful going in. But big disappointment. I will be brief: The good: To be fair, the exterior job was fine and he touched up a small scratch with some paint, which I appreciated. Window job was fine too (both inside and outside) The bad: Interior job was terrible. It was actually worse than a regular car wash job. (see photos and captions). My kid's sun screen mark, which can be easily wiped off was still there, dust and dirt still visible, tires were still dirty, and he completely forgot to clean the rear seat cup holder area. Again see my photos and judge for yourself. The ugly: When I started asking questions about the poor interior job, he gave me this attitude and rudely said he would not take my money and told me to go. This is an older man, and I kind of felt bad at this point and offered to pay him the full price and apologized to him that I didn't mean to be rude and that I was just asking about the job.. but he kept his rude attitude kept telling me to leave. He ended up taking $80 instead of the $125 he initially charged. Honestly, I think I could have just gone to a hand car wash place and got a better result for less than $50. I would not recommend and never go back. My job was done by Henno and my interactions were with him. read more

Very pleased that Heno was recommended to me by the local Facebook group. He has a 2 bay operation where I think he is a sole proprietor. You can tell that he takes a lot of pride in his work and wants to do a great job. Not cut any corners. His shop is very well organized, and Heno is a true craftsman that knows what he is doing. Took my Lexus RX to him for a full detail. It was probably about 18 months since the last detail, so it was definitely due, especially with the kids. Heno is very eccentric and I think that he gives the same pitch to everyone. He shows you around the shop, which is meticulously organized, and tells you what he plans to do to the car. He is a very nice man that charges fair prices for a well done job. He has been at his location for many years, and I'm super happy that I found him. I plan to bring back this car as well as my other car to him whenever a detail is needed. Can't recommend him any more. Heno truly cares and works hard. He always makes my car (which I drive and use a lot to move building materials and samples for work) shine like a brand new car. See photos for yourself, the bumper fades to grey/white and the paint becomes dull, but after Heno restores it, I can clearly see the difference of the bumper becoming black again and the car itself has a shiny finish like a mirror. He even told me to get touch up paint from the dealership, which I did and he used it to touch up knicks and scratches. Had our miata detailed, great price. Great result and just overall great to work with the owner. You can tell he loves his work.

I read such good reviews, and the owner was so nice and old school. I liked him right away. The price was very reasonable. I didn't spend a lot of time inspecting it when I picked it up, but after I took it home I realized several things that I'd say were an issue for a $120 detail: 1) The inside of all of the glass was never cleaned - not even the windshield! 2) Many surfaces inside the car were not cleaned and were still dusty. 3) The engine bay was still dusty (he'd specifically called out how he'd clean the engine cover but not spray it down etc). 4) The overall wash / wax on the body was mediocre. I've definitely had better results for half the price for a hand wash/wax (no detail) at other places. 5) A weird fake cherry chemically smell was sprayed into the car. I guess I didn't specifically say I did NOT want an air freshener, but this was an unexpected surprise. Usually they ask if you want one. I'm really sad about this... there was a different dude working with him when I went to pick the car up, and I wonder if maybe he did the cleaning instead of the owner? I think if I went back I'd get a better result, but for the price I probably won't roll the dice again. Hopefully this is just a blip, based on all the great reviews. If you take your car, make sure you do a good inspection and don't be shy if you see sub-par work. read more

I called Ocean View Auto Detail early on a Sunday morning because I was desperate to get my car cleaned after someone got sick inside. I cleaned it as well as I could, but couldn't get rid of the stench. Heno happened to be in that morning and worked on my car even though it was his day off. (He was only there because another customer was picking up his finished car.) After inspecting car, he told me that I needed a complete detail job that would take around 5 hours. He said that he had a reputation to uphold and that he needed the time to do a proper job. He then quoted me a very reasonable price considering all of the work that he was about to put in, so I left the car in his hands. I was amazed at the job that he did. Recommended by a friend for a detail of my black Ferrari, which I am reluctant to hand over to anyone -- called and got a same-day appointment for an estimate -- and I'll be back again and again. "Heno" is a small, enthusiastic fellow who has a two-bay operation in the northeast reaches of Glendale, next to Montrose. "I have been here 27 years," he told me. "When I started here, my hair was black!" He gave me a tour of his shop, where he has, seemingly, every kind of professional polish, wax, touch-up paint, leather conditioner imaginable, and certainly whatever else his kind of work requires. As it was already late afternoon, Heno offered to keep my car inside overnight and work on it the next day. I told him I was concerned about swirl marks from a previous rotary polishing that some misguided soul had done to the car. "I think I can fix, Sir! I do my best!" I had a good feeling and handed over my baby. Before 1 pm the next day, Heno called and told me he was ready to show me the results. I headed up to see him, driven by the friend that had recommended him. I wasn't ready for the amazing job he had done. The car looked nearly brand new. "You can't use a machine on these fine cars...you have to polish by hand!," he told me. Every surface was so slick that a rag wouldn't catch on it, and the wheels, tailpipes and all the other non-painted surfaces were spotless. Polishing a black car is a daunting task, and he rose to it beyond admirably. The price for all of this...a very reasonable $135. I feel like I found an honest craftsman, and made a friend. I decided to go to Heno after feeling I was getting ripped off at the local car washes after spending $30+ on a car wash where when I drove away there were water marks, streaks, and still dirt in the car. Heno spends hours on his work and shows great pride in what he does. He also has done extensive touch up work on scratches and make the car look new. What a little gem! I typically get my car serviced at Ken Daniels' automotive across the street (the owner Carlo is a real stand-out guy who's given me better service than any other dealership / mechanic I think ever), so I was curious about the little detailing shop up the road. I brought a new-to-me G37 in that was previously owned by my stepmother. In various states of neglect. Oil spots on the carpet, grit in all of the center console controls, scuffs all around the interior, SAND in the backseat from when she took her friend's kids to the beach. The whole nine yards of interior abuse. Heno made that car look showroom new. The paint is slick to the touch. Not a water spot to be found. I have been driving around for the last two days with a smile on my face. Heno takes a crazy amount of pride in what he does. In the yelp picture, you can see all of those cleaning compounds. He knows which are best for BMWs, which are best for Jaguar interiors, which are going to work best on the plastic front bumper for black-colored Porsches... it was amazing. "No Armor-All here!" he said. Let's just say that the quality of the work was outstanding, but the quote he gave me was far, far less than the other 3 local places I checked out online. I ended up giving him a lot more than what he wanted just because what he told me 5 or 6 hours of work would run seemed too low to me. Small place, so he needs to see the car first to give you a quote, but boy oh boy is the work worth it. Are you searching for an old-craftsman type of person who will care about your car even more than you do?? This is the place. And Heno is that person. First, Heno's rates are totally reasonable. I think he does this in large part for the love of it. Next, he does everything! He has all the supplies to make your car glisten inside and out - the seat fabric, the carpets, those clouded over front lights you never thought would be clear again, even touch up where he can do it on some paint scrapes (if he has the matching color and feels he can make a good difference). Really, skip some car washes and put that money towards an occasional detail with Heno. I am still laughing at how the paint on our 2010 never-pampered Prius beaded up from the wax job when some water hit it from the hose. Thank you, Heno! read more

Took my car here to get the interior cleaned because it was local. He didn't do a very good job. There was a lot of pretty big and visible dirty spots missed that could have easily been cleaned with a damp cloth. I ended up having to do a lot of the cleaning myself. Took two vehicles in for detailing and I ended up having to clean the interior of both myself. Hino was very nice when I dropped off the cars, and very disinterested when I came back to show him the poor job he had done cleaning the carpet and the interior compartments. Guys Heno is AMAZING! Called in at 8 am to see if he had time to examine my car and possibly get it in today (and he did). I work around the area and I told him I was off at 5. He told me not to worry that he would call me when it was ready. After reading the great reviews I was excited to see my car. Mind you, I got this car last year 0 miles and drive a lot, I have one kid of my own who helps keep my car clean, but 3 kids I carpool to school on a weekly basis and my back seats were in need of a good scrub. We also recently did a paint 5k run, which means my car was filled with powder paint EVERYWHERE! Doors, seats, carpet, it was so hard to clean on my own which is why I decided to Detail the car. Anyway, I just wanted the inside cleaned, but Heno went above and beyond! took care of scratches my car had gotten in the hands of other car washes. The leather conditioner he used inside the car on my seats and door was not at all STICKY. My car smelled great. there is absolutely no paint from our run anywhere! I purchased a new car a week ago and then went to the lake this last weekend. It got a bit dirty so I wanted to take my car to get cleaned. I seared yelp and most of the other places I read into had horrible reviews. I didn't want someone hurting my new car. So I decided to try Ocean View Auto Detail. I called for a price over the phone and the guy told me he couldn't quote me on the price because he wanted to see the car. To be honest that was a little off putting but since it was up the street from me house I decided to stop by anyways. When I got there he was cleaning another car and instantly acknowledged me when I walked up. I really liked that. Then he took at look at my car and gave me a price. Was able to get me in right away. When you read the other reviews and they say this guy is very organized and friendly, you won't believe how much this is true until you go down there. Heno is very friendly and did an awesome job. He really does look like he has a different product for each and every type of car that comes into his establishment. My car was done in about an hour and a half. It looks brand new again. I usually wash my own cars so I can save myself some money but I will definitely be back to have him detail and wax my car. I recently bought a brand new car about 4 weeks ago and it had been in the showroom for about a month so it had a lot of swirls in the clear coat probably from the dealership using a crappy material to dust the car. I went to another private place to get it washed and he did an ok job ..... I'm weird about car washes and people touching my car because I am a very clean person. I called a mobile detailer and waited 3 hours and he never returned my call. I decided to search yelp and I found Heno a few pages deep and I don't understand why he doesn't have more reviews!!!! He has been here for 23 years and was very kind when I called him to explain my situation he asked me to bring the car in so he could take a look at it and see what he could do. When I got there he was very pleasant and was astonished at how scratched up the clear coat was for it being a brand new car. He told me he would take care of it and call me when it was finished. It is in walking distance from my house. 2 hours later he called me that it was ready so I walked down to pick my baby up and I was so happy with how fantastic she looked. All of the swirl marks were gone and he did a phenomenal job waxing the outside and also did a clean of the inside. My mats looked brand new (they are Goodyear all weather mats that were in my old car and trust me, they didn't look very good before) it was raining so he offered to let me keep the car there and pick it up tomorrow but I decided to drive it home because I didn't want to get caught up walking in the rain. I noticed he had a myriad of waxes and Cleaners meant for different colors of cars and types of leathers etc- and no armor all! (That's a good thing) I asked him if he also does regular washes because I don't really like people touching my car and with what a good job he did I don't ever want to take my car anywhere else!!! He told me to bring her in every 2 months for hand wax and to let him know whenever I want a regular wash. He just obtained a lifelong customer! This is the ONLY place I will take my car for a wash/ wax/ detail/ etc. If you want a quality detail job or just a regular wash (again, quality) call Hano! Price was great, the car came out even better. Turn around time was a couple hours, I dropped off the car in the morning and picked it up later that day. The guy there knows what he is doing.
