We had an amazing time and we saw at least 6 different kinds of sea turtles.Shout out to our guide "Cesar Salad" who was very knowledgeable and very funny. We visited in August 2025 and unfortunately had Pepe as our guide. The trip started out great, but his behavior quickly ruined the experience. First red flag: he brought his entire family on the tour. That alone created delays and distractions. He also handed out "surveys" on the bus while standing over passengers, making it impossible to give honest feedback. *Also drinking booze while on the boat* The biggest problem happened during the Isla Mujeres snorkel. My daughter's mask was faulty and she was struggling to breathe in the waves. I repeatedly called out for help or for the boat, but Pepe was already far ahead and ignored us. His trainee was the one who swam back. When Pepe finally turned around, he yelled at my daughter and accused her of "kicking the coral," which was impossible -- the coral was nowhere near her and the water was too deep. He couldn't see her from where he was; he was irritated that we had asked for help. Meanwhile, all of his attention went to his family. At one point, the entire group had to stop because one of their kids wandered off which mind you, he kept doing that. The kid kept leaving the group and that was casually allowed while we got yelled at. When the swim ended, the boat took us to a shallow beach area where they were preparing fish tacos. Guests swam near the shore while Pepe stayed on the boat with his family drinking beer. His cousin -- not Pepe -- was the one checking on guests, offering water, and making sure everyone was okay. When we returned to the dock, he rushed everyone off the boat except his own family, saying the bus would leave without us. The bathrooms were crowded, and in the rush I accidentally left my wetsuit. I immediately sent my daughter back, but the bathroom attendant told her to leave it because she would return it herself. Despite rushing the paying guests, Pepe and his family then sat on the boat talking for about 30 minutes while everyone else waited. When he finally walked over, he spoke to me in a rude, condescending tone about the wetsuit, even though my daughter followed the attendant's instructions. His attitude was completely unnecessary. If the company is that stressed over their old wetsuits, they should ask for a deposit or allow guests to bring their own. Xcaret specifically told us not to bring ours. Other issues: he delayed departures so his family could shop, yet snapped at paying guests if they were even a minute late. And at the start of the tour he made a "proper Spanish" comment that came off extremely condescending. Especially because it's the first thing he said to me. I hadn't even asked a single question. Like Okay colonizer. I am Mexican myself and Spanish is my first language. Idgaf about your Castilian. And that was such a weird comment. The only positive part of this tour was his trainee -- calm, patient, professional, and everything Pepe was not. We'll be booking with Living Dreams Mexico next time and recommending others do the same. This is just a portion of how bad this trip went. read more

We saw several turtles, a huge barracuda, stingrays and lots of schooling fish... then into Balam cenote which was private and "refreshing" (a cool dip). Highly recommend for families!! Super safety conscious as well. read more

We reached out to Ocean Tours to book their Whale Shark Tours to finally check off a bucket list item! First off, they're really accommodating. Free cancellations 24 hours prior and we were able to easily adjust our reservation multiple times before our trip. There was a little confusion on where to pick us up but we managed to figure it out without any delays day of. Let them know what hotel and room you're staying at beforehand so they can easily reach you if they have any changes or updates. The boat ride was probably the worst part though. Really bumpy when we went and it was about an hour and a half of constant bumps. They were intense bumps so I didn't get sea sick from that but if you do get sea sick easily, they provide motion sickness meds (drowsy kind). Once we arrived, we noticed that there were a ton of other companies doing the same thing that we were. Two people jump off the boat at a time with a guide. The captain usually drives the boat and angles it so when you jump off, the whale shark is swimming right towards you. I got lucky and did 3-4 jumps and each time, I managed to swim right next to one for a couple of minutes! Obviously, it's not going to last a long time because there's no way someone could keep up with them. Unfortunately, we weren't able to use even reef safe sunblock so make sure you wear something to cover up! Highly recommend! The provided ceviche lunch was delicious and a perfect break after some intense swimming. read more

DON'T GO WITH THEM ANYWHERE OR YOU CAN BE DEPORTED FOR NOTHING !!! I highly not reccomend this trip!!! Tour guides were very UNPLEASANT TO TOURISTS!!! We ate lunch at isla contoy and took food from wrong line and the spanish/mexican tour guide (don't know his name, probably PEPE? but he was very loud, had very abnouxious attitude) was yelling at us and said that if we break any other rule we will not be taking part in snorkling and will be DEPORTED (sic!)!!!! :D He was very AGRESSIVE and rude to us. We felt like he wanted to show around that we did something very bad and we did not. We did not know that we should stand in other line because when we arrived there was just one line (after we took food they "opened" second line). The polish tour guide Zuza said to one person from our group that we should sit in different place but we were not together that time and there was nothing about eating and btw this is tour guide's responsibility to let everyone know if there is some rule not our friend's job. We apologized and said that we did not do this on purpose but she started discussion all over again (english tour guide Aleksandra also joined her for a while) like we did something really bad. The issue which was not really an issue and TOUR GUIDES BEHAVIOR ESCALATED BADLY and destroyed our time there. It was very unprofessional. After this, all tour guides were pointing at us and talking rude about us (funny thing we were in english group but we speak spanish as well). After this we felt very bad on this trip. It is just wasting money for going with them. It was the worst trip ever for us and we saw first time tour guides acting like that to tourists! After the trip we gave feedback in the car and polish tour guide said that we did not look in her eyes from the mornig :D was it the punishment or what? :D Can't I just watch the view from car window or sleep if it is early morning? While going out from the car she said thank you to every other people in the car except us. We will not reccomend this trip to anyone. If you can go with another company. THINK TWICE ABOUT GOING WITH THEM ANYWHERE IF YOU WANT TO SPEND NICE TIME AND ENOJOY THE TRIP !!! read more

On our most recent vacation to Cancun, my husband and I decided to partake in an awesome all-day excursion to Tulum; it was an absolutely beautiful day spent visiting the Mayan ruins, reef snorkeling, exploring a limestone cave, walking through the jungle and swimming in a cenote! Our Tequila Boom Boom Team of Arturito and Victor (excellent tour guides!), Nico (great driver!) and Tony (awesome photographer who took so many great pictures for only 45 USD!) really went above and be beyond to make sure everyone on the tour had a great day. Arturito and Victor were very informative, fun and helpful and were great at keeping us on schedule to ensure we had ample time at each location. We were provided snacks throughout the day and had a great meal at the end of the day. The only downside was the horrible traffic we experienced, but everyone knows that is to be expected in Mexico! All in all, we highly recommend this trip; it is worth every penny! read more

You could tell he really cares about the ecology of the area and was very knowledgeable. We just came back from our vacation in Mexico. While we were there we went on an excursion to snorkel with turtles and also to see a Cenote. The excursion was amazing! Our tour guide for the day was Erick and his side kick Arturo. They we're both fabulous but I can't say enough about Erick. My girlfriend and I had a fantastic time with the tour. We were picked up from our hotel (Royal Solaris) at 6:50am and then taken to the Tulum ruins (was about a 2 hours drive). There, our guide Cristina walked us through the place and told us interesting tidbits about the buildings and grounds. We had 20 mins of free time to explore and get personal pics and whatnot. Afterward, we went snorkeling at a different location (15 min drive). Super fun and got to see a sting ray. Before the snorkeling; they made sure all the equipment was on us correctly and demonstrated safe practices in the waters. They also sanitized everything and were super covid conscious. After the snorkel, we drove 30 mins to the cenote location. Before the swim, we had lunch and it was very tasty. At the cave, we swam through it and it was beautiful. Really enjoyed it. Afterwards, our photographer gave us a preview of all the pics he took and it was all great. Then we got back in the van and they dropped us off at the hotel (we were back by 5:30pm). I was going to write a gleaming 5 star review of the company. But they scammed me for the largest amount I have ever been scammed for. I'm pretty scam savy, as I used to work for a credit card company, but man they got me! The trip was great, they had a cute and amazing photographer at the tour. I bought the pictures using a credit card, BIG MISTAKE! It was a clip device in the van on the way home. A couple in front of me gave their card, then mine. The couple in front of me said they got a text message saying their card was charged for over $2,000 but they declined the charge. The guide talked it off that that's a hotel on Playa and we moved on. I really trusted our guide, he kept us safe and seemed like a great and trust worthy guy. My heart sunk when I was at dinner and checked my credit card and had the same $2,000 charge; but my bank let it go through. You can tell it's them, both charges same clip. And they both authorized and posted to my card at the same time. I prepaid all of my hotels 6 months ago so this is absolutely not my charge. I have not heard back from the company in 12 hours. I'm not sure who is running this scam but man if they did this to someone who only had $2,000 in their bank they could strand some one in a foreign country. read more

Fantastic Tour! Teens loved it! Review of 3-in-1 Discovery Combo Tour: Tulum Ruins, Reef Snorkeling Plus Cenote and Caves The 3 -in- 1 tour was fantastic and we highly recommend it to anyone who wants a fun-filled and scenic day. Our 19 year old and 16 year old told us it was the best vacation day they have ever had. Yes, they did and we were picked up at our hotel at 6:15 AM!! After everyone was picked up we were offered muffins and bananas. And cold bottled water was available all day. Be sure to take a snack if you know you will get hungry, or pack your own lunch if you have food sensitivities because there aren't any places to get food for the entire day. TIP: Take a bag with a beach towel, wear your bathing suit under your clothes and put on sunscreen before you leave your hotel, otherwise you will change in a small hot bathroom and not be allowed to put on sunscreen due to ecological reasons. Bring a dry outfit for the way home. Our driver Javier was with the van at all times, so it was great to know that our backpacks were secure. Bring cash for tips and to buy a long sleeved tour t-shirt if you want one. I think they preferred USD, but we only had pesos. Our tour guide Beatriz gave a fabulous & informative tour of the Tulum Ruins and then we were given free time to explore and take pictures. Next stop the beach where we were given equipment for snorkeling. We were boated out to a reef and saw quite a bit of sea life. Beatriz swims with a bright buoy so that you always know where your guide is. After a nice time snorkeling, we headed back to the van for a light snack. Cokes or water was given on the beach and an empanada, chips and something sweet in a paper bag back at the van. After the beach we drove to the Cenote. It's a drive through the jungle on a one-way bumpy dirt road. Once at our spot we took a walking tour through the jungle and Beatriz pointed out various plants and trees. We saw huge venomous spiders, giant bugs, iguanas - it was great. Then we went down in a cave a learned more about the history of the Mayans and the terrain of Cancun. A walk back to "camp" and a nice traditional lunch was served - a delicious meat, rice, and fruit. After lunch and a bathroom stop (think huts on Gilligan's Island for the bathrooms) we went down into a Cenote for a cool fresh water swim. It was amazing to be swimming in this beautiful ancient place with clear fresh water and lots of fish. After the Cenote, you can change into dry clothes and get ready for the ride back home. Kudos to our tour guide Beatriz - who speaks Spanish, English and French fluently! She kept the day moving and fun, was very personable, and it was obvious she has a great love of Mexico and the history. Our driver Javier was also very nice and was a good driver. It was nice to know that he was with the van at all times with our things. It was a great day! and we would definitely take another tour from this professional company. read more
