Really really good. Really good service and fresh fish. This is also like my 2nd review ever on yelp so if I'm posting it means it's good

Nice, friendly, family owned establishment. The food was the best I've had since moving to upstate NY. I'll be returning and shared the word.

Fresh uni. Delectable. This is very good quality.

Hands down the best sushi in Central New York. All ingredients have been fresh and high quality every time. Everyone who works here is incredibly kind- they once even helped us jump our car! Their rolls are delightful. The rice is seasoned perfectly. The fish is fresh and delicious. I especially recommend the salmon belly and the yellowtail! Sometimes they get in fresh uni, which is a delight. Try it on top of a sea scallop! They are very flexible with substitutions or leaving out rice. Their plating is beautiful and masterful. While I was there today, some guy came in, claiming he was given a roll with bad, old food in it. The staff apologized and offered to remake it for free. He refused. He demanded cash, and they asked for a receipt. Then he claimed someone else got it, so he didn't have a receipt, but wanted his money back right then and there. It's a pretty common scam, honestly. I've NEVER had a single piece of bad food here. Not once. I think offering to replace it or to refund with a receipt is personally reasonable, so if this guy rolls up blasting them, take it with a huge rock of salt. Anyway, Ocean Sushi of Oneida is honestly the only sushi place in want to go to in central New York. It is vastly superior to any other place I have tried.

Stopped by here on a Saturday night with a few friends and had a great experience! The staff was super nice and attentive throughout our entire meal. All of the sushi came out super quick, too! I ordered the Naruto roll, which was very delicious and fresh. I also got the edamame, which was well salted. All of my friend's rolls came out great and the fried rice was also very tasty. Definitely come here if you're looking for good sushi in central NY with quick service! I also found the prices very reasonable.

I'm a college student nearby and this place is such a gem!! The food is so, so amazing and has great quality sushi that is so hard to come by in Upstate New York. On top of that the staff that runs the place is absolutely amazing and super friendly, and they really make the place what it is. So happy to give them my money every time I visit. Forever a fan of Ocean Sushi and so sad to be graduating next semester! Please go support them!!

She was attentive and knowledgeable, and when we asked about the Papaya Seafood dish (we were specifically looking for the papaya), she explained that many customers do not like papaya, so the restaurant removed it from the dish and now only uses the sauce. While that was not indicated on the menu, the dish itself still tasted good, and we appreciated her clear explanation. Most of the food overall was decent and enjoyable. We ordered the hibachi filet and shrimp, avocado roll, California roll, miso soup, and spring roll. Everything was prepared well and met expectations for a casual Japanese restaurant. Unfortunately, the experience took a turn that overshadowed the meal. After I casually asked our waitress if she spoke Mandarin (which she did, and she kindly explained several things to us in Mandarin), a manager-looking woman wearing a dark green dress abruptly inserted herself into the conversation without invitation. She commented, "Oh, I couldn't tell you're Chinese," and then proceeded to ask an unsolicited and politically sensitive question: "Do you think Taiwan is part of China?" She continued to press political opinions that were completely unrelated to dining and entirely uninvited. Introducing politically charged topics to customers during a meal is highly inappropriate and unprofessional. Regardless of personal views, this is not something that belongs in a business setting, especially in a restaurant where guests are simply trying to enjoy their evening. Because of this interaction, we have decided not to return. Good food and service cannot compensate for uncomfortable, forced political discussions. Businesses should focus on hospitality, not politics.

They have a lot of fresh rolls which is nice since a lot of spots locally load up on the cream cheese and fried things (which admittedly I love, but try to eat in smaller doses.) My order came when it said it would, and the sushi was super fresh and tasty. I'd like to come to the restaurant sometime and try their AYCE!

The fish on the nigiri is sliced very thinly and I'm not too surprised as it's AYCE but just keep in mind the ratio leans heavy on the rice. Sashimi is also NOT included in the AYCE price and I believe it's $1 or so per sashimi piece so they do try to fill you up with the sushi rice. I'm not really a roll person, I prefer nigri and raw fish for my sushi cravings. That being said, Akina is very affordable for AYCE The service is good, I don't think the wait is incredibly long. Usually we only wait about 20 mins or so. They do have high chairs and the bathrooms are clean. Parking is fine too, they're in a plaza so there is parking but sometimes it can get pretty full there. I would recommend eating at Akina if you're in the mood for AYCE sushi in Cuse.
