This place is so affordable! Single scoop in a cup was just 2.50! However if your transaction is under 10 dollars they do charge you a 50 cent credit card fee! So bring cash! I tried their classic vanilla which looked like a mango but trust me it's so goooood!! Also tried the burnt milk and it reminds me of a horchata and a big red gum!

Cute little Mexican ice cream store located in Oceanside. They have many flavors to choose from. My favorites are rice, cotton candy, pineapple, and guava. One scoop was $1.75 and you can choose to have it in a cup or cone. Since it's been hot and humid these days there always a long line. Not a comfortable nor large area for sitting. Service was quick and you can get your ice cream fast.

Stopped in for some ice cream on a Sunday afternoon. There was only a small line. I was surprised at how many flavors there were to choose from! I'm a new transplant and was introduced to new flavors that I have never seen before, such as Mamey, a warm weather fruit. I tasted it, it was very good, subtle vanilla flavors. However, I was drawn to the vibrant sorbet colors. They had one called "Cactus Juice", whichI assumed by the color is Prickly Pear. I got a scoop of that and a scoop of Pineapple. The Cactus Juice was sweet and refreshing, a beautiful bright magenta. The Pineapple had small chunks in it which was awesome, and it was a night yellow. Both were deeee-lush and I can't wait to try their other flavors. Oh, and it was in the $2-3 price range. Unreal!!

This place is an authentic mexican yummy shop. I am so glad that I found it. I had no idea it existed and I live right around the corner. A friend posted a delicious looking photo on Instagram and I went right away to try it for myself. It's definitely a hole in the wall and not the prettiest place. It's very small so I wouldn't recommend heating it there, especially because there is usually a line out the door. But there's a line because it's amazing. The ice cream and sorbets they serve are so unique and delicious. They cut up fresh fruit in your cup and sprinkle Lucas on it which gives a perfect tangy taste to your sweetness.from standing in line, I have seen them make such interesting things for customers. The best experience ever eating ice cream. People are nice and care of your order,ice creams are delicious and all flavors give you a charming feeling of sweetness. Every time I go there to get some ice cream. They fullfill my expectations and always leave me with satisfaction and thinking on what flavor should I try next. The only bad thing that I see is that the place is small ,so some times the place is packed and because of the many customers I end up waiting a long line. Friendly employees, they support each other like family especially when very busy. My favorite is the fresh fruit with cottage cheese and granola. The Tequila ice cream Is my 2nd favorite. Lines are long on Sundays. My guess is people go to Ocean Rainbow after church. read more

Wow! Best ice cream, best prices. Just $1.50 gets you two nice scoops of ice cream. And the flavors are great, ones you will not find at a typical ice cream place. Burnt milk is my favorite, also have guava, coconut, and some exotic fruits that I've never even heard of. With the weather the way it has been lately, I'll be here a lot this summer. I've been searching far and low for a good place to get a chamango and this is the place to go!!! You have the choice of either getting shaved ice or the sorbet and you get mangos with it! I loved it and it's at a good price and size!!! read more

it's cheap and nice.. was a small place, long line and looked a bit untidy the day I checked in. However the ice cream tasted good:) nothing so fabulous like other ice cream chain stores but a nice place to get small portion of ice cream to satisfy your cravings! This place is a true find! You can tell by the line out the door 15 minutes before closing time. I tried the burnt milk, which was delightful and similar to horchata. I also had it with the oreo cookie flavor. Delicious! It was so good, we came back the next day to have more! I had coconut and strawberry, also fabulous. When you see the scoop pricing, keep in mind they use small scoops, so since the smallest size says 2 scoops, its equivalent to your standard scoop size at Baskin Robbins. These are all home made, so come in for a treat you wont regret it! read more

They are not closed!!! Not sure why Yelp has them listed as closed... Don't be afraid of the line, it's totally worth it! Tried the cotton candy mixed with bubble gum and the strawberry mixed with lemon lime sorbet. Their product is delicious and their prices are low. I love this place! It is so delicious! My favorite flavor is Oreo Cookie ice cream. Whoa, it is great. This is the most authentic mexican ice cream you will find in the states. They also frescas con crema, which is strawberries & cream which is delicious. They make malted shakes, which are so good! There is a huge selection of items. I can go on & on about how great this place is. Con: They sometimes do close earlier than the scheduled 9pm, which really sucks! read more

Went to this place for the first time tonight, Small line but no big deal. The Ice Cream was good. I had the banana split & for $3.50 you cant beat the price. This place is super yummy and they have a diverse selection of flavors like chili tamarind. Also reasonable price wise. I brought 3 kids with me and between the four of us we had a total of 9 scoops (two cones and two cups) I spent $8 total which is not bad. They also have lots of to-go treats. I have been twice in one week! We love this place. First time we came on a Saturday night and stood in line for about 20 minutes. Second time we walked right in on a Wednesday night about 8:30. Both times have been amazing. We have tried multiple flavors that are unique and genuine to its name. The rice actually has rice in it and is one of my favs and the banana split is bomb! Anyway, service has been excellent both times. This is a must try! read more

This is a family own business, open in 2007, after more than 7 years in the ice-cream business in vista(Paleteria Y Neveria La Mixteca) and many more in Mexico city. We decided to expand our business to Oceanside, Thats how we started Ocean Rainbow. Why Ocean Rainbow? Well At the time of signing the lease at Market Plaza Del Rio,one of the conditions from the landlord at the time, was to replace our company name with a more generic name. This location has great flavors and everything seems to be well stocked, from the flavors of frozen yogurt to the toppings. The staff greets anyone who walks in and they are incredibly helpful with samples and checking out. They definitely make sure to keep the machines and floor clean so no one slips too. They have a few tables inside to sit at but taking it to go is always easy. Plenty of parking in the lot though! Overall they have some of my favorite flavors and toppings. I love that they switch it up with yogurt flavors too. I love too many to mention here, but when they first came out with the dole whip flavor years ago, I was obsessed.

Up until about a week ago I had never walked into Ocean Rainbow, although I had always been curious about trying their ice cream and etc. I'm pleased to say, it was delicious! I had the water-based coconut popsicle. With each bite, it took me back to a nostalgic time when I used to live in Mexico and eat those after a day at the park with my cousin. I would definitely go back there again and recommend them to a friend. read more

OMG...to my surprise OCEAN RAINBOW has been CLOSED by the Health Dept for Vermin infestation as of today 01/02/15. I wanted my fruit salad and mangoniada. I really like this place but not sure if I can come back once it opens. Just the thought of rats running around all nights freaks me out!!! To the proprietor please do not ignore this issue...your customer's health s/b a priority. read more

My kids love this place. I think they are a silly for making you pay 50 cents to wear a mask in their store. They charge 50cents for credit cards under 10.00$ which is a little crazy too. I would go to handles if I'm going to get ice cream for 20$. read more

Great ice cream selection! I love different types of Mexican ice cream and they had it all! Not many places like this in North County! Just wish the line was shorter, but I guess the word has spread about how great this place is. read more
