A five star experience for lunch. I came here for lunch with two other people. Our reservation was for 1 pm. We left about 230 although I'm sure we could've been in and out in an hour if we needed to be. The parking lot had tons of empty spaces for lunch. We started with the oceanic role, which was very good. Then for my main, I got the seafood cob without bacon, I would highly recommend it was absolutely delicious. I also got a side of truffle fries because my sister wanted to try it. The truffle fries also had a good amount of Parmesan cheese on it. I would highly recommend if you like truffle fries it's not the super skinny kind it's slightly thicker, but delicious nonetheless. My sister got a fillet. She ate half of it and said it was pretty good. I'm sure she'll have her own review if you want more details on what she thought of her fillet. She also got a gin martini with a twist. They are not skimpy on their pours, they actually had more than one glass worth of martini so they had her take a couple sips so they could fill it back up to the top of the glass. It was very strong and two martinis meant she was definitely not OK to drive, so if you're the type of person that wants a two drink lunch, you might want to try a different drink or just go for one of these. Since I work for a healthcare tech startup I don't see people in suits that often so it was really interesting to me to see so many people in suits here for lunch. By 230 we were one of the only people left in the restaurant. There is tons of space so I don't think you have to worry about reservations if you're coming here for lunch. There is also a patio that is fully enclosed that has giant windows for you to see the lake outside, it looks like a beautiful place to sit. Wonderful night out for my husband's birthday! Make sure to set reservations! The service is phenomenal! Every staff member you encounter will wish you a happy birthday! So nice! They do have a dress code, business casual or cocktail dress preferred. Perfect place for birthdays, graduations, anniversaries and all of life's main events! They do have valet parking, highly recommend as their main general parking lot is very small. They have a couple of enclosed side rooms for more private celebrations. The bar makes tasty drinks as well. We had an oyster appetizer along with the wedge salad which they split into two portions for us, their maple bacon on this is amazing! We also ordered Japanese Wagyu and a filet mignon as our mains with mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts for our sides. All delicious and highly recommend. Appetizers started off amazing with the hamachi crudo and ocean roll. The hamachi was tender, thinly sliced with a little heat. The ocean roll is well balanced, plenty of salmon and tuna with a nice crunch from the chili crisp. House salad was refreshing and the mustard dressing had great flavor. The salmon nigiri was underwhelming, I thought the caviar and chives would bring a different hint to the dish, but it tasted standard. Highlight of the meal was the dessert. Both the peanut butter pie and butter cake were fantastic, cannot recommend these enough. We ate at Ocean Prime on a previous visit to the city so stopped by to enjoy dinner on their patio. Our service was EXCEPTIONAL!! The patio was pack but every member in the patio bar area stopped by to check on us. We never felt rushed, more like we were the only people on the patio! Our meal was split for us when we told the server we were splitting a meal and our dessert came with specific instructions so it would taste just like it does in the restaurant. What an exceptional dinner service and food. I couldn't have been more satisfied I could have fallen asleep at our table. This is one of those meals your dream about or you wish that if you were on Death Row, this would be it. As a Tampa native, I'm ashamed to say that it's taken me so long to come to Ocean Prime but at last I've made it and this place is an immediate YES! The food was so good and the drinks were consistently on point! We order quite a few things ranging from, lamb chops, filet mignon, lobster bisque, goat cheese ravioli, porkchop, mashed potatoes, cream spinach, lobster Mac and the tastiest dessert!! Everything was so good! We sat outside in the evening and it was a bit chilly, but that's not a huge complaint. They have the heaters/warmers but they weren't on at the time. I'll be back in the daytime to sit in that exact same spot and enjoy the view. I'd highly recommend trying them out if you haven't already. It is pricey, so bring your wallet. read more

We ordered a lot.. everything was well worth the price, though the jumbo shrimp only comes with 4 and is mostly paying for presentation (which was still amazing). We each got a 8oz filet and a lobster tail, while i got parmesan fries and she got mac n cheese. Portions were good amount so there was plenty to take home. They also serve coffee so of course I got a latte with my dessert which helped with the food coma. Dining for me is an experience, and unfortunately this one fell short due to the seating decision made by the restaurant. The outdoor bar itself was not the issue; however, seating guests directly in front of an active exit door is simply unacceptable -- especially when you are spending nearly $300 for dinner. Throughout our meal, that door was used repeatedly. At one point, a staff member even opened it for someone as if we were invisible. There was no "excuse me," no acknowledgment, and certainly no apology. It made what should have been an elevated dining experience feel careless and dismissive. Our server was very good, and the food was exceptional -- exactly what I have come to expect at Ocean Prime. The ambience is consistently elegant and inviting ,upscale with a warm, intimate vibe that makes it perfect for date nights or special occasions. The service is always top-tier. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable, and this time recommended combining the Prime Roll with the Dynamite Roll,my first time trying this combo and it was unreal. Crispy shrimp tempura tossed in spicy mayo paired with delicate beef carpaccio on top... insanely fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. Easily one of the best sushi dishes I've had there. Their martinis never miss either. I had the Black Orchid martini and it was smooth, slightly sweet, and reminded me of a lychee martini in the best way. The server said he wasn't sure and would check but after we ordered our drinks I was surprised to see the drink on rocks. Turns out it was the pineapple margarita. It was still good so I kept it. The hamachi crudo was amazing!!! I loved the spice but the mango was unnaturally cold but not frozen. We skipped the truffle deviled eggs this time but regret it. They are so good. The ocean roll was good but not as good as I remembered it last year. For $29 I would order the eggs instead. The salad portions were small but we didn't need big ones anyways. The salmon was fantastic but the poppyseed dressing was a little too thick for me. I'd get it on the side next time. The desserts are to DIE FOR!!! don't skip the peanut butter torte or the butter cake! OMG one of the few places I will order dessert besides Bern's. This place is upscale and a great place for a date night. We will continue to come back. Food is amazing. This place is a 5 star potential / sometimes. The food is so good. This location has a great atmosphere and the customer service is always exceptional. Today I had the Chilean Sea Bass and although I liked it and it's always my go-to when I dine here. Today's portion was much smaller than it has been in the past and the taste was not as good as past times. My wife had an 8oz steak that was a special order and it was the most tender, tasty and tender steak that I've ever had. The also offer a raspberry tea that was really good, it was overly sweet and it was just perfect. We were celebrating three birthday so the restaurant provided desert for us which was a very nice gesture and much appreciated. I sat outside to sit at the bar with the fabulous Ryan, he is always on point with service and personality. Dining perfection at Ocean Prime! My wife and I moved to Tampa from Atlanta in April 2024. We were celebrating our 30th anniversary this week and picked Ocean Prime to celebrate our anniversary. We used OpenTable to make our reservation and also mentioned that we were celebrating our anniversary and that we preferred a booth in the main dining room. Upon arriving and checking in we were seated shortly afterwards and were greeted by rose petals on the table along with 2 complimentary glasses of Champagne which brought an immediate smile to Wifey's face :) The vibe of the restaurant is very upper scale, electric and fun. Lots of happy people dressed well - celebrating big events. All of our servers were extremely prompt and professional and did everything they could to make this a memorable evening which was greatly appreciated. We started off the evening with one of their special cocktails - the BLACK ORCHID Grey Goose, St. Germain, Fresh Lemon & White Cranberry Juice - the presentation was great with the ice sphere in the glass with the orchid inside and the drink itself was liquid ambrosia perfection. We order more of them throughout the evening. For our starters we went with the Surf N Turf - Scallops, Braised Short Rib, Gremolata and the Sonoma Goat Cheese Ravioli Both were superb - the Sonoma Goat Cheese Ravioli was cooked perfectly and had sauce that was dreamy delicious silkiness. The Surf N Turf was equally superb. Literally the best scallops I have ever had in my life and they made Gordon Ramsay's famous scallops look like cheap diner scallops in comparison. The braised Short Ribs were fork tender perfection with a dreamy succulent sauce. For our mains I had the Lobster Linguine - Roasted Tomato Butter, Arugula, Chili Flake, Parmesan and my wife ordered an Italian filet mignon special they were offering that evening which was supposed to be leaner than normal filet but also supposed to be much more succulent than the normal filet on their standard menu. Both of the mains were outstanding. The filet was indeed leaner than normal and yet more succulent than normal as was cooked to perfection with a perfect outside char. My lobster linguine was also a standout. Very large portions of perfectly prepared fresh lobster paired with linguine all drenched with just the right amount of silky sauce with tremendous depth that was seasoned just right. The evening ended with a complimentary dessert offered for our anniversary. Our server recommended the WARM BUTTER CAKE with Fresh Berries, Vanilla Ice Cream & Raspberry Sauce and we were stunned at how great this dessert was. The butter cake was divine with wonderful taste, texture and warmth and was perfectly complemented by the ice cream, fresh berries and raspberry sauce -- an outstanding combination and surprisingly luxury dessert. All in all -- every aspect of the evening surpassed our expectations and we would highly recommend this restaurant as a go-to for any special evening. We went to Ocean Prime to celebrate a special occasion. The exterior of the restaurant is very modern and elegant. They offer valet parking, but you can also self-park for free. I highly recommend making a reservation because this place seems to be packed, even on weeknights. We sat at a booth in the bar. Our server, Magdalena, was very attentive and gave us a great description of the menu. I have to say, I was blown away by Ocean Prime. We ordered the Chilean sea bass which comes on a bed of broccolini, pearl onion, and potato purée, all topped with a truffle vinaigrette. WOW...the flavors were INCREDIBLE. The sea bass was insanely juicy. I cannot speak more highly of a dish. We also ordered the 14 oz New York strip medium rare. This steak was cooked to perfection. Outstanding charred flavor with a juicy, beefy interior. It went beautifully with the side of jalapeno au gratin, which was a decadent and flavorful dish. As a side note, they also provide delicious complimentary bread. We got the blackberry club NA cocktail which was tart and refreshing. I would absolutely come back to Ocean Prime. Enjoyed lunch with my coworkers today at Ocean Prime. Truly enjoyed our time. The restaurant is upscale and classy and did not disappoint. I had the shellfish Cobb salad with gourmet dressing (champagne vinaigrette). It had huge pieces of shrimp and lobster, adding to the freshness of the salad. So good. Started with a dirty vodka martini and asked that they load me up with their Calabrian blue cheese olives. The wait person did great, and shoved as many as could possibly fit onto my skewer. Nicely done. We did a dozen of their own east coast oysters. Overall they were good, but the wife commented on one that was particularly gritty, and while we can't be certain that's why she was sick to her stomach that night and all the following day, it's a possibility. Classic wedge. Had the blackened snapper, one of several fish options they said they received locally every day. Great piece of fish, nicely cooked, with a simple light bit of corn spoon bread under. Wife had the sea bass. She enjoyed it, though when I had a taste, I found the truffle flavor added the sauce to be quite off putting. Wait person said they thought the warm butter cake, offered as a dessert specialty, was made by angels, which was charming enough to get us to try it. While I'm pretty certain angels were not actually involved in its creation, it was good choice to split. So while it's a solid branch of Ocean Prime, no 5 stars this visit, for the possibility that it was the source of my wife's discomfort overnight and the following day. read more

As a frequent patron, getting seated next to the patio door was disappointing since other tables were available. The restaurant was busy and it appears they no longer have a dress code? We ordered a nice bottle of wine and were asked if decanting was needed. We responded yes, only for the server to immediately pour the wine in our glasses to empty the bottle. Is this poor training or just rushing to avoid returning to top off the glass? Apps and salads were good. Entrees were OK but some were not super hot. I recently had the pleasure of dining at Ocean Prime, and it was a wonderful experience. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was nice and the host was very welcoming. Our server, Matthew was very attentive and provided excellent service throughout the day. We started with the jumbo shrimp cocktail and lobster bisque. The shrimp was fresh and succulent. The lobster bisque was rich, creamy and full of flavor, with a nice amount of tender lobster. We will order a bowl instead of a cup for our next visit. For the main course, my husband ordered the dynamite roll. The plate was clean so I assume he enjoyed the sushi roll. I ordered the teriyaki salmon which was cooked to perfection. The shiitake sticky rice elevated the dish. I was so happy to hear that the popular Berries & Bubbles could be served as a mocktail. I enjoyed two refreshing and beautiful presented drinks. I rarely give reviews about service. I hope that after this feedback, the restaurant will be more professional in its treatment of customers. I wore a black dress (pictured) for a weekend dinner with my husband. As soon as I entered the restaurant, the doorman looked at me with disdain. Immediately afterwards, he brought me a scarf and "forced" me to use it to cover the lower part of my dress... He spoke loudly while I was waiting to be seated. Some customers standing nearby looked at me with scrutinizing eyes, which I found very uncomfortable.*** harassment . Some female staff at the reception desk "laughed contemptuously" at me... after hearing that employee say to me. If Ocean Prime is a high-end restaurant?! I looked around and saw some male customers wearing shorts, t-shirts, hats, and flip-flops being served without any "requirement" to dress more formally?! ***This is a very bad review regarding the gender discrimination and unequal treatment of customers by the restaurant. I feel get ***Bullying with gender?! The dress I was wearing wasn't revealing or see-through. ***It's terrible for the staff's lack of professionalism. He could have asked a female staff member to take me to another spot and talk with me there, instead of speaking loudly about me in front of so many people. I felt very embarrassed when everyone stared at me immediately after the staff member commented on me. I'm a frequent diner at upscale places often you can see from my open table history reservation that I'm not new to dressing inappropriately. I'm Asian, so the staff member seemed to discriminate against me?! As a woman, I felt humiliated and ashamed, and it was a terrible feeling of discrimination from the restaurant. I used that scarf to continue being guided to my table...and I didn't want to argue at that moment to avoid causing a scene and being tactless. I will share this feedback with many places to help female customers be more careful about their attire when visiting Ocean Prime restaurant so they don't experience the same treatment I did. We were able to secure a rezzie on a Friday night for outside seating same day so we were excited to begin with. Parking is by valet if you can't find a spot in the parking lot. Chances are, if the nearby stores are open, you'll be heading to the valet. The gentlemen working there were pleasant enough and efficient. Once inside, we checked in with the hostess and had us in our seats at our table within five minutes of entering. Plenty of seating inside and out with a beautiful ambience. Tables, booths and high top bar tables gives you a nice choice depending on the people you're dining with. The only soft spot we had during our meal was the 15 minutes between getting seated and being greeted by anyone or given water or a cocktail. Once we were greeted, everything went straight up. Our server came, apologized, introduced himself, and explained the menu specials and gave a good explanation of the cocktail menu. From that point, our experience got better and better. The views of the fountain in the water and the relaxed atmosphere made the stress of the day melt away. As for the food, order anything you'd like with confidence- everything is excellent. We had some east coast oysters and never looked back. We never thought twice about ordering the bread basket- a true no brainer. Baked to order and served with a soft whipped butter, you won't be disappointed. Follow that up with a crab cake appetizer and you'll feel your feet coming off the ground. Large and moist with large chunks of crab meat, this was a real treat. For an entree we split a special of halibut from Alaska and we were not expecting to feel that full after eating every last bite. Come for the food and the special feeling you'll have from just being there. Don't worry about the elevated price tag of the meal- you knew that you wanted a special meal to celebrate something important in your life. The extra money is well worth the overall experience you will have. A very fair trade indeed. You'll feel that your meal was money well spent. It's not like my favorite restaurant, but it is very beautiful. I love the bar area. I love people play the piano and sing. I love the specialty cocktails with the dried ice and the food is pretty decent. Nice atmosphere good for happy hour to pick up men. Lol read more

Food is Amazing and the ambiance is truly pleasing. Their steak is flavorful and so are their cocktails. I will definitely go back because the service is top tier as well. read more
