Echoing most of the other reviews here, Farshid and his staff were amazing and truly changed my life. When I started, I had immense pain and almost no mobility in my left shoulder (adhesive capsulitis/frozen shoulder). I was unsure I'd ever be able to surf again. 2 months later, I'm back in the ocean, have almost no pain, and have regained 90% of my mobility. I honestly can't believe it. The out-of-pocket (non-insurance) cost is also less than HALF of the other physical therapists that I looked at or went to in San Diego before Ocean Physical Therapy. Yes, the website and machines in the office look a bit outdated and there are no flashy Instagram ads from them, but if want someone who knows what they are doing and will get you fixed at a great price, I highly recommend you give Farshid a shot. read more

I'm at 80-year-old beat up ex jock who decided the only way to keep functioning was to get a complete left shoulder replacement. Great, successful procedure with surgeon, Dr. Chris Behr. As I came to find out, shoulder surgery is one of the toughest rehabs you have to go through and I've had a number of surgeries, knees, ankle, etc. from sports injuries. This was the worst! Without a doubt, my very complete and timely recovery was 100% attributable to the care and direction that I received from Farshid and Ocean Physical Therapy. Wonderful Physical Therapy experience! They are a small clinic, and as such, much more personal and customized care than I've received in large clinics. They always listen to you and want to hear how you're doing. Nicole is amazing - so positive and helpful and caring. She ensures that your treatments are done well and efficiently. She also takes care of ensuring that appt scheduling and insurance payments all get taken care of without any issues. Farshid is compassionate, very experienced and highly competent. I was feeling better after the first day, and it continued improving until resolved. And I'm still pain free a couple months later. I highly recommend this clinic! This review for Ocean Physical Therapy is long overdue. In late March 2022 I underwent Total Shoulder Replacement surgery at Scripps Green Hospital. A post-surgical course of Physical Therapy was required, but my orthopedic surgeon did not recommend a specific therapy office, which was just fine with me. I was searching for a Physical Therapist who had experience with shoulder issues, who was in my medical insurance network, whose office was located nearby - and of course, excellent Yelp ratings from prior patients. Two Physical Therapy offices met my requirements; a larger office with several therapists, and Ocean Physical Therapy, where the owner, Farshid, is the Physical Therapist. I preferred the idea of having the same therapist at each session, and so I chose Ocean Physical Therapy. I made the right choice. Farshid is really dedicated to his work and takes great pride in planning and customizing the best possible therapy for his patients. Even when my progress was slow, he did not give up on me! The stretching and massage on my shoulder was very helpful, as well as the heat and ice treatments at the end of each session. Nicole provided caring support and made sure I was doing my gym exercises properly, making adjustments as needed. You might ask: Would you use Ocean Physical Therapy again if needed? My answer: Yes! In fact, I am going to get my other shoulder replaced in mid-December, so they will be hearing from me very soon! read more

I fractured my left shoulder at work, and because of workers comp, I was sent to another place for PT. After 8 sessions with the other place, I had not gained much mobility. My orthopedist approved 8 more sessions, this time with Ocean Physical Therapy. Not only is it close to my house (added bonus), in just 5 (out 8) sessions, I have already so much more range of motion, it's almost hard to believe. I am very happy & pleased to have found Farshid, Nicole & Karen. I've had a chronic 11 yr lumbar disc tear/fissure situation with lateral recess stenosis. I needed a PT who cares & will be gentle, observant & intuitive & will help me one on one. Ocean PT is a great match for me! I truly feel like this is the functional rehab I've needed for so long. Today was my second session & I already feel like my brain & body are reconnecting. I've had 11 Years of neuromuscular imbalances, guarding & left side compensation which seem to be responding positively so far. I found Farshid at Ocean Physical Therapy to help with non surgical repair for bicep tendinitis. He explained his "no pain" approach to healing and gently yet throughly accessed my injury before recommending a treatment plan. I felt extremely relaxed, safe and confident as he skillfully moved, massaged and stretched the joint before exercising the muscles. While exercising, either Farshid or his assistants monitored my workout to assure I had the correct alignment and was using the proper muscles. In each and every step I felt protected and safe. I was referred to Ocean Physical Therapy by my doctor after getting a back injury. I was kind of weary about going to PT but I thought I would give it a try, and I am so glad I did! From my first session to my last one, my pain went down from a 9/10 to about a 3/10. I was amazed at how much better I had gotten! My favorite part was the electrode therapy and the heating pads that they would put on my back at the end of my sessions. Farshid has helped a lot. I had a very serious knee injury (from soccer) in September. Several weeks after my first surgery for it, I was not recovering very fast. I then went to Farshid and he immediately told me that I wasn't using my crutches properly. He helped me re-learn to walk correctly (with crutches). By the NEXT DAY I was (slowly and carefully) able to walk even without crutches! That was awesome. What an emotional boost. Then, doing Farshid's recommended exercises, I was able to notice significant improvements to my leg every single day of that first week. I loved that feeling of progress. I then had my second surgery (as planned, since it was such a severe injury) and am now in the longer portion of my recovery, which will take many months. I'm glad I have Farshid's help! read more

I came by in December complaining of a re-injured back issue causing localized lumbar pain and sciatica down one side. The first steps Farshid helped with involved finding ways to simply get out of pain, as I did not have any comfortable positions to sit or stand in. I've been going to ocean physical therapy for some alignment issues with my lower back. The group there is terrific and I recommend them. Farshid is thorough and uses a gentle approach in adjusting, so we don't do too much too soon. He does a complete evaluation at the beginning and reviews some stretching exercises I should do. He's very nice and answers all my questions. I trust his insight and advice. Nicole and Bryce are friendly and great in helping with the exercises in the gym area, appropriately correcting my form when needed. What a find! I found myself needing physical therapy for a recurring strained iliopsoas muscle and shin splints. I have to say that after several rounds of failed physical therapy with other therapists in the past I had my doubts that physical therapy would work. Let me just say that I was happily proven wrong! Farshid and Karen are miracle workers! After a series of just 7 visits my muscle pain and shin splints are GONE! I was given a list of exercises to do at home along with an explanation of what muscle groups these exercises were strenghening and why they would/should work. I genuinely appreciated that extra step. Everyone was a pleasure to work with...I actually looked forward to going to physical therapy every week! And I valued the one on one care I was given. With other therapists I often felt like a minion in a long assembly line of patients with no personal attention or care. At Ocean Physical Therapy, I was walked through every office exercise each and every time to ensure I was doing each move with correct form and posture. How refreshing! The receptionist is very friendly. It's definitely a small business, but they do try their best. I should mention that they have odd hours since the PT is away for part of the day passing out flyers, trying to stir up new business and whatnot. (This is what I was told.) Anyhow, he tried his best with me, but he could not figure out why my muscle injury was still bothering me after PT. It was a mystery to him. That being said, I can't give them more than 4 stars since they were unable to completely help me . I would suggest going there to check the place out first or give them a call. read more

He worked very hard on my muscles, explained along the way and gave me suggestions and tips. Each visit Karen, his assistant, helped me with every exercise. I can't say enough great things about my friends over at Ocean Physical therapy. As tough as my injury and recovery was, they made it a great experience. A little over a year ago when I was planning my move to California to play volleyball and enjoy the active lifestyle, I didn't think it would involve physical therapy. It was just a few weeks before I left Boston that I tore my ACL playing basketball, and you can imagine that I felt pretty crushed. I opted to wait until I arrived in CA before I had surgery, rather than push my plans of moving until after surgery, or even after rehab. As soon as I got settled here I started researching knee surgeons and physical therapists. I ended up picking Ocean PT based on a recommendation from my surgeon, Dr. David Tal. PT went very smoothly, and we took my recovery at a steady pace as they recommended. When they said I was ready to do more, I did, and little by little I was getting back to my old routine and then some. I've been playing competitive volleyball for the last 6 months, and at 33 I am probably in the best shape of my life, partially because the injury made me start over slow and train properly. I had an amazing experience with Ocean Physical Therapy, I would highly recommend them. All aspects of patient care are done extremely well at this practice, including: *Assessment - Farshid is extremely thorough and really listens to what you have to say. *One-on-one time - each visit you will spend a significant amount of time with Farshid where he will follow his notes and constantly reassess how you are doing. He doesn't make assumptions, he asks. *Exercises - he has you do a lot of exercises at the appointment and gives practical and useful home exercises. He is also very adamant on following up with how you are doing with the exercises. Point blank: you won't get better unless you do the work. He gives you the tools and makes this very clear. *Reception - I was always in on time and out on time. All the staff is extremely friendly and work together very well. They are flexible with appointments and there were no issues with paperwork. My particular knee injury had been a lingering issue for about 2 years. Farshid was able to isolate it to my hips and use the exercises to correct it within about 8 sessions. I'm thrilled with the work he did and am very thankful. read more

I cannot give enough accolades to the OCEAN Physical Therapy Group!!! The care I received was excellent. I have a rotator cuff injury that "acts up" whenever I do excessive lifting. I have been to a number of PT groups/facilities in the past and this, by far, exceeded all expectations. Reason - The actual "hands-on" time spent by Dr. Farshid Farajzadeh. Dr. Farshid not only explains the nature of an injury and how to best care for oneself, but in addition to the directed exercise done at the facilty, he, himself spends an extraordinary amount of time doing (one-on-one) passive manipulation. That really made a difference with me! I had never had any PT in the past spend as much personal time working on an injured area. I believe it really helped the healing process. Dr. Farshid is a perfectionist - in all the right ways! He does a very careful review of progress at the beginning of each appointment and implicitly follows his notes when doing manipulation and choosing exercises to be done at each visit. This is a small group - but a tightly run operation. The staff members were very respectful (and delightful) and appointments begin and finish "on-time"! No waiting! My results after 3 weeks were amazing. I am nearly pain free. Should I need another session of PT, I would return to this practice. I highly recommend this group to anyone needing PT. It is conveniently located - not far off of Highway 5. Even if you have to drive a distance to get there--- it will be well worth the time. read more
