Went to OC Smiles on Friday 3/13/26 for a loose implant because my dentist is closed on Fridays…read more Helena was great and the only good thing i will have to say about my experience. I didn't need a diagnosis, since I told the dentist that my implant was loose. He decided to take a ct scan, charge me for it and charge me for his false "diagnosis." $290 later.. he told me I need a New crown and wanted me to pay $2900 to return for 2 more visits to "fix" it. I Declined his outrageous treatment plan, knowing my implant was just loose. I waited until Monday with no problems and went to my dentist Dr. John Vartanian (Newport Beach) who did the implant for me. He tightened the screw and I was out of there in 10 minutes for free. I believe SoCal Smiles owes me $290 back for their unnecessary scan and incorrect diagnosis. They were trying to sell me something I didn't need and I'm quite upset about how this was handled when I brought it to their attention. I would go elsewhere and not trust this place with your time or money.

Thank you!

From start to finish, the process took about two years and two months, which was so much faster than he initially projected. That came down to how creative he is. We had actual back-and-forth conversations about different ways to get there, his suggestions, and how we could shave time off without compromising the result. He would show me visual previews of the entire progression. If we went one route, here's what it would look like and how long it would take. If we went another route, here's what would change. I could actually see the options, understand his recommendations, and help pick the direction. He kept me involved throughout the whole process. It was literally a one-of-one experience. And the entire staff is out of this world. These guys truly live up to the name Family Orthodontics. It feels like one giant family, and I cannot say enough great things about them. I was so happy with my experience that I recommended my brother. He got braces with Dr. Dean too, and he's having the same amazing experience. Look at the before-and-after pictures. That transformation means so much to me. I'm beyond grateful, and they have my highest recommendation. Thank you, Dr. Dean. You're epic.

I came in asking to see how much it would cost to repair a chip in my tooth. Mind you I came in to ASK, and they said let's run an xray to get a quote. They did my regular teeth cleaning which is always abrasive and painful, and then proceeded to apply flouride on my teeth which they suggested will help for cleaning. After that they did my screening and charged me $300. Told me that was the fee for the flouride and xrays which weren't covered only my usual cleaning. WHICH NOBODY MENTIONED prior to me sitting down in the chair. It would be ideal to maybe run my insurance and mention to me that these xrays to fix the smallest crack on my tooth were not covered? I did a walk in at a dental place next door for Victoria Nguyen and she handled my problems with ease and avoided charging me any hidden fees. Do not go here, I wanted a quote to fix my tooth not a $300 xray and some dumb flouride that I did not know was extra...
