I made an appointment for 2:00 pm and the place was busy. I was directed to choose a color and then I was kinda on my own. One lady told me I could sit in an open pedi chair which I did. But I was left alone until 2:38. They seem to overbook clients or don't really honor appointments. Finally, someone ran the water for me to soak my feet and the water was too HOT. Then they came back and adjusted. A basic pedi is $35 and a Deluxe starts at $40. Like everything, it's gotten so expensive to get a simple pedi. I will be treating this as a special occasion. The pedicure began at 2:40 finally. 3:20 finished. It ended up being an enjoyable pedi. The clay mask was relaxing and the extra massaging was welcomed and enjoyed. But...I think they need to figure out how to manage appointments better. I also am not sure I would return unless it was early in the morning and I knew my appointment time would be honored. read more

At the recommendation of another woman I chose Ocean Isle Nails & requested Hanna. I'm picky about my nails. Hanna listened to what I asked for and executed it perfectly. I went for a "hard gel fill" which down here is called a "builder fill". I also got a French tip, classic white polish that I like done high. $60 with a tip. She did a wonderful job! I made a second appointment! read more

We had such a great experience at Ocean Isle Nails. Mike and his staff are wonderful--friendly, welcoming, and they really take pride in their work. The salon is clean and comfortable, and they take their time and pay attention to the little details. I would definitely recommend Mike and his team! read more

I went to Ocean Isle Nails on July 8th. Today is July 20th. Here's what my nails look like. They started chipping right around a week with significant chipping on my middle finger a few days ago. I don't use my hands in any type of manual labor. I've just been doing regular day to day stuff. Their sealer looked tacky so I suspect it was old. I've been to several nail salons and have never had this issue within 2 weeks. read more

This place was great. We walked in on a cold chilly day in October and they were able to give us pedicures right away. They were professional and I am very happy with the result. I will come back! read more

I called today for a pedicure. They said, sure come over. When I arrived I sat in the chair with hot water running. Someone stopped by and turned the water off. I continued to sit there for 20 minutes with no interaction from any staff. The water turned cold and I walked out. Horrible customer service. read more

Waited for 30 minutes and 4 people that came in after me got taken care of before me.

Hana and Haylin always are great and do great work. Wife and daughter always are satisfied. Also do great design work on nails.

Surprisingly disappointing experience. I wanted to get a gel dip manicure. My niece and I made two appointments for 10 am. We arrived a bit early and asked what we wanted. Then we were told to pick a color. After a confusing amount of time trying to figure out which set of colored nail examples were for gel we settled on a color. A few minutes later we were greeted by a nice guy who was going to both of our nails - at the same time. I'd never had that happen before but figured - maybe it will work. We were told we picked the wrong example cards from the front and he gave us the proper gel dip card to choose from. After selecting a color, is when the real disappointment came. He used an electric rotating file to sand down my nails and somewhat remove the cuticle over the nail bed. He did not remove any cuticle beyond that (I actually had a hangnail remaining after he was done). There was no manicure at all really. No lotions, no prep. Just a rotary filing and some dip powder cured with a uv topcoat. Same for my niece. My thumb nail aches. The worst part was how costly it was. For 20 minutes total of service between both of us and no manicure care the dip was a $40 service. 20 minutes and $80 later I knew I wouldn't go back. Even in New York at my posh local salon a gel dip with manicure and massage is only $35. I don't mean for this to sound elitist. I'm grateful for the quick polish change (especially when there was sun and beach time to be enjoyed!) but the service I received was essentially an average polish change and not a manicure. read more

Strongly do not recommend!!!! The workers were rude, pushing around my hands even making me bleed! They didn't even do a good job on my nails, they were very sloppy! Not to mention I paid a pretty penny! read more

Friendly and polite service! We were able to walk in for two pedicures and were taken care of well.

If I could give this place a negative star rating, I would without hesitation. I am new to the area (previously from Southern California) and made an appointment based off someone in town telling me they were good. No flippin way! I normally do acrylics with an American Manicure and get a pedi. I'm good for every 3 weeks for sure so I like having a good, professional job. I'm not afraid to pay or tip. Since the move I was long overdue and needed a new set and pedi. Made an appointment and they sat me right down in the pedi chair. FOR 30 STINKING MINUTES!!! before someone came to help me. I told the person I don't want my toenails too short to just trim the big toe and that I liked them square. He proceeded to butcher my big toe so short and well, too late after it's cut! I tell him, "it's too short" so then he asks on the other foot where I want them. I tell him, they need to match so it'll have to be too short too. The best part was he snipped right into my skin on my 2nd toe causing blood non-stop so he shoves a bunch of dry "knick" stuff into it to stop the bleeding and proceeds to finish the job. Complete with paint all over my toes that I have to ask him to clean up. At this point I know I'm not taking a chance on a full set here so I just ask him to remove the little big of acrylic I have left on my nails. He does so, burns 2 of my fingers and all I want to do is get out of there. The kicker to this is this place charges MORE for services than my fave place in Southern California. What nerve. No I'm sorrys, nothing. Never again. Since I can't seem to find a nail place with consistent good reviews, I guess I'm back to doing my own toes and such. By the way, because he cut my toe, it looks like part of my nail is missing. It's not. He just couldn't paint it because of the injury. I'm sorry to attach pics because no one wants to see feet but you need to see this. I really can't believe no one even gave a sh**! read more

I visited Ocean Isle Nails for first and last time today. We had a very long wait which we just relaxed and waited to be pampered. Finally a young lady began to work on my feet but at same time she made a phone call and carried on a conversation the entire time she worked on my feet. I certainly didn't feel pampered. She barely acknowledged my presence. Very poor customer service!!!! By the way... She messed up polish when putting flip flops on, nails are jagged, did not scrub my feet. read more

This is for pedicures only. I do not get manicures and do not get gel. I moved here in December 2020 and have gone to several nail salons but kept returning to this one for my pedicures.. A few months ago, a new nail technician, Haylin, began working here. She is attentive, very pleasant, listens, and always has done a very good job. I wholeheartedly recommend Haylin at Ocean Isle Nails (the other technicians have treated me well also, but I do like Haylin). read more

Ocean Isle is an annual ritual for my family's vacation. We love the area and it's close enough to CHARLOTTE, NC to not feel like we are driving forever to get to our vacation. One of the best experiences ever at a nail salon. I live in Sunset Beach and normally drive into North Myrtle to get my nails done but I wanted to try a place near home and I'm so glad I did. If I could give 0 stars I would, I went there Tuesday June 11th and got the cheapest pedicure I could which was 40$ then I got a full set of acrylic nails with pink and white ombré. For whatever reason I was charged 140$ which is totally outrageous and I believe 100% they took advantage of me because I was on vacation and wasn't from there. They literally charged me for the coffin shape, the length I got and the ombré color. The vibe of the business isn't comfortable either because they constantly speak in another language to each other while staring right at you so you know they're talking about you, plus they also kept referring to me as a "first timer" in English and kinda argued with each other over who was going to do my nails. Hana that works there is very rude and has a bad attitude. It took her almost 4 hours to just paint my toes and do a set of nails. Which the nails are bumpy and crooked and I had to buy a fingernail file to file them down myself after leaving. Do not waste your time going here; they're awful and charge way too much I could've got the same thing for 80$ at my local salon and with way better quality. read more

TERRIBLE nail salon. I went for SNS. My nails look chunky and uneven. Not one nail is similar in shape. I asked for a refund and the manager tried to argue with me, saying I looked tired and didn't know what I was talking about. As I was trying to get my $55 dollars back, another lady got up and left because they had clipped her toe nails so short they bled. Eventually got some money back. Still had to pay $20. Going to a different place asap to fix this botched nail job. DO NOT RECOMMEND read more

Called and made an appointment for a pedicure. Realize it is a rainy day at the beach ( I live here and know better but had just gotten back from a long trip and wanted a treat). Was told to come at 3:30. I arrived a few minutes early. Was asked three times what I was there for (each time i said I had an appt). Then a young girl who arrived after me and did not have an appt. was taken before me. There about 4 people waiting for a pedicure and there was no indication I would be helped anytime soon. If too busy, just tell me. read more

I am sad that I must leave this review. The first two times I went here, it was fine. Not epic, but good and I came back for a third time today. Joe, who provided my services the second and third time, was terribly inattentive this time. Don't get me wrong, I really don't care too much for constant chit chat as I enjoy the massage chair and a book while getting a pedicure. But this time, "Joe and Mike" talked nonstop to one another. Joe even stopped my pedicure...twice...to make his point in their conversation. Once we got to the manicure, he took out his phone and proceeded to have a FaceTime call with someone; All while he was working in my nails. I had to tell him 3 times I did not want polish. I do like the salon, the massage chairs, and it's very convenient for me. So I will possibly try them again and ask for a different technician. Hopefully the females technicians will at least act like they are paying attention. read more

I am not happy about how my nails came out the second time. The technician I had kept leaving to answer the phone and the job he did was not spectacular at all. If you get your nails done often, you know this looks like trash. Don't waste your time going here: I went in, and asked for an acrylic fill on a set that wasn't even grown out much, but I had a wedding the next day so I needed to get it filled in. My nail tech didn't listen to a thing I said she just started ripping off my acrylic nails saying she was going to put a new set on. I told her I didn't want a new set, I wanted it filled in. But by now she was still ripping them off. Needless to say I said forget it, just file and shape my real nails and then do gel polish. To get me through the wedding and then I would go somewhere else. This is the result, acrylic left on most of my nails, Crappy polish job, and the clear coat not even covering the nail. Peeling on the side after a few hours. Needless to say I will NOT be back with how terrible these looked. I could have done better myself. read more

Visited 1 time for a pedicure. Nothing special, although the personnel were friendly. The manicurist was a bit heavy handed - which resulted in a bloody toe- no apology. Also no allowance for men who just want a straight pedicure- they charge the same as if they were getting a full pedicure -with no polish. How is that fair? In any case- won't be going back. read more

If you are a new customer, be careful. They are a lot more friendly and nicer to their regulars. The guy took care of me pretty much hurried up and finished mine and rushed to his regular customer who came right after me. Also he didn't want to wait for 10 mins timer and went ahead with removal. It hurt me when he was removing it, and I told him "it's too hot and hurts", but he didn't stop. I also noticed he skipped a couple of steps. He asked me "money!" before he applied the polish. I understand you want to pay a head so that you don't ruin your polish, but he didn't have to sound so rude. He applied the polish and left but again, the quality was so bad, I didn't even want to keep it. Should've taken pictures before removing it, but I was so annoyed and wanted to leave ASAP. Pretty much $25 for painful experience. Not coming back. read more
