The fish was highly recommended by people to my mom on Facebook so when we had rented a van for the weekend this was #1 on her list. The fish was super crispy and full of that awesome white meat that's flaky and flavorful. Prawns here were also really good. The fries paired well with the our dishes. Had tried the krabby patty and thought it was super good, squeezing the lemon on it made the flavor even better. My mother and I got a six piece meal to share with the coleslaw. For what you got it was a good deal. The service was excellent. The people were friendly and quick. The shop was neat and tidy and welcoming. Now the fish. The pieces were large and I enjoyed them. My mother needed more seasoning for hers. We still each ate two and brought two home for later. This place has been here for as long as I can remember. 20+ years. We come probably every other week and they remembered us from the start. It's so affordable and the food is so consistently tasty. Stopped by for lunch and ordered the fish and calamari basket. It's a small place with an order counter and a few tables. There was only one other person seated and eating when I arrived. A consistent flow of customers came through while I sat and ate but never got too crowded. I was surprised to see the fish was one long strip that was the length of the basket. Based on appearance, I thought the fried batter would be overpowering and rough on the teeth, but it was light and crispy. The fish and calamari were both tasty and I was glad to see that they had bottles of condiments so that I didn't have to ask for additional cups of sauce. The staff were particularly nice. After watching an episode of Broadchurch, we had a hankering for fish and chips! Searched on Yelp and found Ocean and it looked promising and conveniently located. It's a mildly sketchy strip mall location, but it's pleasant enough inside. We were greeted by the lovely owners and felt very welcome from the start. I can't stress enough how nice they are. We ordered a 3 piece and a two piece, one with the standard fries and subbed fried zucchini on the other order. We also couldn't resist the ideas of fried mushrooms. Of course this was an insane amount of food, but we have an air fryer for the leftovers. The fish was excellent, crispy outside and tender inside. So tasty! The fries were also nice and fresh and hot. The zucchini was outstanding, as were the mushrooms, which were huge. We have a new fish and chip spot for sure. read more
