The scallop dish positive was that they werent over cooked but the only flavor I got was black pepper. The beans themselves didn't have a taste even though they were in a sort of sauce. The NY Strip felt like it was cooked first and then had seasoning added after the fact so was very bland. At the end of the day, it was a meal and I ate it as I was pretty hungry. I would say that the room can smell a little a little musty when you first walk in but i had deodorizer which I always bring whenever I travel and it was fine. If you're expecting luxury, this is not the place but it's lovely, nicely decorated and really comes with all that you need. You might say it's retro or old school but it's exactly what you might expect from a cottage. I forgot to mention that there's also a patio area with a Weber grill and lovely wrought iron furniture. The shower was very hot and the bed was comfortable, which is important to me. :) I highly recommend and will definitely be coming back, especially since Hither House is dog friendly!

We actually were more pleasantly surprised with the room and stay than we expected. They worked with us on a late check in, the room and bathroom were great, everything was clean, walking distance to shops and restaurants, walking across the street and you're on the beach. We did use the beach chairs and umbrella one afternoon, those did have some mold or mold stains on there and umbrella was bent..but could still use them. I think they are due for cleaning after the winter, or maybe replacement. The sister property has the pool and we spent some time on the hammock and lounge chairs. They had some shade, which was great bc it was needed for someone fair skinned in our party. We tried swimming but it was just a tad too chilly to swim yet for me. One night there wasn't enough parking but we parked on the grass across the street and were told by security that it was fine. A con I'd say is when you hang the privacy placard on the door, the housekeepers still come into your room, and leave a tip envelope.. that irritated me that they disregarded the privacy placard. But hopefully management will see this and pass on the message so that won't happen to you. Hope that gives you an idea of what to expect. Overall would definitely recommend this hotel to others :)

Odd house/motel directly behind my bathroom window, but the Inn has plenty of cameras and locks to allow key-only guest entrance to the room areas/porches and courtyards/pool. The pool was in the adjacent sister resort, but went there once since the beach is very close, as is the town. The staff were courteous, but don't understand other Yelp reviews raving about how great the service was. NO free upgrade or anything else, just nice people/employees- what it should be. I intend to go back- maybe in peak season.
