I'm so glad Country Club dental proved me wrong!! The front staff here is superb. They are friendly and available to answer questions. It has always been easy to schedule and reschedule my appointments. I also have not had any problems with them accepting my insurance. They even offer a membership plan so that you don't need insurance to have dental services here if you become a member! I was seen by Dr. Gray and his assistant Sammie. Both are absolutely fabulous. They are very friendly, funny, and personable. Two weeks ago I had a dental cleaning. Sammie was very gentle taking topical pictures of my teeth. I think there was another device used to detect the density of my teeth too. I was impressed (and never got this type of service in Chicago!). They really check for everything here! Dr. Gray thoroughly reviewed my teeth, X-rays, gum recession and density and photos of my teeth. I was really impressed with the examination and the technology used here. They really care about dental health. At the end of my appointment I was even given an option of a manual toothbrush or a sonicare type replacement head for my electric toothbrush. WHAT?!!? My mind was blown that I had these options! During my appointment I had mentioned that my Chicago dentist had recommended to fill cavities of two of my wisdom teeth and that I wanted to move forward with that procedure. I also mentioned that I was prescribed some special toothpaste to prevent further decay and wanted that refilled. Dr. Gray immediately called in the prescription to my pharmacy to refill the toothpaste and we scheduled another appointment for a cavity filling. Done and done! Today....two weeks later...I just got my two cavities filled and felt compelled to write this Yelp review for Dr Gray and his team at Country Club Dental (and these days I'm only writing reviews for those places that are truly special to me). I'm not the type of person that is usually scared of the dentist, but I was anxious today because of my small mouth and possible difficulty maneuvering within the small space. But they had all the tools necessary to make this experience SO EASY. My small mouth was not an issue at all and I did not feel any pain! I had to open my eyes every so often just to check if my mouth was still being worked on because I was so comfortable and didn't feel anything during the procedure! They also had a device (that amazed me because I never had it in Chicago) that allowed me to comfortably rest my mouth, while still keeping it open, and sucked up the particles/water in my mouth during the procedure. I'll be annoyed if Dr. Gray gets booked up because of this review but life isn't all about me so I'll be okay to share him and his team. ;-) I initially heard about Country Club dental from a friend who raved about Dr. Fung. I'm sure all the dentists here are wonderful but I'm sticking with Dr. Gray. =)

I am not complaining about this bill - okay, I got the service so I would pay them, even though neither I was told at that time of service. But with concerning about too much dental cost I paid this year for my children, I asked them for a pre-estimation for one of my kids upcoming treatment so I can better know how much I would pay for the service. The receptionist refused to submit any pre-estimation because she doesn't know what exactly my daughter would get for her next appointment. Well, she had an appointment in two weeks and they better know what kind of service they would provide with. I worked at an insurance company before, and majority of dental offices submit pre-estimation for themselves and customers for better idea how much would be paid by insurance and would be patient's responsibility. It is a simple paper work any dental provider can provide to their customer because they know the service codes and their service fees that we don't know in advance. She finally said I may pay around $400 if my insurance doesn't pay any, and I need figure it out my responsibility on my own. I asked them to cancel my upcoming appointment, she said "Okay, perfect!"

The crown eventually had worn a hole through it, and a cavity had developed. The doctor did the cavity repairs, and installed a new crown. That was several months ago. I had complained about the pain over the next few days. I began wondering at that point as to whether the doctor should have done a root canal. The doctor sent me to another doctor that "evaluated" it, and decided a root canal was not necessary at this time. I am on Social Security, and that second opinion cost me over $300 out-of-pocket. So now I have to find another dentist to fix this problem.

That is when I decided I needed to take my son (3.5 y/o) to the dentist I have personally trusted for years who has taken the best care of my teeth with having my best interest in quality of life and financial interest. When we got there he reviewed the X-rays, looked at his teeth and then explained to me what his treatment plan would be. It wasn't that the pediatric dentist was wrong, but just was not necessary to put a 3.5 year old through all of that. He then treated my son and was amazing with him, along with his super friendly staff. I will always recommend Dr. Easter & his staff for pediatric and adult dentistry- there is a reason I have gone to him for over 20 years!

She said "Well, yes, but we (and she sighed) don't have a periodontist." I don't need a periodontist. I don't need an implant, my gums and jaw are not weak. I called my regular dentist office back and was referred to a different office. I called the new office with no issue. They knew exactly what I needed. No muss no fuss. I really don't know what this lady's problem was, but she must really hate her job.

Over the last couple of years I have had four different ortho consultations, but nothing ever felt like a great fit, the right timing, or whatever have you. Having train tracks in my mouth for what I assumed was going to be a long time was not something I wanted to be hasty with; I wanted every part of it to feel like a good idea with zero doubt whatsoever. When I came to Dr. Sturdivant's office, I was instantly comfortable with everything about it. It was, by far, the most thorough initial consultation I had received. Even with his many years of experience, I liked that he admitted he was going to get a second opinion from his partner regarding his recommended treatment options. A lifetime of brushing my teeth too hard had wreaked havoc on my gumline, so I also had to go a periodontist to get their blessing before he would proceed. Further, there was no sales pitch, there was no manufactured urgency, and he really took his time checking out my mouth. His estimated cost came in the highest of all four quotes, but Damon braces are more expensive everywhere, and this was the first time an orthodontist had offered them with any real knowledge to back up the recommendation. I only have my top row up, but will have my next appointment in January to get the bottom row installed, and I'm excited! I'm ready to be done with shark mouth! This office has my trust 100%. All of the staff are incredibly nice every step of the way - front desk, financing, hygiene and the doc, they're really pleasant people and I'll recommend them to anyone all day long.
