You change the tire and put on the spare, begrudgingly accepting the reality that it will need a permanent replacement before going back to Baltimore. *sigh* Enter Ocean Area Tire. Glenn tells you that they have too many appointments to put on a new tire with all the bells and whistles, BUT they will sell you a tire and put it on the wheel; you just need to put the wheel back on yourself. *** So, considering they were able to accommodate us, and did the work for basically the cost of the tire, and did the whole thing in under half an hour, I would definitely recommend this place at least for tire work. As an added perk, they have a REALLY nice waiting area. Very clean counters and tables (the bathroom virtually sparkled). Most impressive, there are loads of toys and books for children, which was important for me, given that my two kiddos had put up with enough delay to their vacation and were getting antsy. This place is just ok. The guy answering the phone had an attitude. We ordered tires from the Goodyear site and called for an appointment, they didn't respond well. It was obvious they would have been happier if ordered from them. You need to be extremely specific about what you need done because they "don't have enough time" if something else is found to be needed. The waiting room is great though. They have snacks and water if you like. The attached parts store is fantastic, the people servicing that side are great. I wouldn't use the shop again. read more

OK, so I brought my Toyota there for new tires and an oil change. The staff went over everything and also suggested a front end alignment which made a lot of sense as you wanna protect your new tires. We scheduled to have the job done the next day. I dropped off the car at 8 o'clock in the morning and went to pick it up at around 430. It wasn't quite ready so I had to sit for about 25 minutes. I was a little miffed because it did take longer than they had initially mentioned. The staff was nice and there was decent seating there for me. When I got my car back it drove like new! I have to admit they did a very good job. Being 25 minutes late, I want it to be mad at them but the results were definitely worth it. These guys really did work hard and did a quality job. Was promised oil change for $20-25 due to having to purchase oil/filter due to out of stock. Took in car and was charged $42. Reason was "upper management" raised the price. Total oil change with purchase came to $96. Wow. Being in upper management for over 40 years I learned not to upset customers. $20 is not much in my world but integrity is. It can come back to you. Been taking my 3 cars there for over 12 years. No more. $20 over future visits in the thousands. Lesson learned for them. Ouch. read more

I offered to drop the car off and was told that it would be ready after 3:00 PM. Got a call within an hour to say that the tire was fixed. Great service and friendly, knowledgeable staff. Alas, I have found an auto service spot that I can call my own! Albeit 125 miles away from my downtown DC condo, it's so worth the drive to get great pricing on all vehicle maintenance. Of course it helps that I'm venture to Ocean Pines every free weekend I have. So I have this 1996 Ford Ranger that I just drove over 65,000 miles last month! Yes, I plan to keep my baby until it just don't run anymore... no payment, no rust, low insurance, versatility... what more could ya want? So, a brief history, other than Jiffy Lube for the first time this past spring, I've never taken my truck to anyone for service before , it's all been done by myself or my brother and me, but since I don't have the means to complete oil changes and other maintenance myself anymore, I had to resort to being a real member of society and take it in for routing maintenance. I go in with a short list of items I want completed: 1) Oil & Filter change, 5W30 synthetic please 2) Tire Rotation - probably a good 15k overdue! 3) Check the rear drum brakes since the tires will be off 4) Cooling system flush and refill They said no problem, took my info and my keys and said they'd call when it was done. Since Jeff drove his car too, we went out and about to shop and eat. I guess about 4 hours later we were on our way back to the house and I hadn't received any word. Since it was on the way, we stopped by just in case they finished... and they had! Of course I was thinking the bill would be over $300... but to my surprise, the total was $134.83. They told me the brakes still had a little more than half their pads left and looked fine. The tire rotation was free, so all I was charged for was synthetic oil, a filter, new anti-freeze and labor. I expected some story of major issues with the truck since it is going on 12 years old, but there wasn't one! Any service shop that doesn't try to get over on me and doesn't break the bank gets five stars. Keep it up Ocean Pines Auto Service Center! read more

If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. I came in this morning completely overwhelmed and stressed. My tire popped last night in the middle of the storm and I had to be out of my place at 10 am today and drive 3 hours home. I showed up to Ocean Area Tire at 7 am and Glenn Jr. and his associate were incredibly understanding and willing to help. They got me a new tire and installed it within 20 mins, even though I did not have the ability to call beforehand and there were several appointments scheduled for the day. They were amazing and literally saved me, I would recommend them to anyone in the OC area who needs a car service. read more

Leaving the Ocean City to go home, I see a low tire pressure warning light. Pull over to check and there is a screw in the tread of my tire. I call several places with no luck since it is 6PM on a Friday night. Head toward area I know should have an auto shop ( Near Ocean Pines) and I see this Goodyear shop. Everyone was nice and professional. The guy at the repair counter said they were all booked up until the next day, but since he knew I had to get home that evening and had a three hour ride to go, he took care of it. Thank you again to the people at this shop. The repair guy even left a note on the drivers seat that said thank you for coming in, etc. They were great and if I ever need service again at the beach, I will definitely go to them first. read more

We got a flat tire while in OC MD and this shop was the closest. I emailed them my concern on a Saturday evening and had 3 employees respond within hours (after hours!) for assistance. Would give them 0/5 if I could. Took my car to get a flat tire fixed, they told me they couldn't fix the tire, but stripped a lug nut putting the spare on. Took it back to have them correct the mistake, and I was cursed at, door slammed in the office, and told they didn't do it. This doesn't even go into that they told me all 4 tires needed to be replaced because they were snow tires... I live in the north in the winter! They told me they had called, hadn't, and we're very dishonest about the entire repair that never even took place. Very unprofessional, terrible customer service. read more

Stopped in to get my tires rotated and possibly balanced. I requested a quote online and was left a voicemail stating to call the number provided to set up an appointment. Called the number and the lady on the other end told me to come on in. Upon arrival I waited to be helped for about 5 minutes. I told the employee (the one that left me the voicemail) what I needed done, and very sternly that there was no way to do the job today. He went outside with me to look at my tires, and just by looking at them, he told me that they needed to be replaced. I am giving them 2 stars because he actually explained why they needed to be replaced, but the customer service needs to be worked on! read more

Could not recommend this place more highly. My "service engine soon" light came on at 6:15 on a Friday night and they were the only place I could find that was still open. I'd been driving about 10 hours and they immediately gave me an oil change and everything else I needed even though they ended up working past closing time - and they were kind and thoughtful the entire time. One employee even waited at my car for me in the parking lot when I came out from the waiting room and gave me some helpful hints on parts. This is a fantastic place and the oil change was only $60 for the more expensive synthetic oil. THANK YOU for your kindness! read more

They were accommodating and had the tire in stock. I hate going to tire places because I feel like they are always trying to sell you a new tire. These guys helped me out but watch out for the tire road hazard they throw on the bill automatically without asking. The only reason they even get one star is because the guy ringing me up was friendly. I went in for a few things but the main thing was new tires. They had my car for 6 hours and when I get back they tell me they "forgot to look at the second page" and literally only gave my car an oil change. I needed new tires and new brakes and it was the only day I had that I could be carless. So my car was gone for 6 hours when I could have taken it somewhere for 20 min and gotten an oil change. Didn't even get what my car needed and wasn't offered any compensation. Ridiculous read more

5/9/2014 I wish my experience had been as good as the other reviewer. I called the service desk and asked if they could fix my windshield wiper. One of them was not moving. The person who answered the phone said, sure, bring it in. So, when I got there, I was told I needed an appointment. They claimed I hadn't spoken to anyone there. I knew I had because the address matched, their phone number matched the one I called, their closing time matched, and the name of the business matched. I said I felt they should live up to what I was told on the phone. My car was worked on for about 10 minutes. No parts were needed. They charged me $60 to get the wiper working again. I feel I was way overcharged. I realize a lot of places take advantage of women and overcharge them, and I'm used to it even though I shouldn't be, but this was ridiculous. I gave it two stars instead of one, because, at least, the wiper works. It's unfortunate for me that this place didn't work out, as I would like a place in this area to get car repairs done when needed. update 11/25/2014 I'm putting this down to one star. I contacted Goodyear Corporate about the level of incompetence at this Goodyear Service Center and exchanged several emails and voicemails with "Kim" who was not helpful. Goodyear takes the position that: " We are sorry to learn of the difficulty you refer to in your correspondence, but want to explain, OCEAN PINES AUTO SVC CTR INC is owned and operated by an independent business person rather than The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. Under present day federal and state regulatory restrictions, we, as a manufacturer and tire supplier are limited in imposing conditions or controls on independent dealers' service, pricing or marketing policies. In other words, all independent dealers must establish their own selling and servicing policies." That clearly indicates that Goodyear is unconcerned about the abuse that I experienced. After being dismissed by Goodyear, bullied into dealing with the same folks who had provided such miserable service, I reluctantly made an appointment to get the ABS sensor replaced and to have the previously aborted alignment done. I took my vehicle back on 7/23/14. When I was advised that the vehicle was ready the service writer "Andrew" made a big deal about the nominal accommodation they were making on the bill. I drove straight home and when I left again, hours later, after getting less than a mile down the road, I realized that there was a problem and pulled over as quickly as I safely could and discovered that the right front tire was flat. I called AAA, got the tire changed and went about my evening. On 7/25/14 I took the damaged tire to the other Goodyear Service Center that is owned by the same guy as the Ocean Pines location where this whole ordeal started. I dropped the tire off with a minimum of interaction with "Ivan," a service writer there. He called me back later and advised me that the tire was damaged beyond repair and I went back to pick it up. When I arrived I asked him to show me what was wrong with the tire to make it go flat. At this point, the owner of the two stores "Glen Phillips" got involved and participated in pumping up the tire, dunking it in the tank, looking for the typical stream of bubbles that usually reveals the nail in the tread causing the flat. That did not happen. No typical cause of problem. Further investigation revealed that the problem was in the valve stem. Mr. Phillips grabbed a hand tool and quickly tightened the valve stem, stopping the leak in seconds. The tire has continued to hold pressure since then. Now keep in mind that this mysterious, unlikely, and spontaneous loose valve stem happened immediately after a, supposedly, highly trained professional had just completed an alignment. When Mr. Phillips put the tire back into my vehicle I advised him that I was sure this was no accident, that the damage to the valve stem had been a deliberate, and malicious act done by or at the direction of the Service Manager "Dean" at the Ocean Pines store as petty revenge. Goodyear refuses to get involved so here we are. This could have caused a catastrophic event. At the very least, Service Manager Dean needs to be fired. These people are small-minded, dangerous, and unapologetic. Go elsewhere for service, They cannot be trusted and Goodyear does not care. read more

Just awful. I took my car there to get the wheel barren fix and Greg said they had the part in stock and they could had it fixed that afternoon. 5pm Mon. 5/25/15 I went to get my car and then they told me they made a mistake they did not have the part but they already took my car apart and because it was a holiday I had to wait until Wed 5/27/15 for the part. I called them Wed 12:40 pm and they said my car would be finished by 5pm. I asked if I could have around 4 because I had somewhere to go. I called and spoke to John at 4:04pm and asked if my car was finished he said they are putting back together now. So I got there 4:24 to pay for it and told them they could leave my keys in the car and I would pick it up later t hen they said we don't have a price for you yet but you can pay over the phone when it's done, To come to find out they never started on my car they just been lying to me the whole time. Now they said my car probably won't be ready until tomorrow. Beware they lie to you to keep your car so you can't take it nowhere else. If I went somewhere else I would have had my car because Advance Auto Parts had my parts in stock on Monday. read more
