We came here on a recommendation from our tour guide and it was around the corner from our hotel…read more We arrived 5 minutes after their opening at 8pm without a reservation on a Friday. There were plenty of open tables at that time, but they started to get filled up about 9:45 p.m. Yes, we were in the restaurant for about 2 hours-we didn't end up leaving until a little closer to 10pm. That's how slow the service was, but, maybe that's typical for this area and they seemed short staffed, only two staff for the whole restaurant. The interior looked clean. They had some decently nice overhead driftwood lights with Edison lights hanging from a rope. There was also a chandelier with tons of Rocco bar like water glasses hanging all over it that looked a bit tacky. The female staff member, who I'm not sure if she was a owner was hesitant to let us sit down but in the end let us. She wasn't friendly and basically ignored us. At least the second staff member who was working was nicer. We had to ask them to come over so we could start ordering basic drinks and food. Started off with a homemade ham and cheese croquettes and patatas bravas. The exterior of the croquettes was crispy, but the inside was super mushy, like pureed baby food. On a positive note, the flavor was good. The patatas bravas was unremarkable. The red sauce with squirts of mayo was underwhelming. It had a hint of smokiness, otherwise, it was just bland. We tried one entree, the Galician beef tenderloin with Padron peppers, and crispy potato wedges. It was impressive when it came out, sizzling hot on a stone platter. The impressiveness stops there-the beef flavor did not match. It was underwhelming. My partner enjoyed it more than I did. It also was seared on the outside of the still rare on the inside. So if you like yours more well done, you'll have to see if they can accommodate that. The Padron peppers were good, not spicy. Anyway, I wouldn't get this dish again. They also automatically brought bread with a pureed pear juices but we sent it back uneaten. Nonetheless, they still charged us on the bill for it. After we told the waiter, he took it off the bill. There were no wine glasses available, only bottles. We were pleasantly surprised to see that the wine bottles were so inexpensive, it was like paying for a glass in the U.S. or other big cities. The food prices were reasonable as well. Free WiFi. In summary, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant, unless you're looking for mediocre food and inexpensive wine. Also, pay attention to your bill!

Outdoor seating has three tables for two and two tables for four. They seem short-staffed as there were only two staff for the whole restaurant. Not sure if this is typical for the restaurants in the area. It took a long time to get our water and wine - we received them after receiving our appetizer but only after we reminded the staff. We first tried the Baratta salad and oxtail croquettes. Both were very good. The Baratta salad was advertised as coming with walnut pesto, but it looked like they were actually peanuts. It also had dried raisins- the flavor is not like the typical U.S. kinds. The raisins don't have the distinct grape flavor and are more of a mild sweetness. For our main dishes we got the Girona beef steak and the crunchy Kentucky style pork. The Kentucky style pork was better than the Girona beef steak but I still enjoyed the steak. The pork was deep fried perfectly crispy that it was indeed crunchy. It was topped with melted mozzarella cheese and oregano seasoned sliced tomatoes. It came with a mashed potatoes with a ham tasting broth. You get to choose the weight of the steak with a minimum of 200 grams, which was more than enough for me. The steak came with three small sides, including mashed potatoes with a ham tasting broth, what tasted like herb infused mayonnaise, and some kind of hummus. I didn't care for any of the sides. We also enjoyed their Monsant traditional red wine 2020. This was a great restaurant to try for dinner, especially since it was just around the corner from our hotel.

In his namesake restaurant in Barcelona, he creates an authentic Catalonia-inspired menu using only certified local ingredients that are sustainable, organic, and ethically sourced wherever possible. Sergi de Meia's commitment to not only outstanding cuisine, but also to the environment and the community is impressive. A friend and I enjoyed an outstanding dinner at Sergi de Meia. The staff was wonderful, providing impeccable and attentive service that goes above and beyond the standard of hospitality. I thought the restaurant design was beautiful, and while the space is narrow and deep, the décor is light and contemporary, which makes for a great atmosphere. We share similar tastes, so my friend and I each ate the same dishes. We started with a taste of cauliflower cream, with pea shoots and crushed nuts. The cream was smooth and the nuts added a crunchy texture. The local asparagus with sheep's cheese cream and herbs was fresh and earthy, the vegetable tender and not tough, while the cream was salty and seasoned with the right mix of herbs. We also tried eggs and potato riojana style, and the flavors really gave a sense of the famous region of Spain. During the main course, we enjoyed fresh fish from the local market, with fresh green peas, chanterelle and saffron, which added a beautiful dose of color. We also loved the dish of local sheep, pumpkin, egg and cheese, as the texture provided an outstanding mouthfeel and is the epitome of local comfort food. For dessert, the server recommended the specialty chickpea fritters with cream, which use the traditional Catalonian chickpea flour. They were sweet and dense, a perfect way to end the delicious meal.

It was incredible to think that the Chef that arranged the menu, brought our food, gave us a bit of a story behind the dishes. All while looking over as the crowd steadily built through our dinner. It is such a rare dinning experience. We had a prefix menu with some options to select from. The timing was great, not fast giving you time to enjoy every bite. The food was hot which was important since it was such delicate dishes. So much flavor, we tried food outside our comfort zone and loved it. Chef Sergi really nails the pairings in food selection. I do not believe you can get a better meal than here in all of Barcelona. We only wish he had a restaurant in Los Angeles, California.

Totally renovated and full of charm, the building opened its doors to the public a couple of years ago. From the top of the mound where it stands, unveils a beautiful view on the valley, residential neighborhood and Emporda area. When lavender is in blossom here in the garden the smell is just incredible. You can sit inside, but outside patio is so cozy, private and lovely, that you'll definitely will feel comfortable and snug. It's so nice and quiet there, that you forget of the noise and the clutter of the beach cities nearby. Conceptual Mediterranean Cuisine with a personal touch focused on the use of freshest local products. Fish of Palamos and meat from Girona area delivered daily. You can sip wine with local olives enjoying the magic moment of purple time after the sunset. The amuse bouche was the potato mousse with a hint of foie gras, yummy. Whether you start with Jamon Iberico, cheese plate or salad with marinated salmon - it's all good. My personal choice was "Tartar de pato" (duck tartar) which is quite unusual, cause we're used to beef tartar, salmon or tuna. But this one is melting in your mouth and the combination with jamon is a nice touch. Too much of mustard for me, but that was placed separately on the plate, so if you're not a fan of this zest like me, it doesn't influence on the taste of the dish if you don't want it to. Cod fritters are delicate. Lobster stuffed ravioli with saffron sauce were very savory. Cabritio (which is goatling confit) with rosemary honey and potatoes was refined and just perfect. As for dessert - try "Valerie" which is fresh cheesecake with strawberry jam or apple toffee with vanilla ice cream. I have to say here that the carte is so perfectly composed, that you can't help wanting to try most of the dishes and it means that you have to come back for more like they say. There is a couple variations of the menu. Both are ready sets, the Degustation Menu is 55 Euros and Mas Falet Menu is 43 Euros only. All in all, the prices are more than reasonable, considering the quality and exquisite taste. They offer a Kids Menu which is not typical for the place of such approach towards Michelin star restaurant, but it's interesting too and quite diverse. Why not?! It's at the hotel and convenient for some customers. The wine list is not too extensive, there are only four wines out of Spain and that's their conception, some may find that inconvenient, but the impressive fine section consists of wines from the region of Emporda, where, relatively speaking, is located the restaurant. The wine industry in this region has made a big leap forward lately. And following the advice of a very charming sommelier, we chose the wine from the property visible from the restaurant: Clos d'Agon, and were not a bit disappointed. Next time Sommelier promised to get us out of his cellar the stashed bottle of old vintage, so this is one more reason to come back. The service is exceptional; all waiters are charming and helpful. Even if you don't speak Spanish you won't feel uncomfortable or lost. Overall - just adorable experience and a place to come back. Free parking.
