PLEASE READ! When my daughter had her initial consultation…read morewith Merry, she was told by Merry that she would have 2-4 interns to assist her with the wedding event. Merry informed my daughter that the interns would be included in her hourly rate, which then seemed reasonable for her $45 per hour rate (Merry also charges for her driving time to & from event). Merry showed up to the wedding with no interns. Merry informed us later that she made a judgment call that the interns would not be needed at this particular event. The hourly rate still applied. Merry met us at the venue 3 weeks prior to the wedding to go over the specifics of what duties were needed from her - mainly assisting with appetizer/dessert table set-ups, refilling, clean-up of hall and packaging of food items. This was indicated once more in a text message and also in a detailed list that was left for her at the venue. We scheduled Merry to arrive 2 1/2 hours prior to wedding to ensure her plenty of time to tray and set up these tables before guests arrived. The appetizer trays had to be redone by a guest because of the disarray of items Merry placed together. The cookie trays were left incomplete, with the packages left on the table. Another guest completed the plating and stored the packaging. Family members and guests had to repeatedly approach Merry about refilling the trays; Merry stated to one guest that she didn't know she was responsible for that. Merry appeared to be more interested sitting at a table on her cell phone than she did completing the duties that she was hired to do. Merry also had to be reminded to start cleaning up tables as people finished their meals and left to socialize and dance. Several guests came up to my husband and I making comments about their concerns regarding our "Day of Coordinator". Up until this point, I accepted the fact that we made a poor decision in hiring Merry for her sub-par services. I WAS SHOCKED and APPALLED at what our guests shared with us. Merry was going around and scratching off the lottery tickets that were meant as favors for our guests!!! Multiple guests that were sitting in different areas around the venue witnessed Merry doing this. Not only was Merry dishonest with the scope of services she was to provide (no interns) - Merry decided to "help herself" to gifts meant for guests! Purely disgusted with this type of behavior happening at our daughters wedding...from someone that we trusted and hired to make the day less stressful! Merry did admit that she scratched off "ONLY 2 TICKETS". I guess admitting to scratching off "only 2 tickets" doesn't count as being dishonest or despicable, or count as being grossly unprofessional. We know better Merry, we trust our friends and family members that witnessed you. Merry, you revealed yourself - I just hope that this review will help reveal you to others considering to hire you for future services. Police report was made. Merry accepted a reduced fee.

Their communication was top notch and they answered every question a nervous bride had! DJ Jon played every song request our guests had throughout the night and even when the party was dying down. Original review: I'm sorry, but I wouldn't hire Jon for your wedding. He played the wrong song (a…read moresurprise I hid for the entirety of our wedding planning) for when I walked down the aisle. During our first dance he kept playing with the fade and the music kept going in and out. A problem that followed him randomly the rest of the evening. He didn't start it right at the beginning either, so we were off one beat for our choreographed dance. He played songs through their entirety instead of skipping along, so people got bored of dancing after a minute. He said he'd skip through halfway or around a minute and told me to add extra songs. He didn't end the mother son dance at the right time either. It went on way too long, longer than they had practiced for, and I had to motion for him to cut the music. My husband had to tell his mom they were done and bowed before he cut it. All of this was specified in the planning forms then again over the phone We also asked that he did not allow song requests. Guess what happened? He allowed them, ruined the playlist I made, and I couldn't say no to the friends who asked me for a specific song after that. People requested songs during the wedding shower and didn't get to hear them! My husband is mad we tipped him before the night was over and after he messed up the biggest moment and surprise, which was walking down the aisle! I didn't even have the song he played listed (it was something from Phantom of the Opera, I requested a piano version of "All of Me", my husband's favorite song). You could hire him for a galla or birthday party, but not your wedding. You have too much to lose. Updated review: This man harassed me through text and calls for two days to remove our review. I HAD TO BLOCK HIM. He was trying to gaslight me, while in the same instance admitting he made huge mistakes. He tried to bribe us with money to take the reviews down, but not as a refund for doing a poor job. Only in exchange for a new removal of the old ones. I'm also going to mention he took photos during our "no phones" ceremony to promote his business. The only person standing in the aisle taking photos should have been our photographer. We were polite and formal to him especially the day of, and wrote the reviews when we returned from our honeymoon. I felt they were critical but not hateful. Two stars was generous. It's a good thing we weren't critical to him the day of because I'm certain he would have walked out. He also demands cash, check, or Zelle, so if something goes wrong or he doesn't show, you cannot refute the payment. Because this man was so insistent we speak in person, I now fear for my safety! This is a formal request to this business and anyone affiliated to stop contacting me and my family! DO NOT CONTACT ME FURTHER.

I made the bouquets by…read morehand, helped organize details behind the scenes, and was genuinely excited to celebrate one of my best friend's biggest days. First, I want to be fair because there were many things that were done well. The venue is absolutely beautiful, and the décor came together exactly as we had envisioned. It truly was a beautiful wedding. Many of our guests complimented the food, and several members of the staff, especially Iris at the bar and LaCiana, were incredibly kind, professional, and helpful throughout the day. Their efforts, especially when helping de-escalate stressful moments, did not go unnoticed. What made this experience so disappointing is that we've planned and executed a wedding ourselves before. It was on a much smaller budget and with only about a month to prepare, so we understand firsthand how much work goes into making a wedding successful. Because of that experience, hiring a venue that offered coordination was one of the easiest decisions to make. Not because we couldn't do it ourselves, but because we didn't want to. We wanted the bride and groom, their families, and the bridal party to simply enjoy the day while experienced professionals handled the logistics. Unfortunately, that's not how the day unfolded. Throughout the day, there were communication breakdowns, timeline confusion, setup issues, meal service problems, bar service concerns, and an abrupt end to the reception that left many guests unsure of what was happening. Instead of simply celebrating, members of the bridal party and family found themselves helping manage situations that should have been handled by the professionals hired to coordinate the event. As someone currently pursuing a Business Management degree, I couldn't help but notice that the biggest issue wasn't that mistakes happened. Every wedding has unexpected challenges. The difference is how those challenges are communicated, managed, and resolved. The venue has so much potential, which honestly makes this review even harder to write. I genuinely hope improvements are made because every couple deserves to spend their wedding day fully present, surrounded by the people they love, rather than relying on family and friends to help coordinate the event they paid professionals to manage.

Lasting Impressions Events - cream & gold

    Lasting Impressions Events

    (2 reviews)

This is a long review but we encourage you to read it…read more Overall, our "Lasting Impression" is that the company was unprofessional and did not deliver what we paid for. JP, the President, was incredibly rude and awful to work with. We rented a large tent (40'x120'), dance floor, chairs, tables, glassware, etc for our 200 person backyard wedding. They created a digital layout for us, showing exactly where the tent poles would land and where our dance floor and tables would be. They also visited the event site twice to make sure the tent would fit there. JP visited the site himself and told us it would work. A crew delivered and set up the tent. They left large holes in the yard which we had to repair to avoid injury to our guests. They also mistakenly put an extra anchor in the yard which we had to ask them to remove. Many of the poles were crooked and the tent had visible stains. When the crew came to install the dance floor, we were told they couldn't install it as previously diagrammed by Lasting Impressions and as agreed to/contracted/and paid for by us. The floor installer commented on how crooked the tent installation was and couldn't seem to figure out how to install the dance floor with the tent poles in place. My father had to spend several hours working with the floor installer, loaned him a tape measure (since he barely had any tools) and helped him figure out how to get most of the flooring installed. In the diagram, the tent poles were shown to go on top of the dance floor. However, when they showed up to install it, they told us that the pole would have to go on grass instead. So, we had a dance floor with a hole in the center, another trip hazard for our guests and not what we had agreed to or wanted. In addition, due to the pole placement, we had to forgo an entire row of our dance floor, which we had already paid for. As for pick up after the wedding, there was no communication. We were originally told Monday or Tuesday, and that they would follow up with an exact time. We emailed and called JP to see when everything was going to be picked up, but never got a response. Instead the truck showed up in our driveway in the afternoon. Thankfully we were home to receive them. Afterwards, we reached out to JP to ask for a refund for the dance floor that his team did not put down for us. Not only did he refuse to refund us, he accused us of making his team wait for us to remove lighting from the tent (they were not delayed) and he didn't even apologize for their error. After a mistake that big, that's the very least he could do. Additionally, when trying to rent everything for the wedding, JP would send us quotes with items missing and inconsistent prices. In the few weeks leading up, we had to follow up with him several times to make sure that we did, in fact, have everything reserved. We had never received a final agreement or notice for final payment so we reached out to them. JP blamed us, claiming he had asked us for the signed estimate many times but never received it. We forwarded him the email where we had sent the signed estimate several weeks earlier, but he never acknowledged it. When JP eventually sent the final agreement, the prices had been raised from the original quote. We asked about it and were told that we were supposed to be charged for an extra delivery charge, so really we were still saving money.  The final agreement was also missing several items from the original quote, including the propane oven that was going to be used to cook our guests' food. If we had not double and triple checked everything, it could have been a disaster. Lasting Impressions was disorganized, hostile, and made promises they couldn't keep. They put their customers in an impossible position because it's too late to make changes or hire anyone else. The bottom line is - don't trust Lasting Impressions with your event, especially something as important as a wedding.

I thought sure that's fine. They never told us they also gave us different size uprights than what we ordered. So, day of, we're setting up and uprights are way too big. No phone call, just repetitive emails 2 days after I tried to contact them denying any mistake on their part. No following up unless I kept bothering them. They appear to be very disorganized and just downright don't seem to care about anything but getting their money. There are plenty of other rental business in the area that you can depend on but sorry, this is definitely not one of them.
