The Occasionette gift shops are always a fun place to shop. This location is spacious. It has a wide variety of merch at all different price points. It has lots of local stuff for both Collingswood and Philadelphia It has a great card selection. It's a great place to find a unique gift. The Christmas stuff was buy one get one free. I purchased two wine glasses with the Wanamaker's Christmas light show detail that were BOGO The person who helped me at the cash register, wrapped my glasses and tissue and put them in a little tote bag. In Collingswood, everything is more Instagram delicious. This card and gift shop is no exception to the rule. Filled with ultra hipster, Brooklyn liberal adorbs, you will find yourself swooning over every item. Located on tree lined Collingswood Ave, it's a slice of heaven. I picked up an adorable wine gift bag and piece of art work. The prices were reasonable and there is something for every budget. The ladies were so nice at the register and even the bag wrap for my goodies were on point. So head on over and feed your hipster soul! Call store or check website for hours. read more

Oh, my goodness. This store is SUPER CUTE. I couldn't stop smiling the whole time I was in there, which was probably weird because it really is only just a gift shop. But it's such a cool, fun, local shop! The original storefront is along East Passyunk, but unfortunately I've never visited it. But this location is in the heart of Collingswood and just opened about a month ago. Their goods run the gamut, from Collingswood-centric gear to vases to greeting cards. They have a nice selection of beer and wine merch, including these fun sturdy 6-pack holders for beer at BYOs. I'm glad to say I have one in my collection now! The lady working last weekend was extremely sweet too. She walked around the store with me as I asked questions about the shop and their offerings. She also wrapped up my purchases with care. Nothing worth buying in the whole place. Very unfriendly staff. They are segregationists who will kick you out for not wearing a mask. They have the door open when it's freezing outside. Avoid at all costs. By far the least friendly people I have ever encountered and the worst atmosphere of any store in Collingswood. Go everywhere else before this place. read more

One word - adorable. This is like a mini Anthropologie store with so many cool items that you'd be surprised to find in a small town like Collingswood. The words quirky, cool, trendy all apply to the items they have for sale, from beautiful cards to gorgeous little plates, gifts for babies, wedding presents, you name it. I really loved everything about this shop, from it's location and outside appearance, to the tiled floor entry way, and all of the super cute & unique gifts they have inside. It's hard to walk in and not pick something up that catches your eye. The cards are all very creative and for ANY type of occasion. There are maps, and jewelry, beautifully scented candles and hand soaps, socks, totes, cook books.. literally you name it and they probably have it. Occasionette opened not to long ago in colllingswood! We walked in while waiting for the wait for Sabrina's cafe. Is a perfect store to buy unique gifts for friends and family or yourself! From cards to chocolate the possibility is unlimited. My favorite is their variety of collections of candles and soaps. I bought a card that says 'sending love from collingswood' to my friends in Virginia, candles (who doesn't need more candles), and a cat temporary tattoo for fun (we loved them, such good quality). They also have a punch card where you buy 13(?) cards, then you get one for free. You'll definitely find something to buy here whether you like it or not! read more

While I am 100% for supporting small businesses....I will never give this place my money ever again! The management is totally disrespectful and inept....and the owner, Sara Villari is even worse. I've NEVER come across such poor business standards in my life! To illustrate, below is the email that I sent to Sara - for which she NEVER responded. I guess not all business owners have principles.... EMAIL TO OCCASIONETTE: Good Evening Sara, I suggest that you take this email seriously and respond accordingly. I am sure you do not want me to come into one of your shops to discuss this in-person, in front of customers and staff. The absolutely absurd behavior displayed by your so-called "operations manager" is beyond anything that I have ever experienced in my career or personal life. I have had a truly awful experience thanks to James Haro. I will do my best to explain. I submitted my information for employment on September 21st. I received a generic response on Sept. 23rd. I heard nothing further until October 11th by way of another generic email, which admittedly went to my junk folder. I happened to send a follow-up on Wed. Oct. 13th, at which time I then saw that James' email automatically moved to my inbox. The minute I saw this, I sent James another email to apologize for missing his first message and asking if he was available to meet later in the week and I even offered to talk via Zoom or FaceTime that very afternoon. I got no response from James. Next, the morning of Oct. 14th, I sent James another email to follow-up since I had not heard back. Later that day I received the same generic, form email that I received on Monday - only the dates were changed. The email asked if I could come in today, Friday, Oct. 15th. I replied that I would be happy to meet with him and that I would come to the flagship shop at 1:00pm, unless he preferred that I meet him at a time that was more convenient for him. Then, at approximately 11:45am today, I received an email confirming our meeting time of 1:00pm, at which point he asked for my resume. Mind you....this is one hour prior to our set meeting time. Shouldn't my credentials have been requested prior to scheduling an interview? I sent my resume to James at noon. This is when James' lack of experience, professionalism and respect went full throttle. At approximately 12:30pm, a half hour prior to our set meeting time - I received an email and voicemail from James cancelling my appointment after submitting my resume. This behavior is so absurd, that it would be laughable if it did not happen to me. How can a company like yours have someone so inept as their operations manager? I managed a high-end interior design showroom in Philadelphia for two years, and had any of my staff acted in this way they would have been let go, immediately. This total lack of experience, preparation and respect displayed by your staff and that I experienced is unacceptable. I had to completely rearrange my schedule to meet with James, and this is how I am treated? I had to cancel an occasional afternoon/dinner shift at a respected restaurant for this! That means that I lost out on an opportunity to make money, and it also means that management then had to scramble to have my shift covered. So, thanks to James.....Occasionette screwed me out of my own time and money, as well as affected the people I work with - all for nothing! James had ample opportunity to ask me for my resume this week, but he did not do that until the 11th hour - then I had to pay the price. I sent James multiple emails to touch base and follow-up, he could have asked for my resume at any time, but he never responded. I am happy to show you the emails, if you'd like. Lastly....and more important than being a perspective employee, I was an avid customer. I use the word "was" because I will no longer support a business that lets their upper management treat people in this way. Did it never occur to James that I may also have been a customer? Obviously not. Had that happened in my showroom, that employee would have been fired on the spot. It is totally ludicrous and it is incredibly bad business to treat one of your customers in this manner. Now, I am not saying that you should fire anyone.....I am saying that you should explore the levels of professionalism, experience and respect that so-called management has. I will give you an opportunity to respond to this email and address the way that I was treated by your staff. Should this message not be addressed in a timely manner, I have no problem expressing my feelings and explaining exactly how poorly I was treated by your store to all of my friends and neighbors in Collingswood and Oaklyn and on Facebook. Occasionette is one of my favorite places to shop in South Jersey. It's located on the main street of Collingswood with plenty of parking nearby. I love supporting local when I can and this is the perfect spot. The shop has everything you could imagine for gift giving - a touch of Philly local goods, baby gifts, cooking gifts, and so much more. Whenever I need to give a gift or treat myself, I head on over. The prices are reasonable and feature a ton of local artists. I believe they also have a location in South Philly, but thankful there's one in my backyard. read more

I frequent the East Passyunk shop, but my sister lives about three blocks away from the new location, so I've already stopped in a handful of times over the past month or so. Every single time, I end up with a card, gift for a friend or family member, or little present for myself. I absolutely love this store and the interesting selection! From tea towels to candles to kitchen gadgets to spices (my husband and I are fans of the popcorn enhancers, and my sister loved the spiced wine/cider kit I tossed into her birthday gift) to jewelry to adorable cards and more, I could just go cray cray at this place (and often do). You can pretty much find gifts for anybody at this wonderful store. And of course you'll be able to find something that you'll love too. My recent favorite purchases have been a dreidel snowglobe and a puzzle that celebrates diversity and equality. I also stocked up on cards for some upcoming birthdays. Occassionette is one of those stores that makes you wish you had more occasions to shop for! I stopped in to get a greeting card for a wedding and ended up leaving with a unique tea mug, tea, champagne glasses, a planter, and a candle. I love that the store sells items that are not the same old things that you find in big box stores like Target... and don't get me wrong, I do like my Target runs. This is the card and gift shop I've been waiting for years to come to town. We've got a lot of restaurants here in Collingswood, but we were a bit light on the quirky gift and home goods kinds of stores before Occasionette opened up. The sister location of a shop in South Philly, the Haddon Ave Occasionette storefront has a bunch of great stuff inside. The first you'll probably notice walking in is the massive wall of greeting cards. They've got them for all occasions, and some that are really just anytime cards. Moving on from cards, they've got several tables full of things that could be either from gifts for yourself or someone else, or just smart, practical things for around the house, like a New Jersey-shaped cutting board or a reusable bag for wine. In the back left, there's a nice section of baby and toddler items and toys, and in the back right, there's a display of jewelery and other accessories. Basically, whatever fun thing you're looking for, you'll probably find it in here. read more
