i wish i could give marty burbank 6 stars. i brought my parents into his office upon a recommendation from my close friend to modify their living trust. mr. burbank is very knowledgeable in estate planning and i believe he has a doctorate in tax law. my parents are korean so they of course tried to lower the cost by considerable amounts. mr. burbank was very patient and fair and i had to apologize to him afterwards because i felt so bad. he's a very good man, full of integrity which can be difficult to find in the realm of law. he is very detailed and he thinks of every possible option that could happen. i highly recommend marty burbank. read more

I went to OC Elder care for a probate matter. My first lawyer ,AAron Gregg bailed for Reasons only he knows (Horrible Lawyer). The probate matter was sent down the street OC Elder Law. Got a name, Josh Ramirez. Nice guy . But a $400.00 an Hr. Lawyer , not even . Completely, incompetent. I should have realize that the first week. He states " I been trying call you at least a dozen Times, I left voice messages." Myself" I don't have a voice mail on my phone."Strike one the guy a liar. He email me to informs that he setup , along with the opposition Lawyer private mediation in Riverside.Humm ? I called my uncle who is an attorney in LA with his partner Pete who happens to be Probate Lawyer. Both declare "this is a setup and don't go." But Josh called and convince me otherwise. Needless to say, my uncle and Pete were right. You go into a gunfight with no bullets in your gun. This Lawyer had not subponea one thing that I requested in very first meeting. We had nothing. Mediator " you have he said she said case. You have no evidence.Nothing! Josh did nothing but charge me money for work that was never done. Strike two, I was embrassed. My lawyer is Clown in a Circus of thieves. Sad Experience for me, he got me nothing. He did nothing. The worst lawyer I have ever dealt with . Completely, INCOMPETENT to the core. I waited for about HR to chat with mediator and he replied " Your lawyer was woefully unprepared for this case. Literally , he had no evidence . That is what makes your case" Strike three !! This guy did not subpoena one thing I ask him to get. Sadly, $12k down the drain for thinking he was worth $400.00 an Hr. Maybe $4.00 an Hr. Please avoid this law firm ,it just a money grab. I would not recommend Marty Burbank to obtain aid and attendant care VA benefits for any veteran. We used Marty Burbank to obtain VA benefits for my father who was 90 at the time. My father served his country in World War II. We waited 3 years to receive benefits. We were charged 3,000 dollars for a trust and to file for the benefits owed to my father. He never saw a dime. My father passed away on July 14, 2012 after suffering from lung cancer which metastasized to his brain. My mother passed away 7 months later. When I called Marty after my father passed I was told he does not have any direct access to the VA. What we experienced was not pleasant, in the least, and Marty offered nothing. I have nothing but great things to say about OC elder law. I was in need of a good elder care law attorney and finally found one. As many of us do I asked around and read a few reviews. I met with 3 different law firms during my frustrating and drawn out search. Until, I met Joshua, he had me at his white board and dry eraser markers. Joshua was the first and only attorney who literally Painted a picture of what I needed, and the steps it would take to get things done. He explained the plan that would best work for me, while he mapped it out on the white board. Suddenly for the first time I finally understood a half fraction of how the law works. Joshua and his team are very professional, something I picked up on before my very first visit. Our trust and living will is complete and turned out great. Joshua is currently also helping me fill out some paperwork for my fathers VA benefits. We just had an initial 15 minute zoom call with Marty to discuss if he could help find out if our mother was eligible for any other veterans' benefits to afford a caregiver. Well, Marty was amazing! A real down-to-earth guy who listened to what we said and didn't waste a second of our precious initial 15 minutes. I gave him general background info and within 5 minutes he came up with a VA benefit that my mother is entitled to that we knew nothing about. What's more, he even told us about some of the documents we might need, and even who we needed to ask to help fill out the forms for free. He could have easily withheld that information, take our case, and charge us for that, but he didn't. He gave it gratis! My mother doesn't have much, so to get that guidance and info for free is not only stellar but extremely kind. Once we get these benefits sorted out, we will be calling Marty to redo my mother's trust and will that was botched by another elder law attorney. I only wish we had found Marty 6 years ago before we wasted thousands with this previous lawyer. I highly recommend him. Thank you, Marty! read more

After attempting to navigate the overwhelming and confusing information and application process to procure VA benefits for my 92 year old mother, I was referred to OC Elder Law. Marty Burbank met with both my mother and me and informed us of the correct program we should be filing for (I was in the process of filling out the forms for the wrong program), printed out the documents of the correct application for us, spent time with us explaining the guidelines and process for a quick process ( 3 months vs. almost a year), and didn't even charge us a dime! I chose Burbank because a friend recommended him. I have a situation regarding a trust where I am positioned to inherit 1/2 of an estate, but person who will be the Executor (when the Trustor dies), is commingling funds and making all kinds of financial decisions without consulting, and those decisions will negatively impact the worth of the estate. I submitted a detailed outline to Burbank's office and was told after review (by the office attorneys) it was worth having an official consult at the cost of $300 dollars. I am home bound for now so it was a phone consult. He spent less than 10 minutes on the phone with me and said literally nothing could be done. That was the sum of the consult. My experience with other law offices is they don't charge for review nor the time it takes to communicate when there is no issue to litigate - they will say "nothing can be done" and say it for free. It felt very exploitative and unprofessional as he really had nothing to offer besides taking my money. And, he knew I am on a fixed Social Security income. Elder law advocate indeed. Additionally his office clerk Ericka was very inefficient. Avoid this one if you don't want to waste your time and lighten your wallet. read more

In 2002, I had a Living Trust and Will drawn up at the Law Office of William A. Fazio. I was also a former employee many years ago at that law firm and felt extremely confident knowing the attorneys would handle what I needed. A few years ago, I refinanced my house and noticed it wasn't put back into the Living Trust. This office is a joke. They seem professional until they get your money, then they are too busy to speak to you. They do not answer their phone nor do they return any calls if you leave a message. Oh, and don't bother stopping by the office because if you do, the door will be locked and receptionist, who is sitting at her desk, will just look at you through the window then ignore you. I had Marty do a living trust for my parent and the info in it is completely wrong. When I advised him of the errors, he just said not to worry about it because it didn't really matter anyway. WTF??? I just paid a RUDE amount of money for something that "doesn't really matter anyway"? I now have to go to another attorney to fix the mess Marty created. Do NOT use this man. He seems to know what he's doing and you'll want to believe him but the end result is an expensive disaster. There are better and cheaper people out the who won't screw you out of your hard earned dollars. And that is the reality here, its all about the money and customer be damned. read more
